First, I´d like to commend everyone on taking part here 👍
Please accept my apologies for not doing so much earlier, guys :guilty:
Strong field and strong efforts, Fellas 👍

Secondly, I´d just set a new PB for the RX-7.
Incidently identical time to the XJ220
Pretty amazed by the potential and level of performance that the RX-7 has to offer.... and there´s room still for improvements

Mazda RX-7 LM Race Car '01
(R5) :
18.375 // 36.204 // 58.868

Nice times, Hekke! I'll give them a crack later :)

Update with the A4: 1'00.675
Still 2 tenths there, but the last corner is killing me :yuck:

new fast laps:

mazda rx7lm racer: 19.241 - 38.362 - 1.01.567

and a new found greatest looker of them all:

toyota supra esso ultraflo (jgtc): 19.841 - 39.197 - 1.02.595

i think the ultraflo is not in the ntsc version of gt4 but it surely is one of the 6 jgtc supras in pal.

New times from here. Jaguar still problematic for this driver.

Jaguar xj220 LM: 20.749 / 40.509 / 1'04.751

I've had faster T1's and T2's but scrub off on last hairpin.
20.301 / 40.268 / 1'05.016 $!#%$^:grumpy:

my bad!

Everything is Updated in here 👍

I am curious about this time though ..

gtbadboy - Mercedes-Benz CLK Touring Car / R5 / 1'00.008

Thats a stunning time gtbadboy and it takes 1st place in that car by a mile over Hugo :scared: are you sure of the car or time? please recheck mate just to be sure

He probably means the CLK-GTR, Ron.

Sorry, gtbadboy, the CLK-GTR isn't available for this challenge, only the CLK-DTM :)

You're probably right mate ... the submitted car name was like a mixture of both the AMG and the CLK so it sort of threw me :P .... Cheers

ooops! Ran this at 2:00 a.m. I stand in error. It was indeed the "GTR" so scratch the 1'00.008. Back to the drawing boards. It's no wonder I found the 1' mark so easy. Sorry about the confusion. :dunce:

The run with the Jag stands but it is still a problem child for the old man. Real loosey goosey is my only comment.

Belated welcome on board, gtbadboy. :) Always nice to see other mature racers around. 👍

I had some spare time and was still missing one of the Mazda's so...

RX-8:

18.866
37.389
1'00.486

Lot's of times in now. It'll be damn hard to talk you out of continuing with this fantastic concept, eh Ron? :D You just have top pick the "right" tracks. ;)

thanks for the stewarding ron! hope you might want to consider another of these great challenges.

*** cough *** hope he remembers my el cap suggestion *** cough ***

currently i am twice in the list with the mazda rx7 racer; please erase the second one?

Made some small improvements on these two cars, the ford is killing me :dopey:

arora / rx7 / rss / 59.713 / 18.429 / 36.685
arora / falcon / rss / 1.00.088 / 18.669 / 37.162

And I ran a few more cars :)

arora / rx8 / rss / 1.00.531 / 18.885 / 37.279
arora / motul z / rss / 1.00.015 / 18.890 / 37.230

Guess I need yet one more session in a few of these...

just did a 1.04.264 with the 190 E 2.5 AMG Benz.

i cant seem to find the remaining 0.8 tenth to get the 1.03.4**

Still working on the Jag:

T1/ 20.065 T2/ 39.729 FLT / 1'03.618

Seems about right for this driver. I tend to be 4 to 5 sec. behind the leaders regardless of the car. I know there's more time to be knocked off here but "LOT" appears to be the culprit. :irked:

Going great 👍 ,5 sec off in a week.

I hope do you don't mind a few tips.

I assume you have the driving aids on,so if the asm is off you will get another sec.
Shutting down the TCS will give also a sec. and getting to manuel gearshiffting the last sec.(I also assume :scared: you drive auto )

This track is perfect to test with these things ,not in one day learned but in the end the results will show.

The driving aids were on last week but here lately they are and remain off.

Manual shifting. Wow! now that'll be a challange. I suppose I could give it a go. :nervous: :nervous:

Nice to be retired. Been busy today:

Nissan Motul Pitwork z T1- 20.085 T2- 40.282 FT- 1'04.206

Opel Astra Touring Car: T1-20.415 T2 - 40.848 FT - 1'05.671

Toyota Woodone Tom's Supra: T1- 20.479 T2 - 40.321 FT - 1'04.313

These are all saved and clean runs. I did manage to get in a qual run as well and I'll be in Div 3. Surprised he didn't open Div 4 just for me.

Update:

Mazda RX-7 LM Race Car '01 (R5) :
18.339 // 36.235 // 58.808

Jaguar XJ220 LM Race Car '01 (R5) :
18.257 // 36.200 // 58.831

Taking off driving aids and switching to manual helped me improve by quite a margin - I reckon it'll do the same to you, as well.

If anything, I should've been the trigger for Div4. I was a whopping 14 seconds behind the best time. Though, after half a year and lots of improvement, I ran it down to less than 4 seconds behind - WRS Improvements!

I have already seen the benefits of running manual tranny. Started at 1'08's and I've gotten down to 1'04's and 1'03's in a little over a week. That's not too bad for some one who has difficulty walking and chewing gum at the same time. All thumbs eh? :guilty:

The +11 shocked me a bit in Quals. but I should have guessed I was the turtle. Ran it in auto and shouldn't have submitted it but got frustrated.

These 58's are a bit shocking but I've flirted with some of the T1's and T2's to get there only to lose it at that damned left before the second tunnel. I'm keeping the boys in the repair shop busy. I'm off thread here. Sorry :dunce:

updated times coming later today.

Hekke, Ron, want to give it a go again?

I took the Jag out for a good session:

18.255 / 36.301 / 58.728 :)

Ouch!

Gotta try the car on Midfield. Love the roadcar, but how's the racecar? I only remember lots of unintentional drifting on Fuji...

Nice time Hugo 👍 Got any tips on keeping the rear in line going into the last hairpin?

Still have 2 cars I'm hoping to crack into the 59.xxx range :dopey:

Well, Erik. I managed to get it into a nice drift at the last corner which made me go faster. Although I had the intention to brake in a straight line, haha. To keep the rear in line, just try to brake in a straight line. Before the sharp lefthander you have an easy lefthander, followed by the nasty righthander. Try to stay as left as possible at the easy lefthander, so you don't have to brake and steer as soon as you hit the inside curb on the nasty righthander. This makes it easier to control the car. It's just a matter of trial and error then, I lost it many times too at that point...

Thanks Hugo, I've known for some time that I needed to improve that section of the course :guilty: , case in point:

Ron's Falcon t2 37.223 with a finish of 59.920
My Falcon t2 37.162 with a slow finish of 1.00.088

You made me realize I needed to think more of the flow of all three turns 💡 if that makes since. I can also now steer a little left while braking into the hairpin. 👍

A few more things I picked up, not sure if Ron is doing this or not... after watching his rx7 vid and realizing that I often overcooked the high speed "s" entry, I decided to try upshifting early, like before the rumble on the left and wow what a difference it made. Thanks Ron, even if you did not do it. Sjaak's coments about the roundy on Rons rx7 lap made me think also, gave me the Idea (which I should have already known) of gaining max speed out of that turn before t2. Thanks Sjaak.

Anywho, here is my latest Jag attempt, could be better but it's close to my rx7 which was my goal.

arora: Jag / rss / 59.824 / 18.537 / 36.982

18.255 / 36.301 / 58.728 :)

now thats a quick time right there 👍
my fastest til now in the jag 59.254:indiff:

it would be quit interesting to see a replay of that:dopey:

Damn nice lap in the Jag Hugo 👍 I will update all times on this tonight and run a few more laps in the Jag also

Damn you, Hugo   :) That´ll be a hard act to follow :scared:
That final sector of yours is mighty impressive
Two tenth´s up on my sectortime in the Jag is just insanely quick 👍
Now, let me guess... your splits would indicate a top speed setting of 330km/h.. right?!
Nevertheless... would give my right arm for that replay of yours... just to enjoy how you negotiate that final lefthander :sly:
Again, Hugo... hats off! 👍

Now, Ron..... Any ideas ?! :mischievous:

Edit.
Well... managed to surprise even myself by going a bit faster (PB) with a quick session in the Jag.
Funny how things pans out sometimes with times like Hugo´s to aim for 👍

Jaguar XJ220 LM Race Car '01 (R5).
18.269 // 36.186 // 58.759

I know I've only been playing since the first of '07 but, you guys are insane!

I'd love to see a replay of some of those times just to admire and learn.

The best I can do with that Jag:

T1 - 19.672
T2 - 39.670
FT - 103.858

My times with the Mazda RX7-LM race car are a full second slower. :banghead:

I will admit that since I've started hanging around here I'm driving with no aids, and a manual tranny and my original 1'08.xxx has improved but, I've no idea where those last 5" are at this point. I guess that's why I'm in Div III.
You guys are just !@#&%$# Awesome!! 👍

gtbadboy... I´d assume that it´s Hugo´s replay you´d like to see :)
So would I 👍
Hope my replay will guide you in the right direction :)

Now, you´re lucky being Div.3 ... I have yet to be a classified :ouch:
