Really? I'm still unsure, I think for me I'd have more fun using the controller. I could also use the "chase" camera view then, so I can constantly look at my nicely modified cars.:sly: Just a preference, although now that you explain I can see there'd be nothing wrong with using the wheel.:)

The good part in this game is that it isnt that arcade when using wheel(G25),not shure how it is with DFP or DFGT,but much better car handling with G25.Using my chase cam when cruising and other drivers around ,but deffenetly incar when racing.

By that 65.000 Vette as soon as you get the money!

Seems like a really good fun game! Maybe I should get it for my brother.
I wish they do Philadelphia. That would be great!

I'm loving the cop chases. I love creeping up behind one, ramming him, reversing and driving away. I usually go and hide in the mall to get rid of the cops, seems to be working well.

Wait, I have been gone for 3 days now.....turbo lag owns MC? This is news, I'm about to hop on the ps3 for the 1st time in three days...feel free to add me with a message saying your from GTP:)

You're not making this decision easy for me.:sly: And Corvette? I'll be getting everything from GM as soon as I can.:D

What cars are you allowed to start with? Anyone?

No joke. My Camaro Concept has done really well, but a lot of races are really getting tough as nails. The Lancer I just won has stats that say it's faster in everything than a Stage 3 Camaro. :scared:

Gonna buy the Z06 tomorrow and fully mod it, and see just how tough the Challenger DUB Tournament is.

Not very. I won it easily with the Camaro.
Then you must have had a lot of luck & skill. It's the 2 S203 Mustangs & Cobra Concept that make it very hard.

However, I've heard that the best way to win any of the DUB tournaments is to use your starter vehicle stock, except with a full shot of nitrous. The AI usually responds and then makes it very easy.

There is a realy old VW Golf, an old 240sx (best looking car, about 1998 model), and another old bomb I cant remember. As soon as you get a car, do the paint when you can because they look like crap when you first get them.

Uh, don't do paint. Just leave it because the game charges you $1,000 to access the paint shop for that car. And in the beginning, you'll want that $1,000 because you only make around $300-$500 per race.

BTW, avoid buying cars as much as possible. You can beat a good chunk with the starter car, and even more with cars you win. I beat a good chunk just with the old Camaro & RX-8. I'm about to see tomorrow just how good the Lancer you win is. The only car I've actually bought is the Camaro Concept. The reason you should avoid buying any cars is because very later on, Karol will offer you a very good deal on the garage.

Do you mean the old Camaro that you win of that Nicoli guy? How on earth do you make that thing steer well! On the straighter races its ok but twisty stuff the Golf fully maxed seems to do a better job.

Im not all that far through the game and im trying to win as much as I can with the 3 cars I have (Golf, Datsun, Camaro)... how far do you recon you can get through the game running with these alone?

Oh and anyone manage to do the delivery missions easily?, I find it damn hard to get there in the time.

Robin

I'd recommend, to NEVER buy a car. Just use the cars you win, they're usually better than the ones you can buy anyway. I'd recommend driving around and learning shortcuts and routes too, once you get the hang of it it's useful to have the knowledge in races. I also chose "roar" as my power up, I chose it from experience from MC3, if you use this properly, you can gain quite a lot. Use it on highways, and in city traffic. It's pointless anywhere else. You can push AI cars off the offramps when you need to if you time correctly, or even push the off the freeway altogether (I do this alot).

I dunno about you guys, but I got to where I am without buying anything. The races for me are uber easy, I've only lost about 3-4 times and found about 8 races tough so far. I personally don't know why people say this game is tough. I haven't bought any cars yet, except a bike for 17k (Ninja).

Right now I have,

69' Camaro SS ( I love this car, I use it alot)
83' Golf GTI
75' 280Z
79' Firebord
04' SVT Focus
06' RX8 "Shinka"
Camaro DUB
99' Eclipse
06' S600 DUB
Challenger DUB
06 Lancer
07 Ninja

And about 200k cash.

Btw, is it ok if I add you guys on PSN? I'm pretty bored, and I'd like to play with a few more GTP'ers.

The Datsun can get you a pretty good way. Same with the Golf. The Camaro takes a bit skill to use in the turns, but on the straights it'll really, really haul. If you win the RX-8 before any other cars, use that & modify it slightly. It has very well response in the turns, and will deliver a good amount of speed.
Oh and anyone manage to do the delivery missions easily?, I find it damn hard to get there in the time.
Know the best route, and drive as soon as the timer starts. A lot of these are won by a second or so, and you need to haul tail.

I found the Camaro one of the easiest cars to drive ingame. I found it turns better for me than almost anything else, everything else seems to have a kind of 'numb' turning feel for me. Maybe my tastes are just different, but w/e.

I heard that the Ducati 999 makes things a bit easier.

I just put the difficulty on easy and it was a walk in the park.

I agree, the Camaro served me very well for a long long time, right up until the Challenger DUB when i upgraded. Also you didn't note our roar trick of using it when the AI is just infront of you about to take a sharp turn, where you can use roar to make them miss the turn completely.

Also dont worry if you lose your car in a slips race guys, you can always win them back at the same place you lost it right away if you have a vehicle for the job.

Overall this game isn't that hard to be honest, I had the game done in 2 days and I wasn't playing non stop, so it's plenty doable with a bit of patience and practice. I must own up I have masses of Midnight Club 3 experience but it doesnt transfer all that well because the physics are so different. Know your city, know your car and read the traffic.

Oh yeah, forgot about that one too. Right now I'm having some fun with the highway races, 'roaring' AI cars off the bridge is fun.

I may have to bring it out again. Maybe I'll use it on a DUB race.

My cars, if my memory is still fresh from 2 hours ago.

Nissan 240SX
'69 Camaro SS RS
'06 RX'8 'Shinka'
Camaro Concept
'06 Lancer Evolution MR
'06 350
'04 Murcielago DUBZ

With EMP ability & $122,000 in the bank.

Is it just me, but is the Z roadster shockingly ugly on LA?

I've got full garage so it's not worth me listing the lot

Don't spend money? Question, when you do a race can you re-do it for the same prize money? The offer for the garage, is that a once off or does the offer stand until you can afford it?

Does anyone know the other car? If it's American I'd be going the 3rd car......

VW Scirocco.

VW Scirocco.

What! So you have:

Bomby old Golf
Bomby old 200SX
Brand spankin new Scirroco?

And another VW? Don't they know people have different tastes? I'll choose the Nissan then, no offense Turbo Lag.

Edit: Looking at car list, it's an '88 Scirroco? Never knew there were old Scirrocos.:banghead:

Edit 2: Almost looks like a CR-X.

You win a '69 Camaro reasonably early on though, so don't worry :)

It'll stand until you can get the $1,000,000.

On the races, you can re-do the Wager races for lots of cash later on ($7K Medium). Nearly everything else will re-appear every so often for money.

On another note, the Dubz Murcielago pretty much dominates the game unless its a DUB tournament which then takes some patience.

I have 7 Vettes(paid)all beautifully painted+~25 others. You dont have to pay for tuning and painting when buying(winning) that same car again.I just love how that car behaves on 'mountain' roads. Its good looking and sounds nice,my favorit.
Not fastest.
ed. tuning=QuickerMotorParts

Hey everyone. Got the game since a week and i really like it so far. anyhow, is anyone interested for an online cruise. Like in the old TDU days, we'd meet up somewhere and take our cars for a nice cruise up the mountains and then maybe onto the 405?

I would be in, if anybody else, that would be great.
Please let me know

Chris
