Awesome race yesterday , my pace was horrible and i eventually quitted and was watching up to the last couple of laps

gprilli you were flying man , some excellent pace i thought you had the race won , if you didnt have such a bad start you would have definetely won , Soopa had the worst tires out of you 3 ( you garage and soopa ) and he still managed to win , some great composed driving by Soopa , It was real fun watching you 3 as you pulled each other in .

That was top notch driving by you 3 , Im just real shocked how I cant manage to get anywhere with this car , I couldnt even run consistent 1 44's

Soopa, with regards to next season, what are you planning to do with the release of spec 2.0 in a few weeks. There will likely be more tracks and cars and would be good to race at somewhere like Spa etc..

Well I was already considering at least a couple of track changes for next season, I will certainly be up for some last minute changes if we get some new tracks and if the GT500 HSV is released then I'm definitely gonna want to switch cars too. :D I'm not setting any expectations for Spec 2 so as not to be disappointed if tracks or cars I want don't appear... is very exciting though

I'm praying for this

Me too, I love that track, shocking it wasn't in originally!!

Thanks mate, I was sweating buckets with those 2 behind me!! The NSX is a difficult beast to tame, I can share my setup for Monza so you can see if it would've been any better for you if you like

so a little bit of testing in the Nurburgring 24H I made times around 8 minutes, my best is 8:06 but 8 minutes flat is possible, the question is who will dare to make a one pit stop race?? :nervous: :scared:

Garagefather's Recap:

Monza is a classic. Technical but fast. Again, I expected the NSX to be tough due to its straight line speed and I wasn't mistaken. Soopa had a great run and was able to hold on to the victory.

I had an enjoyable run and felt this race was my most challenging to date in the MRC. I was able to hang on for the first stint after my tires went away a bit and I made a few mistakes running too hard into the corners. I had a different tune I was going to run for this track, but due to a busy schedule, ended up running the exact same tune as last week right down to the transmission. It worked pretty well but I could have used a little more rear grip.

I was fortunate to pit really well and reversed a 4 second deficit and came out 4-5sec in the lead. I am not sure what happened to Soopa but he was severely punished during his stop. I was hoping he would run a 2 stopper but I think he changed his mind when he had the lead on lap 11 and was still fast. His strategy running the one stop proved wise because I think he would not have been in the lead at the end if he had pitted twice. I was efficient and would have been able to keep a strong pace had I been in the lead. Gprilli was a wild man on a super fast pace and he might have been able to catch me up as well. Either way, Soopa would have had a hard time making up the time from an extra pit so his race strategy was a good one. Since he only pitted once, he forced me to work my tires harder which inevitably led to mistakes which cost me the race.

Late in the race, I missed a shift in the last corner and got crossed up trying to avoid a collision with Soopa and eventually went into the sand. I had hoped to work Soopa over in the remaining laps and try to sneak in a victory but I made a costly mistake that ended my chances for victory. Soopa channeled Mika Hakkinen, and with ice water in his veins, drove on to a well deserved victory.:)👍

Nice race to Gprilli:tup:, who made a spectacular recovery form a early mistake and especially to Soopa for his first MRC victory. WELL deserved Soopa! :)👍

Seems to be the story of your season gprilli! Early mistake and then an epic comeback through the field..

video highlights are now posted. Thanks again for the soundtrack dangermouse ;)

Well done gprili on an excellent drive, if it weren't for those mistakes I doubt I could beat you, I don't think I made a serious mistake all race which helped me alot though. I spent some time following garage in the first stint which saved my tyres and when he made a mistake I just tried to keep him from getting my slipstream back, have no idea what happened in the pits, the pit crew finished and the lolipop went up but my car just sat there!! :irked:

Sounds like you're fast on the Nurburgring though gprili, so fingers crossed for an MRC win for you 👍

Great highlights Soopa. 👍

Reflecting on the race, I think I lost a lot of time through chicane 2 for the majority of the race by being too slow and taking the wrong line. Hitting allascato spinning out after chicane 2 cost me quite a bit of time too.

Great video Soopa!! Fantastic to view again my fight with Hurley :)

About Nurb... just got a 8:02.8xxx making also a big mistake...
problem is ..... by night .... cannot see anything .... for now no good lap in the night :nervous::nervous::nervous:

Great video Soopa!! Fantastic to view again my fight with Hurley :)

Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed it, was a bit rushed but i've enjoyed watching it a couple of times more myself :)

That was one of those unfortunate things that happens in racing, someone else loses it and you end up getting knocked off the track too, you either take a risk in getting passed them or lift off and wait for them to leave the track first!!

I haven't had a chance to run practise for next week yet, Battlefield 3 Beta is out and man it is looking good so far, can't wait to get my hands on the game. I doubt I'll get much practise at all for season 2 races!

Got my first couple of laps in, got the car tuned nicely but it eats tyres so I reckon 2/3 stops for me, I did an 8:18.xxx with 2 major mistakes and too many minor ones to count!! Think I'll just be there for the ride this week, will be enjoying the scenery more than the racing!! :P

Very excited to find Spec 2 will bring replay controls, I was thinking of dropping the video highlights for season 2 since its too time consuming, looks like I will be able to continue them into season 2 after all :)

yes! It was about time for replay controls!!
also I'm eager to see the track pack dlc

absolutely, I want Midfield Raceway from the GT originals and IRL tracks gotta be Spa, I'd love Brands Hatch GP too but thats very unlikely!! I really hope we get the GT500 HSV as well, that car is sick and since they gave us 11 new NASCARS that nobody wanted, I'm hoping they will add some new GT500 for us too.

For those of you interested I've included a manufacturers standings. It's worked out based on average points of cars taking part (not including DNF's)

Interesting standings, fantastic video as always soopa. I'm sorry for hitting kingy, unfortunately I loose control of my car and couldn't do anything to avoid him.

hey Soopa, today how you'll going to handle the qualify? Are we gonna do almost 30 minutes to have the chance of having 2 timed laps (+ the first out of the pitlane)?

Well reminded gprili, I did mention it a while back, here's a recap:

A note on qualification for Rd.10, qualification will be slightly longer due to track length, but there will still only be time for 1 hot lap each. If you lose control and come off track take careful note of the mini map to see if anyone is close behind you, if someone is close behind DO NOT rejoin the track until they have passed, very important here that your mistake doesn't cost anyone else. Continue to wait until there is a sufficient space for you to rejoin. Lap times should be in the region of 8 and a half minutes on average, i'll be allowing approx 20 minutes for qualifying, which means we can have a gap of about 3 minutes between first and last cars on track. I'm planning on us all entering the track and waiting in the pits, I will set everyone off in championship standings order, championship leader first and so on down the leaderboard. Depending on how many of us enter the race, the gap between the next driver setting off will be anything upwards of 11 seconds, I will call each driver to enter the track and you must wait until called before qualifying. I think this should help minimise any incidents where drivers are in each others way ;)

So there you go it's just one hot lap (timed lap), I'll set everyone off with as much gap between drivers as possible, this will depend on how many of us turn up this week. So once I reset the track for qualifying everyone can join and wait in the pits, garagefather can set off as soon as he's ready, everyone else wait until you see me type your name before setting off. When you've finished your hot lap just wait at the end of the straight and when everyone is finished we can all make our way to the pits ;)

ok soopa I forgot! So it's going to be SUPERPOLE :)

I have been looking for a series to join and was wondering if you need any drivers? I see you have 16 people signed up but only 10 made it to the first race. I would be interested in taking the spot of a dropout or as a fill in if others don't show. I have pretty much every GT500 car so I can drive whatever you need me to.

I understand if you aren't taking on any new drivers. Just thought I might be able to get in.

thx,

And Soopa gave me the Calsonic GT-R:dopey:👍

My favorite model GT500 race car, and for good reason. She is mighty fast. I will miss her next season but look forward to a new challenge.

I would like to thank Soopa for his excellent league. I personally couldn't have asked for better league to join for my first attempt. It was well run and competitive. Good job Soopa!:)👍

I am very honored to be the Inaugural Midnight Racing Club GT500 Champion. I will assure you my success didn't come easily and I worked very hard to compete well. You guys would have taken advantage of any chinks in the armor so I always took the challenge seriously and worked hard to achieve victory. I congratulate all of you who stuck it out and I want you to know that it wasn't easy to stay on top. You guys are tough competition and gentleman drivers. I commend you all.

I would also like to shout out to Trebbor who I felt was one of the best and I really wished he would have been able to make the league schedule work for him. Hope to race you soon!:sly:

In season 2, I plan to put in an equal effort in another car and hope I will be able to challenge for the championship. I hope to see you all so we can see if it was the car or the man. Or was it man and machine in harmony? Either way, we will see if I have what it takes to repeat. I hope it comes down to the last race.👍

Congratulations Garagefather, you finished a great season off in style by taking all the points for the second time in the final round, your championship win was very well earned.

Season 3 ;)

Congrats on 2nd place gprili, you did well to battle from the back to take 2nd in most races this season, without the mistakes you'll be a big contender for next seasons title

Garage/gprili let me know what prize cars you want me to send you ;)

And well done to Soopa on running a very organised league. Excellent job and the highlights are always top notch ;)

Thanks Kingy, I'd also like to thank those of you regulars who stuck it out with us, you all contribute to the league and give me plenty of action to make those videos. Without you guys battling the videos would be lame...

I will miss the Supra,it's been a fantastic battle partner.I think this might be my regular series from now on as the other series Im normally in has "died".
I actually joined this just to gain experience during the holidays as I am relatively new to racing online but man it's fun!
As soon as college term starts I will be doing 9am-9pm 4 times a week but the racing (and cars) here means I will do my best to make full attendance.
After racing here I must say I've been hooked.See you all in season 2!
