Midnight Racing Club - GT500 Season 2: Rd.10 Nürburgring 24H 23rd Dec

Real sorry for the short notice, but my home network's been down since Thursday. I'm trying to my best to troubleshoot but I doubt I'll make it tomorrow. If I get my connection going again, I'll be there tomorrow. I'm leeching off my friend's WiFi atm, btw.

Just got home , gonna go on in an hour or less

Hope you make it lowzikai

Sorry guys but after testing I have decided not to partake. I would only ruin your races and dont want to do that.

I'm in too many series already to put the time needed inti this one.

Sorry again and good luck. Hope you all have fun :)

Network's back up! Called my service provider and they came this morning to fix it. I'll be there for the next race!

Good race, the loss of TCS this season has affected me more with keeping the car stable but all in all I drove well without going off track much at all.

I was closing in on Soopa and co at the end but hit the sand for the first time on the last lap which cost me any chance of finishing higher..

Anyone got any tips on using the DS3 and throttle control etc?

Oh and for the highlights Soopa, me going around the outside of neal at the end of lap 12 was good ;) As was taking him again at start of lap 13.

Yeah think I had a good race too, the first stint was definitely way better than I could've expected, had an unfortunate run in with hamilton which cost me a few places and went off a few times which cost me some more, just tried to be really careful on last few laps to bring home a decent finish.

Will there be any penalties for this race or incidents that occurred?

ALSO in turn 4 I need to confess/seek the outside judgment for running wide around lap 12-14 my tires were bald and I would hit the throttle a tad early my back would swing out but I would catch it. Each time I caught the drift I would end up just on the line but I wasn't sure if I pasted it or not. If I am past the line am I going to be penalized because I was only trying to control the car at that point my laps were in the 1:56's...

All in all I found it a great race garage father held a very close pace to mine at first but needed to pit around lap 15. I was going to pit on 15 but my tires were performing better then expect so I stayed out till lap 17. After garage pitted I saw Gprili gaining .3 second every sector! On fresh tires Gprili is a like the chase down master!

I dont but I find it very scary driving on worn tires only to see second place slowing reeling you in lap after lap. But I stop looking at the clock and just stared my tires.

Once I got into the pit Gprili passes me and gain about a 13-14 second lead. On my out lap I think I gained 1 second on him then in my flying lap I am positive I gain about 4 seconds on him and scored a 1:51.942 during the lap. The following lap I caught 's draft and relaxed to preserve the tires a bit by letting the slipstream do most of the work.

Once I passed him he headed into the pits lap 20 I believe I just tried to focus on tire preservation.

So there you have it my thoughts and strategy for that race.

Also from the looks of Spa it looks amazing I can't wait to download it next Tuesday :P

Your tire wear is unbelievable Montal

I think if Garage stayed with you and didn't make that mistake the race would have been different , he was doing a great job but his tire wear is very high

I considered running a 1 stop after my 1st stint , it would be a gamble and my only chance to beat gprilli for 2nd place but to run 20 laps on the same tires was a big risk . Luckily the 1 stop didn't pay off for Garage and I got by him with my fresher tires for 3rd place .

Congrats to Montal on the hat trick ( race win , pole , fastest lap )

Grand Valley will be different .... I hope

I had quite a good race but particularly in the first stint, and basicly in whole race, I hadn't the same level of grip I had in my private practice and in qualify session. I was one second slower than expected running a pace of 1'54 instead of 1'53.

It took me time to get used and in first stint I made a lot of errors (and some bump for which I'm sorry) otherwise I could fight with skengdigi for the podium since he ended up 11 sec from me.
Anyway 4th place is not bad, before the race my idea was to end between 3rd and 5th place.

It seems to me that new slipstream is not only weaker than before but it also impact on stability of car specially when you brake.

What do you think about that?

I agree with you allascato , the slipstream does affect the braking and just the overall turning of the car when in draft .

You could definetely feel it going thru the schumacher s .

Just like you Soopas lounge felt a bit different , less grip and my car seemed to slide more , had to be easier on the throttle. Who knows it could of just been my nerves . Next week ill enter soopas lounge earlier to get a feel for the car.

To qualify 5th and finish 3rd I must say I'm pleased

Use r2 and l2, u get.much more control with em.

I would recommend the analog sticks over the X and Square buttons but the R2 and L2 buttons are great if you need to trail brake a lot. Both options are better then the default buttons.

Gonna open a practice lounge in a bit , let's see what times will be like at Grand Valley

Qualified above SkenGD and Soopaman so I was very happy with that, I thought the car felt the same as in other lounges. Anyway good race and some very close moments.

Is there any way I can take the clamps off my dfgt to play on my knees?

You wouldn't want to play with it on your knees the ForceFeedBack would shake the wheel too much and possibly hurt them as well.

Will there be any penalties for this race or incidents that occurred?

If there was an incident where you feel somebody wronged you during the race, you need to review the replay to be sure what you thought happened was as you thought, then PM me to let me know who and on what lap and I will review and issue penalties as appropriate.

ALSO in turn 4 I need to confess/seek the outside judgment for running wide around lap 12-14 my tires were bald and I would hit the throttle a tad early my back would swing out but I would catch it. I'm sure a few people went wide on ocassion when the tyres were bald, I know I did as I'm still trying to get used to using DS3 its hard for me to hold a line, what would be penalised is people repeatedly doing it and/or gaining advantage over others in doing so ;)

Soopa I miss your replay so much...:guilty:

Hoping you can get the equipment to do them again. :)

Thanks mate, I really miss doing them too :grumpy:

Use r2 and l2, u get.much more control with em.

Yeah I use R2 and L2 at the moment but still find it hard keeping the car stable.

Maybe I've got the wrong settings on LSD?. I've got:

Inital - 16
Accel - 26
Brake - 8

Those were from a tune on here. I don't know much about tuning cars so any advice on those settings would be appreciated..

It will be hard for Montal to do his regular 1 stop strategy with 33 laps in Grand Valley ..... I think
