Midnight Racing Club - GT500 Season 2: Rd.10 Nürburgring 24H 23rd Dec

i will clear my cache out before every race from now on , thank you for that advice

You're welcome, I would also advice you to open the right ports on your router to have a better online experience if you didn't already do. After I did it I had no problem at all at playing online.

If you don't know how, here is a guide to do it:

GT5 port forwarding

Bye.

I thought in the opening stages my car was the fastest,I was getting ground on those I was following.I was wrong lol.

Slzk also handled it well,I just can't.It's really frustrating because I've had many other race cars (Z06 RM,Supra, etc) wear down to nearly zilch and had no problem with them.My NSX even at half wear = death,no wear still = slow.

And do tell me if it works,am sending you as a zip file and should be in your possession soon.

Oh and when will you be practicing?

Meanwhile I'll be relaxing driving the brand new Audi R8 4.2 I got.:)

Edit:Sent,did you get it?

after all the time I spent in practice I've to say that the second place is very good for me, Skeng was very good and faster then me expecially at the end of the stint (still I had very bad tyre wear on front tires). For the first 6 laps I have been following Skeng and that gave me the distance from Garage_father that was important at the end to finish right in front of him.

In the last lap I almost spinned in the hairpin screaming like this

Remember that second place is reserved for me

ehehehe

About the clearing cache, when I change a room or get disconnected I always turn off the PS3, check my internet connection, switch back on the PS3, get access the PSN, load the game, clear the cache and join the room again. I KNOW IT'S LONG BUT IT WORKS FOR ME

EDIT: also use the port forwarding link allascato posted to get a better on line experience

CONGRATS SKENG

I managed a 1:43.800 flat, and I still dont believe it :) during the race I did then a 1:43.5xx

Skeng pole was about 1:43.1xx

Thanks for sending the replay phil but it didnt work , I should have thought of this first but the regions have to be the same so I will need GarageFather to send me the replay , im just hoping he saved it . Ill send him a pm and ask him. Thanks for your help though Phil.

Yes , i just wish Montal was in the race so i could really see how good my pace was.

Pole time was a 1 43 19x i believe and i did a 1 43 200 in my last stint in the race .

I think Gprilli will be leading the points now with me right behind him.

Tokyo isnt my strongest of tracks but i will put in some practice to make sure im competitive

ROYALE was also very fast I think he did a 43 4 in the race

Thinking about 2pm uk time ill log on and open lounge , ill msg whoever I see online

36 laps on Tokyo will be a bigger challenge for us with tire management

And kingy I saw the replay.I began turning in but saw you and gave space. Then your car swerved to the outside into me.I even felt a goddmaned bang and went from positive to full opposite lock instantly.

I saw the replay last night and don't see I did anything wrong to be honest.

You had no control of the car and spun into my path and I then hit you. I was on the racing line and it was just one of those things.

I have been hit many times in this series but just try to get on with it. I got knocked off the track on the first lap when I was in good position which cost me in the end. I also got knocked off by you when you spun out again coming up the hairpin later in the race. That's racing.

If I take someone out I will be the first to apologise. But, I don't feel I have anything to apologise for tbh mate. It's a shame I hit you and you spun around but like I said, you had no control of the car.

If anyone else wants to give their verdict on the incident as it's been made public, it takes place at the start of lap 7. 👍

I was exiting normally on decent tires with all positive lock until the impact, how can that be considered no control??
I even gave you room on the inside.
To put it bluntly if I wasn't hit I wouldn't have spun.
My replay shows your car CLEARLY moving to the outside into my right rear wheel,no idea what your replay looks like.
But yes the high speed sector leading up to the hairpin was my fault.
As soon as the tires go it becomes impossible, balance issues highlighted previously.

Edit:Skeng when are you gonna be practicing?
Dampers changed from F9 R9 to F8 R2,much better and after 5 laps I only skimmed the top on the tire wear indicators.
Thanks ZiKai,makes a huge difference and am curious to hear the rest of your tune.

I had to go for 3 stops with the NSX,once the tires get to half it is impossible to drive, also shown in my previous post.

i thought i was getting lucky and 3rd place had spun out when coming out of that S turn, but it was just you sitting backwards haha barely squeezed past, usually i'm right out on the guardrail coming out of there

Yeah sorry about that.As soon as I turned in I had to go full opposite lock.Car was a disaster.
I think I slowed garage father at the hairpin where it also spun on the same lap.
With that setup when the tires are ok it can be driven but it's slow, when it's worn, might as well park it.

My qualifying time was around 1:43:900 i think. I spun out because lowikazi bumped allascato and i had to go off to dodge him, touched the grass then it was all over, I lost too much time stuck behind people, nothing illegal just good defensive driving on their part, I tried to pass the NSX's on the straights, but even with slipstream they were just too fast. I also hit allascato after he spun out which was pretty unfortunate.

Even with all of this, 4th or 5th was still possible but as i was approaching allascato on lap 23 I clipped the grass then got sent into a violent spin and lost my place to lowikazi near the hairpin. I was hoping he would lose control of the NSX in the later laps but somehow he kept it together, his tyres were actually a in a lot better condition than I thought they would be. Disappointing considering I qualified 3rd but I can only blame myself at the end of the day, also my internet lost connection about 2 minutes after the race so that was lucky.

With regards to the Kingy incident with phil, I think that was definitively an accident and a racing incident, it looked to me as though you were out of control Phil and Kingy had no option, he did nothing wrong in my eye.

I still want to see a replay with allascato in it , hoping to get a usa replay file from garage or royale possibly.

I must say I didn't have as much fun this race as in nurburg or suzuka , leading the race is a bit boring. After the first stint I had things under control and once I managed no mistakes the race was mine.

I'm sure ill have to work twice as hard if I want another win this season , tokyo is another podium possibility

Ill open a lounge later this evening

I agree with you Kingy, on my replay it looks like Phil misjudged the first corner and goes wide, Kingy is coming through on the racing line and as Phil is coming back onto it there is contact. Certainly doesn't look like Kingy turned into Phil.

I was coming back, saw him and gave space then he exited into my right rear.Thats what my replay shows. Then I heard a definite bump and that was that.I did not turn into him because I saw him there in my right mirror.

But I guess thats how online gameplay goes.Different replays,I've seen some that show really varied things.

I can show you my replay and Im sure your opinion will change.Because it looks dead obvious on mine.
He didn't even think he touched me at first, such is the severity of the different viewpoints.

And I swear the car was exiting positive lock out of that corner, don't know what you guys saw or meant as "out of control" but I reckon as Im behind the wheel I definitely know what "out of control" would be.

"Out of control" is when I spun on the later laps after the tires died and had to go full opposite lock when it turned in.

It looks like you drive right in front of his path and he touches you and then you spin right into him causing him to hit you. It looks like he is as far right as possible and the momentum causes him to swing left.

It does look like he caused you to spin but only because you drove into his path.

You look very "jumpy" on my replay, is this the same on yours ?

I SWEAR,I did not.I saw the replay,I left him a car length and a third for goodness sake!
I would know what turning in on someone is like. Moreover I saw him as stated above.
And as I said above about the different online experiences, might explain the varied viewpoints.
But it dosen't really matter anymore though, that race was over the moment I started.

Edit: Oh and yes he was as far right until the last portion of the exit where my replay lagged and showed his car suddenly swerving, like literally turning left into mine(come to think of it I don't think it's him swerving) but strangely the game registered it and there was the usual GT5 bump sound.

To be frank I find it very strange myself that this even happened.Because as I've said I saw him and left him room, and I could see he had space. And after some thought I doubt he would just spontaneously change direction and attack my right rear.

So Im sitting here wondering what is going on.

I wish I could show you my replay as it quite clearly shows you driving into him. I fully believe you would not do this on purpose and neither would he. It must be lag or some inconsistency as it clearly shows on my replay that you drive into him.

From your bumper cam it does look like you gave room but from 3rd person it doesn't.

That's all I'm going to say on this matter.

Nah, my car was pretty steady and didn't swerve at all.

Anyway, enough of all this. Let's just move onto next week..

No hard feelings then,Im as surprised as you are.👍

Oh and by the way, I said it on the night, but again congratulations on your first win SkengD. You took all the bonus points too so you took your first win in style ;)

He's started practicing already and set a mid 35 on the first few laps!:scared:
Im on a 36 with some changes to the damper ext and height borrowed from ZK's NSX and it makes a HUGE difference.
Now I know theres more to be had from this NSX.Soopa how are your current settings like?
Because it seems running severely staggered dampers and height settings for this car help it.

Soopa how are your current settings like?

Well I used a setup kindly provided by Garagefather, I think he realised I didn't have time to practise and put in the ground work for me, thanks again dude ;)

It's alot stiffer than I would usually go but it worked well for that hairpin and that was enough for me to just run with it

Spring Rate 16.0/16.5
Extension 10/3
Compression 9/2
Anti-roll bars 6/5

To be honest I will be looking for some help with the setup again this week, so if you find something that works well and don't mind sharing it would be much appreciated

Seems like the weeks race was wide open, gutted ilK missed it, nvm, lookin forward to Tokyo, like that track, I'll be practising later, goin out for a few beers tonight, see u later then skengd, looks like you had a good race pal, congrats!

Similar characteristics with your setup, the wildly staggered damper settings.Guess we'll just have to develop these cars through the season.:)

These are the susp settings I have used in the last 2 races

-12 and - 14 ride height
15.5 and 16.5 spring rate
8 and 8 dampers
8 and 8 compression
6 and 6 anti roll bars

1.8 and 1.2 camber
.10 and .20 toe angle

I've actually reduced my brakes every race so far going from 7 and 6 to 6 and 5 and then 5 and 5

Lounge open , ill be back and forth from the ps3 tho

Tokyo will be a big challenge , I'm so close to walls when pushing on good tires once the tires start to wear my lap times are compromised big time , race pace here will be much slower than qualifying pace

Grand Valley was a piece of cake compared to Tokyo

The good thing is no hairpins here :) .

Looking at last seasons times 33.9 the best lap by garagefather

I'm way off the pace then with my 35's

Considering we're on spec 2.0 now as well, we should be faster than last season by a second or 2, I'm sure by the time we get to race day you will have put in enough hours practise to be the right side of last seasons lap times ;)
