Midnight Racing Club - GT500 Season 2: Rd.10 Nürburgring 24H 23rd Dec

Hey I just noticed gprilli had my car last season, any chance you can give me some tuning tips??

of course, I will send you tomorrow my setup by pm but last season there were no spec 2.0 so I only got the final setup I used in Nurburgring 24h

If anyone has practiced yet in Tokyo let me know what times you are running ?

I'm still in the low 1 35's .

Struggling to find time here , don't want to change my settings for the car is handling good . I'm just not that good on this track I guess.

Did about half hour of practice earlier, getting high 1:37's, this and Fuji are my worst tracks and I'm not expecting better than 7th this time.

I should say, the thing I could do now is to fix the NSX's wear. On GVS, my tires were gone to around 1/4 by lap 10. And the worse my tires get, the more understeer I get as it wears the front so much more than the rear. I could have stayed and fought with garage, royale and allascato, but as soon as the wear kicks in, I had to pace a lot lower. Anyone has tips for reducing wear, front and rear?
I think I'll fare better in Tokyo as I have quite a lot of experience there. Also, the wear should be better too, I suspect.

I'd love to practice with someone experienced on Tokyo .

My best time is a 1 34 9 , still 1 second off the fastest lap of last season

I must be taking some lines incorrectly

It's hard to judge the lines in the high speed sector and I actually -5 from max on the rear downforce to balance it.

I think the key there is managing the steering angle in that sector to control front wear, worked for me last time.

Skeng it might be the later part of the track,I think it's that part where your GTR pulls away less. Not 100% sure though.

Its definetely not the 1st sector for that one is very short and fast only one right hander after the home straight .

So its between sectors 2 and 3 or both of them where I'm losing time , ill put in a good amount of laps this evening and see if I can go any faster. Trying to find the limit before I adjust any settings , car has been very stable since nurburg so I'm trying not to play with my suspension too much.

Hope to practice with some of you later today.

I'm also not sure if using the kerbs here helps or not , any opinion ?

Gotta practice lounge open if anyone wants to join

Just logged off not too long ago , gonna call it a early night.

Struggling in Tokyo i must say , cant make consistent laps not comfortable pushing the car , its gonna take a few days of practice to get a smooth line.

I need to work on sector 2 especially.

Well I don't know what's happened to my car but it seems to have come alive on this track, was on for about half hour and ran a 36 2, I can easily pull a extra second with some fine tuning.

EDIT, Just looked at skengd's fastest time, found out I'm 2 seconds off, thought I was in with a shout.

My fastest time is just a one off , I'm consistent in the mid 35's

If you ran a 36.2 Neal then it sounds like your in good shape , you should easily be in the 35's in no time.

I'd like to be consistent in the 34's but somehow I don't see that happening .

I'm gonna do a engine and chassis refresh whenever I play this evening and see if that helps

Yea that sounds like a good idea, think I'll do that. Should be in the low 35's later after I change the suspension and transmission settings.

The gearbox is a bit shorter than in grand valley .

Only see one clean overtaking zone here in Tokyo (the home straight) so I expect this to be a miserable race , let's get this over and hurry to Sarthe

I think you'll find there are plenty of overtaking opportunities, this track is very wide for the most part, I remember last season several times making a pass on the exit of turn 2/3 (I'm fast through there) and the long right hander that follows it.

Is sarthe at night the whole race?

It will be a 24 hour cycle with random weather, it didn't start raining until the final lap last season, so chances of being unaffected by weather are slimmer this time around ;)

Cheers soopa, its just that I never race at night or in the rain so I'm gonna start practicing now, as well as r246

I think I need to use the kerbs more at Tokyo , I'm just afraid ill lose control

Sarthe could be a disaster if it rains a lot

Afraid of losing control? How stiff is your setup?
Well it's still early I guess so perhaps with time you'll be more comfortable.

Yeah the kerbs can be risky if you're running stiff suspension, turns 2/3 are probably the most likely to give you a problem, as I'm sure you probably remember our one-make CR-Z race where I lost a comfortable lead due to spinning out on those kerbs!

can't believe i had the second fastest lap at grand valley, felt like the lexus was understeering BAD after a few laps

Just think I need to get my lines a bit more correct in Tokyo .

I'm waiting to here the times from guys like Montal , Gprilli and GarageFather

I have a feeling the Lexus cars will be strong here

You had a great race for a newcomer ROYALE
