Midnight Racing Club - GT500 Season 2: Rd.10 Nürburgring 24H 23rd Dec

Having a sparring partner would be cool.Hey be optimistic, even if we are at the back we can just try to keep it clean.:)

It doesn't seem like its a car issue at this track , its just a track issue .

Its a track that requires a lot of confidence , there is one corner I'm still hesitating with a bit .

Maybe that's the difference between Montals 16 2 and my 16 7

So what time have you managed in the NSX then?

I pray this isn't the first ever race I get lapped in, that has never happened to me before :nervous:

I took the takata dome out for a spin did about 10- 15 laps trying different setups , I managed a 1 18 1xx

I don't have the car control like Immortal , he must practice drifting a lot because I can't control the rear like how he does

Feeling confident for tonight, can run 1:18's even after 11 laps. Really hope I don't crash at the start. Best time is still 1:17.1.

Internet is looking very wobbly though :nervous: so I hope I can make it.

How was the setup I sent you?
I think it'll be real heated midpack this race. :)
And yes Skeng, it's a track issue. I gotta say, there are some parts of the track that will play with you before killing you, in the NSX, that is.

Yes the nsx is a very weird handling car , its unforgiving to say the least.

Its just very uneven and too easy to spin, gonna be a tough race , hopefully mistake free for me and podium will be possible.

I haven't had time to practise, just had enough time to test the MOTUL for the 3D3 event, gotta say what a great car!! Have to love those GT-R's, just so easy to drive and all the power you need, the MOTUL sounds gorgeous too :D

Will definitely give your tune a try before the race tonight ;)

Got a practice lounge open now , I won't be playing til about 10 10 30 tho

See you guys in a few hrs

During the mini race we had, there's this stupid mosquito somewhere in my room sucking the ass out of my blood. I now have at least 3 itchy spots on me. :(

Mozzies at 7am ain't good mate.Neither is a sticking throttle, might need to re-think my table setup.Oh and your tune is stable, better on tires than my old setup.

Does it turn better though? I may just be dreaming this up.

Just got disconnected from the room again. Shame it didn't happen during the race haha!

Apologies to garagefather for his last lap if I caused him to spin out. I hit the wall basically head on coming out the last chicane so was stuck there and then I had damage pulling the car to the right.

I made a bit of contact with Soopa early on too which was late braking, I wasn't trying to go up the inside..

Sorry for giving you a heart-attack Tyrell. My tyre's were shot and couldn't keep the car under control tonight. Whenever the blue flag situation arose I tried to get out of the way of oncoming cars the best I could. That cost me a lot of time as sometimes I stopped to a complete standstill to avoid holding people up.

Tough track that where you have to your lines spot on in certain parts or you can end up in all kinds of trouble.

No problem, thanks for moving clean out of the way on the blue flags, lot of respect for that.

I'l do a race report tomorrow after watching the replay, great race for me though, definitely didn't expect second.

I thought I was going to be highest of the NSX's early on,but Immortal ruined it.:(
The race was ok with some nice battles but at one stage Immortal and Skeng were recovering from slow speed and became a rolling roadblock.
Also the finished cars staying on the racing line was a major frustration, lost alot of time there.
As for the car it does turn better but crucially is also MUCH better on tires,it wears twice as good as the old setup.
Extremely consistent too I was running even times the whole way.Mid 1.20's.How about you guys?
Also sorry to garage father, thought you were for position until that right hairpin before the downhill left.

That is a great result, fair play.

Sounds like garage-father had some very bad luck in the pits though. I got stuck for 10 seconds on my first stop and it is frustrating when it happens to say the least..

Congrats on another win MontalvoMC, you took all the bonus points too, now you're the championship leader 👍

Well done to Tyrell and Garagefather on their podium finishes

Lexus is still leading the manufacturers championship :)

If you can do give me some advice,I feel I have some areas of my drive where Im not happy.
Weirdly when I enter the tunnel corner and that downhill my wheel is almost straight.

Edit:Just saw the replay,I noticed my tire wear is fantastic compared to other NSX's and the car is very consistent, but the pace is not as quick.
If I can get this to run a one stop strategy just like the Supra days I might be back in business.

I don't know what to say , should I be happy or sad . A real horrible race , I couldn't see Montal so it looked like I had pole ( I ran a 1 16 6 ) but its obvious I started from 2nd and Immortal was 3rd . I had a bad start got a false start penalty and Immortal jumped me at the start . I managed to pass him on lap 4 or 5 and then he tried to pass me in that final chicane , as we all know two cars can't go thru there and we both wrecked . Sorry to anyone who got hit unintentionally , I'm sure there were a few , so sorry about that.

I think I fell back to 8th or 9th then and started to make my way back thru the grid , ran into lowzikai and hit him , he did look like he was going to spin already but I probably made it worse. So I waited on him to recover , I was in last place now , this was about lap 8 or 9 I think .

The race was over at this point for me and I just tried to get the best result possible , I managed to come 3rd in my game which means 4th with Montal in it .

It sucks because I know I had the pace to challenge for the win , 2nd place at least.
I will have to recover next week .

Garage could you send me the replay via email please , I think you are the only other usa gt5 member who saw all cars on track .

Montal what was your pole time ?

I know I sound like a little bitch just whining but I knew this was one of the few tracks I could get a win so 4th place isn't exactly what I was hoping for but at the end of the day it could be worst.

The pit thing was another weird event in the game , on both my pit stops I stayed extra time in the pits . I guess ill have to practice pit stops from here on.

Congrats to Montal (wish I could of seen you) , Tyrell and Garage

Yeah you had good pace and some horrible luck, but thats racing its very hard to predict what will happen, chin up and go for it at Fuji mate ;)

Hey guys sorry I didn't show last night my girlfriends sister had her baby last night so I had to watch her other 2 kids for her, missed 3 races now, really sorry soopa.

My pole time was 1:16.356. I did two laps and sat in the pits. I feel a little disappointed for not being able to see Phil and Skeng the whole race. Lucky we didn't make contact at all the while race. In the first lap it was nerve racking having my tire cold my Lexus performs like crap! Mortal was on my bumper looking for a way in. Then in the beginning of the second lap my tires started to warm up and my nervousness was fading. I was starting to pull away from immortal. My first stint was crap honestly best lap I could manage was a 1:17.1. I was watching the seconds ahead time and i saw immortal fall back real fast lap 5. That is when I saw garage take second place. I saw the time go from 2.2 second to at one point I was 5.7 decode ahead. On lap 11 I think I made a major mistake after the back stretch which cost me 5 seconds. I have tested in the past my tires could last exact 20 laps so I can do a one stopper. If I had not made that mistake I would have pitted around lap 19/20 but I hit the pits at lap 13 and was about 4.4 seconds ahead of garage. Once I get out of the pits, I saw garage has fallen back 10 seconds. It was strange to see that while ahead I was hoping that it wasn't a glitch with that time as well. I started to catch up to traffic around lap 17 and didn't have too many problems most of the time I was able to make use the more trick corners to get around then at a higher speed. I cruised for bait until I caught up to immortal but once I was behind hit I took for every for me to get around hit. It was faster at first but as I got close he was able to pull away it was weird. I wasn't in his draft tho my corner speed were not effect but my tires were going. So I hit the pits again at lap 26. Once in there I left with a 25 second lead only to see tyrell be in second. With the fresh tires I manage put in 6 laps with 1:16's and the rest were in the 1:17' my slowest was a 1:17.8 I think. I then found Soopamanluva and immortal battling for position and used to my advantage and was able to overtake them both with little effort. I'm glad this race went smoothly I will have concerns about Fuji given it's the NSX Best track and same with spa. I will have to have second place in those next two races and must win Nurb to have a chance for championship win.

Well, my best race so far. Qualified in 4th which I expected/hoped to do. Couldn't see Gprilli again though :odd: so I hope I didn't hit you or anything. Good start, kept up with the leaders until lap 4 where Skeng and IMMORTAL crashed, I saw it coming and was on the grass before they crashed, two cars side by side through the final chicane was never going to work.

Can definitely sympathize with Garage regarding the pit stops. They are really bizarre. The lollipop man signals you can leave, but the car just remains stationary for the next few seconds. Suppose you will just have to enter slow as that's what I did and I had no problems at all.

After the second stop, the last laps were nerve racking, Garage was slowly catching each lap, one mistake and that would be it for me. Kingy span on the chicane at lap 38, and I thought that was it, but luckily for me I just missed him.

If you can do give me some advice,I feel I have some areas of my drive where Im not happy.
My advice would be to just practice more, I'm probably one of the slowest drivers in this league, but I'm practising regularly and its evidently paying off now. Notice how my podiums have been on the shorter tracks, whereas my poorer results are on the larger, harder to learn, tracks.

Feel sorry for Skengd, Garage and IMMORTAL, but there you go, that's racing. Fuji next week :scared:.
Also where did Gprilli finish ?

Gprilli finished 5th behind me , I got him near the end of the race lucky for me .

The pit stop issue really sucked I remember passing Allascato and then he passed me back in the pits , I wish I practiced the pit stops .

I must of lost about 20 seconds in the pits .

Garagefather's Recap:

Frustration continues for my season 2 drive. I can't complain too much having put the Banzai Bandai on the podium. I just felt that I had a second in the bag.

I have never experienced the pit delay I fell victim to on both pit stops. While practicing, unless you start a race, you don't have a pit crew so you can only guess as to whether you are being delayed or not in the pits. I never saw the pit delay coming. That will be the last time I don't practice that with a pit crew in place during a mock race. If tapping the brakes is all I had to do to prevent the secret penalty, I would have rather done that than be penalized 20 extra seconds in the race. I sure as heck didn't gain 20 seconds on pit entry.

I started the race playing it conservatively knowing my pace was consistent and knowing if I played it right, I would make it to the podium. I had a bit of fortune when Skeng and Immortal had a tangle and Gprilli got hung up while I cruised right through unabated. Going form 5th to 2nd on the front stretch was a gift. The race giveth and the race taketh away.......

I had the pace to stick with Montalvomc in the first stint and I think he was pushing pretty hard because I would gain a few seconds out of the blue and then slowly give it back. I pitted in on lap 13 about 5 seconds back and in 2nd place. I came out of the pits about 15 seconds back and in 3rd.
I battled back up to Tyrell and was able to get around after he made a mistake and was able to create a gap. I was losing time to Montalvomc but was happy to be running second. Tyrell elected to pit early and I pitted on lap 26.

When I cam out of the pits after another lengthy delay do to the secret pit penalty, I found myself in third and about 10 seconds back from Tyrell. My third stint was pretty sloppy as I was fuming from the secret penalties and then having to race a back marker for position wasn't helping my mood. After burning up my tires trying to run down Tyrell, I came across a struggling Kingy on the front stretch S and lost control spinning out. I collected myself and was able to regain composure and finish out the race in third. Luckily, I had a good lead on 4th or the spin would have been devastating. In the end, the final incident didn't really change anything because I was still too far back form Tyrell to regain my position the secret penalty stole from me.

All I can hope for is that my position in the championship isn't effected by the points I lost. I should be alone in 5th right now but am tied with Tyrell after the points I lost. There aren't too many race tracks left that I can put the Banzai Bandai on the podium w/o a little help from the competition. I see a definite disadvantage for the SC430s at Spa, Monza, and Fuji and think that Nurb will be the only track remaining that gives me a chance w/o help from the competition.

Will be a good battle for 5th in the championship with me, allascato and garage seperated by 1 point. Nurburgring and fuji are not good tracks for me, the other two I'd say are.

Sorry again for me hitting the wall garagefather. I can't view the replay as I got dc before I saved it.

I think the loss of TCS this season is affecting me quite a bit as I have always raced with it on.

I was in your Xanavi last season and I found Fuji a nice track to drive in that car. I clocked a 1:30.2 fastest lap which was the 3rd fastest out of everyone. I think pit strategy might have cost me in that race as I drove well. That was the GT version so the added chicane with the F version should benefit you more.

It may suit the car but the track doesn't suit me at all. It just has no rhythm to it at all, blame Tillke. However, I doubt Fuji suits many people so I may get a good result.

Also what's the Supra like compared to the XANAVI? I'm considering using a Supra next season.
