Midnight Racing Club - GT500 Season 2: Rd.10 Nürburgring 24H 23rd Dec

I think the best way to level the playing field is add weight ballast penalties to the drivers/cars who are winning races and making podium finishes.

I see it as a method being used in other gt500 series , ive been participating in immortals league on a saturday night and its the method they use.

Its an option and something to think about , we can discuss more of these ideas during the off season

And then it could be best to leave things the same , if Montal can dominate the season so far in a inferior car it could be argued to leave the rules the same and lets see what happens in Season 3

The increase to 12 races with Laguna Seca/Monaco sounds like a good idea.

I think this will be my last season though. I don't like participating if I am just getting in the way of people.

Soopa, there is no point me racing on Wednesday as I will be out on the 3rd. Good luck to those involved. 👍

Thanks for letting me know Kingy, it will be a real shame to lose you as we've been racing together for quite some time now, I hope you reconsider...

I wanted to do ballast penalties as they do IRL SuperGT & BTCC, it could work well at stopping someone from running away with the championship, I'm already changing it to a race weekend format like BTCC so why not add the penalties too!!

Qualy on a Saturday then 3 races on Sunday ? How exactly would that work?

We'll still be racing Friday night for approximately the same amount of time, but rather than one long 30 lap race, we'd have 3 10 lap races with the final race being reverse grid. With weight penalties added that could really shake things up.

I like this idea soopa as it's the length of the one race I don't like

I've followed the BTCC for many years and I always liked the format, so I really just want to emulate that to try and bring a bit more of that exciting racing, I've found myself alone for most of a race several times and short races with ballast and a reverse grid should make that a thing of the past.

If we are adding ballast penalties in, we might as well balance the whole field in terms of re-homogolation. Maybe season 3? I think 2 30 minute races would fare better than 3, but hey, I'm just saying. :)

we drive friday 3 10 races??
And in the last race the best 3 must take weight and start from the bac???

Not this Friday Immortal , these are ideas for the next season which would be next year .

I do like the long races , maybe you have a few long races on the race calendar Soopa .

With the sprint races there is no pit strategy and tire management really , that takes a lot out of the races in my opinion .

I think 2 races over a weekend would be good both ran on the friday ofcourse , 1 sprint race and then an endurance race .

We can discuss it and decide over the off season.

Same here, I like the long races. Maybe we could have a mix?

Oh, can you guys give me some feedback on my gallery? I just opened it up a day ago, sure would like some comments. :)

I'd be happy to keep a few endurance races in, we could do the obvious La Sarthe and Nurb 24H, with Spa as the third endurance. All the other races will be the 3 race weekend format and the final positions go by average points across the 3 (not including bonus points). There will be one opportunity to get bonus for pole position as we still qualify only once, but 3 chances to score bonus for fastest lap, the bonus points will be added on after the final positions are worked out.

I think this format will make for closer more exciting racing, as well as a closer battle for the championship title, I'm hoping that just like BTCC this year it all comes down to the last race 👍

I like it! In fact, it's a great idea! How about re-homogolation of the cars to (better) even the field?

Practice room should be up in an hour.
Room up.
Done,ZK is having problems with his connection.

As I said before I'd like to even out the cars but I don't see how it can be done.

The SuperGT car regulations are what we already use regarding power/weight, so I'm hoping with the addition of ballast penalties as used in SuperGT along with the reverse grid, that should be enough to help the SC430's get better results. Also with teams taking 2 of the same car we have enough that no-one has to use the SC430 unless they really want to... Don't forget that I will be tracking an independants championship next season as well as the team championship, so a teammate is not necessary in case anyone ends up choosing a car nobody else wants, you can of course always change your mind on car choice and join someone if you wish.

With the sprint races there is no pit strategy and tire management really , that takes a lot out of the races in my opinion .

Pit strategy will obviously be removed, but to be honest I don't think it plays that big a role, tyre management will still be required for a strong finish as we will be racing up to the 2 stop window ;)

I've used pit strategy quite a lot this year , mainly in races I screw up in the early parts . It does work or it could just be luck .

Well I look forward to next season , its going to be new and interesting .

I asked Tyrell if he would like to be teammates , so it looks like me and him will be trying to get a GTR or possibly a Supra.

Ill be pushing hard for the remainder of this season , hopefully I can close the gap on Montal in the next race.

Can someone please put a link on to were I can get good reliable tunes for the calsonic and others please, can't find one. Cheers

I have you on my FR list now, so I will start tuning and getting ready for Fridays race. I believe I'm suppose to be tuning up the eneos sc430 if I'm not mistaking? This series looks very professional and well organized, I'm looking forward to joining the team'

Thanks for the compliment, glad to have you on board and yes you got the car right, look forward to seeing you with us on Friday

As far as I know we will be racing at Fuji on friday,it's just that the guys are talking about SPA.;)
I have tried it too and it's hard to sight the corners there, still learning it.

It might be possible that we are gonna postpone Fuji til next week and run our Spa test race this Friday .

I'm sure Soopa will post sometime today to clear things up .

I think the general concensus is that we should run a special event this friday and postpone Rd.7 to next week. Sorry to those of you who have been practising for Fuji this week, it won't go to waste as we will continue with the league next week, details for this weeks race can be found at the link below

Midnight Racing Club GT500 Inter-League Event Shootout

I think it will be good for all of us to participate in this one make race, I know its short notice for some of you to get the car and practise so I apologise for that, you will need to break the car in to reach full power for the race which takes approximately 200 miles. Free run in online lounge doesn't add mileage, either drive it yourself or enter it in a b-spec race, I did b-spec Like the Wind @ Indy 4 times. Some of you may not have Spa so I will leave it on in my lounge so you can access it there. Just please vacate my lounge by 23:00GMT on Friday (half an hour before I open it for the race)
