Midnight Racing Club - GT500 Season 2: Rd.10 Nürburgring 24H 23rd Dec

Just looking at the points table , if we didn't use the best 8 out of 10 races rule I'd be the points leader :)

Soopa how do you plan to do the pre season and when will season 3 start ?

since I'm on holidays from january 6th to 11th I kindly asked Soopa to begin after I will return home, and he told me that the preseason will be on jan 13th and the season will begin a week later :)
right Soopa?

The plan will be to run a pre-season on the 13th, I've been quite busy at work but when I get a moment this week I will put together a thread for the pre-season races, there will be 3 races in one night but unlike the season 3 format we will have 3 qualifying sessions too. So it may run on a bit longer than usual. I'll also get a season 3 thread up soon so you'll have plenty of time to read up on the new format and raise any questions so we can iron any bugs out ;)

Sounds good Soopa

Very interesting about this tire wear change I'm seeing , sigh more headaches for me and tuning now.

Looks like those sprint races in season 3 might have a 1 pit stop occasionally depending on the track.

Or if Soopa brings in the medium tire we might start using that tire a bit more than the soft.

Looks like it will be a dry race , sigh , the rain would have helped these new tires to last longer.

With my short test it seems like a 3-4 stop race , tires are halfway after 1 lap

Soopa we have to figure out something for friday, just a few minutes ago me and allascato did a practise session in the nurb 24H. Soft tyres are gone during lap 2 (in the middle) will be very very very hard to make it (almost impossibile). I could not finish the second lap every time I tried. So I switched to hard racing and we can make at MOST 3 laps with a fastest lap of around 8:30
What will we do?

Please Soopa make some laps to understand

The new tyre wear levels are insane. They've got the fundamentals right but they just need to make every tyre last two or three times longer than what they currently do. Looking like a 7 stopper for me

maybe for next season we can start thinking of using Sports Tyres Soft ??:scared::crazy:

I'm sure sports tires would be even worse , next season won't be that bad because it will be shorter sprint races.

I think we will have to bring in a use any tire you desire rule or use racing mediums.

Since this update if you ever drove on racing hards before , they feel a bit better/faster now . Still easy to lose the rear but it seems with this update the performance level with the tires is a bit more even across the board.

Racing mediums will become the new racing soft it seems.

Racing soft may only be used for qualy or the end of a race for a flying stint .

Just my thoughts so far.

Actually, this is great! The adjusted tire wear, I mean.
Real pit strategy will come into place now. :)

Its a good job you guys have tested the new tyre wear, I haven't even downloaded the update yet! :guilty:

Sounds like everyone on racing hards is gonna be the way to go, whatever compound we go with we should all be on the same, ideally we want 1 or 2 stop strategies as usual.

Yes it looks like the days of racing softs are long gone .

These tires have spoiled us in reality but our work will be cut out for us next season to get used to medium and possibly hard tires . Cars will have to be setup different.

On a positive note the soft tires will and can still be effective in the sprint race format for season 3.

Ill wait for Soopas decision for season 3 to let us know which racing compounds will be allowed , hopefully all 3 will be allowed and strategies will be interesting .

I agree with Soopa for this last race we should all use the Racing Hard
