Midnight Racing Club - GT500 Season 2: Rd.10 Nürburgring 24H 23rd Dec

I'm still gutted about my lap 1 mishap , it threw my whole race off and killed my slim chance at winning the championship.

Hopefully ill have a good shot next year with the new format

Don't worry, the moment IMMORTAL joined us all of our chances at being Champion went out the window

You still going for a change of car next season SkengD, you were gonna give the NSX a shot weren't you? I recommend the TAKATA, served me well last season 👍

Tyrell and I plan to be teammates so we will have to work out what car we plan to use.

Anyone up for Monza practice later ?

Garagefather's Recap:

Looks like the battle for me is for 4th in the championship. I was fortunate to get by Tyrell for 4th last week and was catching Allascato for 3rd when the race ended. I am not sure how I would have fared had I made it through turn 1 clean but it didn't happen and I technically only lost 1 spot even though 2 drivers got passed me while I passed Skengd netting only 1 lost position. Not a total disaster.

The late pass on Tyrell helped my cause a bit but I really would have felt better had I finished ahead of Allascato, who is also in the hunt for 4th.

Unless we band together and take out Skengd and Gprilli in the last 2 races, a podium spot for the championship is out of reach for us three in the middle. It might already be out of reach either way.

Monza will be especially challenging for the Banzai Bandai.Trying to battle 2 of the best GT-Rs for 4th in the championship will test my abilities. I look forward to the challenge. I feel pretty good about Nurb 24 as I believe my car will be competitive there but I need a good finish at Monza to hold onto my position.

I feel pretty good about my performance as of late and think if I had a different strategy early on that I would be still in the battle for top three. I just pushed too hard in the early races trying to win when I should have focused on good finishes for points. Now I manage my races better in hopes of gaining positions though consistency. It has worked out pretty well for me with two 3rd place finishes and a 4th place finish in the last 3 weeks.

I know corner cutting is covered in the rules and what constitutes cutting will be obvious to most, but just so everyone is clear on what will and will not be penalised in Rd.9 or any other race, here are some images to clarify.

Monza Chicane 1 Entry is not possible to cut due to the position of the concrete wall there so forget that...

Monza Chicane 1 Exit No Penalty:

Monza Chicane 1 Exit Penalty:

Monza Chicane 2 Entry No Penalty:

Monza Chicane 2 Entry Penalty:

Monza Chicane 2 Exit No Penalty:

So those are the rules that will be enforced at Monza and any other track for that matter, although at Monza I will be paying special attention to everyone going through the chicanes on every lap, which I'm really looking forward to

1st cut = warning
2nd cut = 1pt penalty
3rd cut = 2pt penalty (totalling 3pts deducted)
4th cut = DQ

just want to remember all drivers the rules for Monza

Thanks for putting that up gprili, good to have a reminder for everyone and a heads up for those that weren't with us last season ;)

Thankfully ROYALE isn't racing with us anymore, otherwise I'd have to watch him go through every lap!! Actually I'd probably only have to watch 2 laps before he got disqualified

Monza such a sweet track , I hope allascato runs into immortal this race and gives me a shot at the podium !! Joking ofcourse .

Once again Monza will be another chance for me to take the fight to Immortal , no better track where u have opportunities to overtake and defend , praying for better luck this race , please racing gods bless me . Should be a really good race.

I haven't even had a chance to practice , will get in some laps tonight hopefully.

Gprilli really been on the podium a lot this season . 5 second places for him , I was just looking at the points table . I think he will get me in the end because I am not a fan of nurburg 24 .

I know its not over yet but this was a very fun season .

I can't believe ROYALE didn't return for another race , quite disappointing.

Don't let Gprilli fool you:sly:, that Nismo Z is faster than most people give it credit for. I think it is only slightly slower than its Nismo GT-R cousin.

That being said, Gprilli is pretty darn good driver too.

Hopefully I can get some more luck at Monza compared to at Spa.

I'm not too bad at Monza so would be nice to aim for a top 6 finish. Unlikely though..

Shame Royale don't fancy it anymore after getting found out at Tokyo.

Just realised, I can't make Friday as I have my work Xmas meal. Sorry about that, I completely forgot.

Funny thing... Me too I have the work Xmas meal but I will manage things to arrive in time :)

I might be able to do a 1.45 flat at best but my Raybrig has better initial wear than the other NSX's so hopefully that will help.
Deffo something different next season though. My Raybrigs later tire wear is much higher than other cars I've driven.

Sounds like Phil really wanted the Raybrig .

The nsx's are something to ponder , I've seen ppl use them and really suffer and then others really excel .

Is it in the tuning or in the driving style , I am clueless .

Practice lounge open now!!! , lounge now closed

I ran a 42 . 7xx so far , I think I might be able to get a 42.2xx but nothing lower than that.

That's lucky, mine will end at midnight at an Italian Restaurant Portofino's as it goes! So no chance of getting back in time as I'm sure a few bars will be visited afterwards too.

Even if I did get back in time I will be in no fit state to play GT5..

Anyone coming on for some practice in a minute ?
This is the only chance I have to practice this week, way to busy at Christmas time.

I'm also signed up for a 2 hour enduro a few hours before this Fridays race :dopey:

I might be on in a bit

Got the 42 6 in the second practice for the day .

I should really try and use less rear downforce here , maybe ill try it out tomorrow .

42 3xx is still possible I just haven't got the perfect lap yet .

Hi guys sorry I have been out of action for the last week or so, I have been really busy with work, and tryin t sort Christmas out, but it's all done now, so I will be online practicing hard tonight.

The NSX should be fairly quick round here, I won here last season albeit with some luck on my side, the only time the Calsonic got beaten last season I might add (Sarthe doesn't count as he left the race early) :P

When I get a chance to practise Phil I'll let you know what time I'm putting down and share my setup to see if it helps ;)

I've just run my first practice lap and it was a low 1 48, I'm gna be miles off again. Just waiting fir next season tbh.

EDIT: Just ran about a hour at monza an found 3 seconds. Learning were you can and can't cut is hard!

just keep 2 wheels on the track and you should be fine , you can get away with a bit in the 2nd chicane as shown in the pictures
