Looks like I was mistaken from a mod. Which is sadly discontinued.
I see.

This one was even better:

The coloured torches are actually some sort of redstone torches and can be turned off by using redstone signal.

Playing Minecraft 2 (that's how it's called) at the moment. In case anyone doesn't know what it is, it's a special MC version which got released by mojang on april 1st, 2013. It's weird somehow...

EDIT:
I must say the coloured glass in MC 2 is really nice:

Would like to see this in later versions of the real releases.

As well as the ability to place it over Glowstone/Lamps/Torches and make colored light, as in the video you posted. 👍

With some of the structures I've created in Minecraft, I'd be open seeing these colored glass blocks. I can surely use some of these sort of like stained glasses for churches and shrines. Then again, stylized stained glass would probably be better than stained glass blocks. And Minecraft 2? I'm sure Mojang will find plenty of ways to improve Minecraft. But what kinds of improvements and such would enhance what Minecraft 1 (if you will) started? It will surely be interesting to follow this build of MC2.

Just do /warp trials

Run the trial and the server will upgrade you automatically.

I blame Steam Summer Sale :P

Actually, I don't have the time for bigger projects in a survival setting. Takes too much time to collect resources.
(+ I tend to fall of things frequently :D )

Hopefully one of you guys can help me, didn't get many answers from Minecraft forums.

Basically, the past few days my single player world has suddenly taken ages to load and when it does I either fall through the world or only the chunk I'm in loads.

I can't open chests, I can break blocks but not receive the item back. My CPU also goes to 100% on this particular world, by creating 2 java processes, ending one of them does nothing.

I have 2 other worlds, a random survival I made and a creative, they both load and work fine.

Can anybody offer any advice? Seems strange that it only effects one of my worlds. I haven't installed any mods, except OptiFine to see if it would help, it didn't.

I'm sorry I can't help you, NINE_HUNDRED.

I read on Twitter that Minecraft Pocket Edition will be updated to 0.7.3 in about two weeks from now. One of the changes reported is in the inclusion of stars, sunset, and the moon. I am pretty sure weather may eventually be added to MCPE as well. There will also reportedly be the random splash phrases for when you are on the main menu of Minecraft. So this is something to look forward to you play MCPE.

I'm afraid it sounds like your world has corrupted.

There's not a lot you can do except regenerate the chunks using something like MCEdit. This will remove anything you had built though.

Perhaps you could try deleting the chunks around your structures and see if that helps. If the area you've built on is corrupted then you're out of luck. :indiff:

Could you upload your save?

Could be a sign that your hard drive is going bad if what Dunc says is true. You can check it with a program called Speedfan. Otherwise I guess you got unlucky and the world corrupted for some reason.

LMAO you have about 250000 bats in an area of only two chunks. The log alone in rtf was over 100MB big...

Dquan did you use MCEdit to remove the bats aka entities?

No I loaded it in a bukkit server and did the kill mobs command.

I don't understand Bukkit all that much. However, I have been seeing what Dynmap is about. The isometic views of Minecraft worlds I see portrayed are like what I see when visiting the Torinet server. Dynmap kind of reminds me of SimCity 2000 and SimCity 3000 with the isometric views. I like how Dynmap portrays Minecraft worlds. It is kind of funny I mention the SimCity series because one Dynmap image I found almost seemed like a Minecraft version of SimCity with the various buildings mixed in with the usual Minecraft environment. Only difference is that you don't have to worry about adjusting taxes or remembering to power and water buildings.

I've visited the site on Bukkit, but I still don't know enough about it to understand it fully.

It's just a replacement for the standard mineraft server. It's open source so people can make addons. That's all bukkit is really, a minecraft server.

Once you have bukkit you can search the addons (of which there are THOUSANDS) and add them to your server to personalise it.

If you look at http://www.torinet.eu/minecraft.html you can see instructions on the plugins i have running on the server.
