The patch notes says it's infinite. :P

Glad I didn't keep going to find the end. I haven't been keeping up on the updates news, just look for things that I notice that are new or different. Kinda like this tree that's fallen over..

And I thought it does that automatically...
Depends how he's using the dirt. If you put a bunch of it up on top of a building say, it doesn't grow grass. I had to build a dirt staircase to "walk" the grass up the side of a castle when I did that on the PS3 version.

Grass won't grow unless there is another grass block connected to it. Isolated dirt will stay dirt.

I beg to differ. Unless you're using grass blocks from a mod, grass will spread to dirt blocks if there is a sufficient light level.

I don't know if that makes the basic mechanics of PS3 Minecraft different from PC Minecraft, but in PS3 Minecraft grass definitely doesn't grow if the block is isolated. I wanted a roof garden on top of my castle, came back to find that after three game days it was still dirt. Hence the grass staircase mentioned above to attach it to the ground below. Once there's just one grass block though, it spread to others.

According to the wiki, this is the growth conditions:
  1. The dirt block receiving grass must be within a 3×3×5 range of the source block where the source block is in the center of the second topmost layer of that range,
  2. The source block must have a light level of 9 or brighter directly above it,
  3. The dirt block must have a light level of at least 4 above it,
  4. Any block above the dirt block must not reduce light by 2 levels or more.
And so the pressure was relieved for my 1000th post. All because of @Danny.

I'm trying to grow grass around a fountain that I built so I can plant flowers. I placed dirt blocks next to a grass block to help it spread.

I think you can have flowers grow on dirt by using Bone Meal, if you have it. I don't know if it turns the dirt blocks to bone meal, but I think it will make Tall Grass and flowers spawn on it.

A brief spell online today has finally convinced me to properly set up my PC so I can play Minecraft. The laptop was wearing a bit thin.

Won't be on too regularly as I'm very busy at the mo. Just out of interest, does initially claimed land de-claim itself after periods of inactivity? It claimed a small plot when I originally put down a chest but that's gone now. Not that I have anything of value, but is that my incentive to get a gold shovel now to re-claim it?

New plugin installed. :)

XPKeeper

Create a sign and put [xpkeeper] on the first line.

You can now store your XP and save it up.

With nothing in your hand, left click to deposit XP, right click to withdraw.

This is a new plugin so it may glitch. If you'd like to use it, be aware you may lose XP if it goes wrong. Please let me know how it goes.

I have a feeling that me having 41 levels was the reason for this plugin

Edit: @DQuaN It says I don't have permission to make an XPKeeper sign :odd:

So I finally got these ladies home, from around 26,000 blocks away:

Just need to start building my little zoo/menagerie now...

On another note, does anyone know how to get a cat out of a chest without destroying either?

EDIT: It jumped out when I bumped into the chest some and jumped on it...weird.
