I like the change to daily rotation. I do hope they switch it up sometimes with some events allowing tuning and others being fixed.

I also would love it if they had a calendar of events at least a week in advance, that way you can see what combos you prefer the most and prepare for those if you have limited time.

that doesnt change the fact that daily changing the event is not fun xD

but yeah, a uptodate calendar is absolut nessessary. Without it it looks more like: we do what we think in this second :)

If yo're ONLY gonna have 3 races going on then you HAVE to have daily rotation, I'd say change them out every 12 hours! Way better to have weekly races but TWELVE of them so we can ALL find what we like
and race all week getting better where we belong.

To have a calendar of events you need a game where the server admins are not making up the rules/schedule as they go on a daily basis. You need a strategic planner. Major fail here. Why not ONE Ring race yet? Is a 1 lap ten minute race too long for the average GTS players attention span?!? Of course Q would take a whole 10 mins too...oh dear.

All day has been a shunt fest...I started almost up to B now im almost down to D again. Start 4th finish last, no-one knows their lines or cars so just punting off other cars to stay on track.
This is NOT the game you wake on your day off or get home from work to and think hey this will be fun, I'm gonna do THIS, this is the game you start up fingers crossed praying PLEASE let it be fun today?

It's probably just unfortunate that some drivers who make the race don't qualify first to know and learn the track which would cause less shunting as they would know where to brake and overtake etc... I like making my first laps in quali and gradually chopping the lap down finding where I can make up time and when It feels like I'm within a second of what I consider a good hotlap... then I will start thinking about taking it to a race ;)

Also the reverse tracks are in the game and the sooner we familiarize ourselves with them the better it will be on track for all

Appalling decision, the weekly races really let you learn each track and take the time to tune each car properly.

But the decision to do away with tuning has effectively ruined Sport mode, setting up a car is one of the most important aspects of motorsport - every great driver takes on hands on approach to getting their car just right for a race - and now they've decided to just remove it? The default set-up for many of the cars are awful and many cars will be undriveable (try the Alfa Gr.4 at Kyoto with changing any settings), even if they use set-ups different from the default ones they won't take into account different driving styles which can play a huge factor in how a car is set-up.

amen

thanks for the great tuning tips and advice for car setups!!

on another note --- GT should satisfy everyone and have "Daily" AND "Weekly" options .. i gotta admit its nice practicing a track throughout the week and finally winning a race right before the track switches over.

so yea IMO we need daily AND weekly races

The problem with too many events is it spreads the community too thin and Matchmaking is no longer effective.

I think around 3 seems like the right number but each week should be treated like a race event. Personally I thought the best way they could do this is to have 3 tracks that stay fixed for a period but each day they rotate the category at that track. then we have a calendar so we know what days each different car/s race. They could stagger Gr3 and Gr4 at each track so there would always be at least one racing. Like this, Monday Gr4 track 1, Tuesday Gr3 Track 1, Wednesday Gr4 Track 2, Thursday Gr3 Track 2, Friday Gr4 Track 3, Saturday Gr3 Track 3. Sunday would always have Gr3 and Gr4 at 2 of the tracks and the rest of the slots would be filled with a variety of events. And a calander would show us what would be where in advance so people can plan if they want or need to.

Well that's kind of the thing I was hoping for. They could even throw in a special 4th event on weekends.

I raced the 2nd last day of Kyoto and no one knew their lines and was shunting so I don't think it is track rotation causing it. I think people have just got fed up with trying to race clean and we have reached a tipping point. I think perhaps damage needs to be introduced in at least one event.

Yeah the new changes to sport were very disappointing, I was turned off by the idea of no solo career mode and even decided not to buy the game but project cars 2 was absolute trash and I had no choice. After playing the sport mode for a week I actually began to enjoy it and understand what polyphony was going for but now with no tuning it's basically going to be a one car beats all situation. What's the deal with games promising one thing and then patching the game to hell? Seems most games are doing this nowadays.

You'e right it is part of it. I have actually grown to like Maggiore GP II now. Been turning 2:12s in the race. But can' get my quali below 2:14... go figure huh

I don't know why people think this is permanent. They had fixed sets, then they had events with tuning, now they are back to fixed sets. From that I am not going to assume fixed sets are permanent, I would assume events will continue to vary, some with tuning, some without and soon enough we will start to see other options we have not seen yet. We might even see events with restricted entry and damage turned on.

Draft.

Does anyone know what bhp the RSR, M6 and AMG GT were for the Nurbergring GP daily? I believe they were boosted a bit?

RSR: 590kw Torq: 742,2 Nm 1300kg now on the new daily
M6: 590kw Torq 742,2 NM 1300kg

Thanks for the setups and it makes sense not to allow setups in daily races as it is purely down to the best driver who wins, let's be honest we were using these setups to get an unfair advantage over people who never had a setup. :D

No, it's not about the best driver. Just look at the gr4 race. Top 10 leaderboard = alfa romeo 4c

If they would also force you to drive with a specific car it would be about the best driver. But like that... Just pick the best car for the track and you're good.

i would say: one low performance car race one gr4 one gr3 and one gr1 and changing that all 3-4 days, they should also include more possibilitys to see statistics like a skillrating ala iracing

switching now daily races into a joke.. its dunno... changing every day the dailies, no setup no worth to go into deph with the game, changing the leaderboard to a one car show because of locking setups...

oh dear... not even championships open with setups... the game lost it all right now...

iam absolut pissed atm

I saw a suggestion somewhere that looked to be the best middle ground.

N200/N300 races, obviously the setup is locked, you don't need to own the car etc etc.
These races should be on a shorter track, easier to learn, or an oval and can change daily.

GR.4 races, middle length tracks, 1:30-1:45 like we've been having - if they're going to lock the tuning they need to do a better job of making more cars viable. These races can change every 3-4 days, I think a good medium would be Mon-Thu then Fri-Sun.

GR.3 races, longer length tracks, 2+ minutes. Open tuning. Change these races every week.

Oh and unlock custom livery for GR.4 and GR.3

I think this is a fair solution as last week I could imagine the vast majority of more casual racers were tired of the N200 race after a day, and let's be honest. Most of the casual racers won't touch a GR.3 car, and some of them might not even touch a GR.4 car - so they were stuck racing a slow car around a long oval.

However, as a relative newcomer to racing sims, and somebody who prefers the GR.3 racing experience. I spent the majority of last week getting my qual time below 2.00, by the end of the week I could consistently put up 1.59.xx laps online.
Last night I logged in, and started doing a few laps of Suzuka and after 3 laps I just turned the game off as I remembered I wouldn't even be able to race this circuit tomorrow so why was I bothering learning it now.

Does the wheels effect the car too? What wheels should I use on Gr.4 GTR? Thank you very much

if u mean the steering wheel, iam driving with a g29 and yeah its a huge difference between gamepad and wheel. But in gt sport it may be not that huge difference between pad and sim...

i dont want to put in something like: with a wheel ur 2 secs faster but iam sure that u faster with wheel and also more in touch with the handling of the car

Just had one of the best races so far with your tune. After 20 minutes of fast, and completely clean racing, the entire top 3 finished within 0,5 seconds of eachother. Because of a mistake I made earlier I lost my P1, but in the second to last corner (of the last lap!), I managed to overtake P1/P2 and won the race with nothing to spare! :D

Nice over take

Oh sorry I mean the tyre XD
What tyre are u using on GTR gr4. I don’t know why I can’t chase those players online, even at the top speed with your set up. Thanks Minkihl~

Yes.. damage needs to be implemented. For the first couple weeks, it was only sporadic if I was racing against the over aggressive drivers. This week, it's been every damn race. I've shied away from the oval tracks because we just stay bunched up. I avoid all contact always, but I constantly will get hit from behind when I'm braking approaching a curve and dippy behind me is on my bumper. My driver rating is tanking due to the aggressive drivers and no fault of my own. With damage turned on, it will make people back off.

/bump

Added Maggiore and i drove a few laps with The hurricane...ehm huracan..nice car...so i added the setup result of that 3 hrs session :)

hope u guys enjoy...

Hello,

I have a big issue with adjusting the gearbox for GT-R at KDP.
I realy do not know how you guys are adjusting this setting to reach these values. I tried already everything was was stated here and still nothing.
Can someone write exactly point by point what to do?

Thx a lot.

Have been avoiding Sport mode now until they get a few things sorted bit really enjoying time trials on some tracks. Loving my RSR too.

Minkihl, do you think you can do some fine tuning for this car at some if the more interesting tracks?

To say something about the current sport mode: drove since the change 5 races. Only crashing crashing crashing...nobody has track exp. My favorite car feels like a old sponge and dunno, i dont like how the cars behave right now.

My last race yesterday, i was on 5, the guy infront of me ( i dont wanna know what happend before) crashed in the first corner at interlagos with around 200kmh into his mate infront... the car infront flys 100m somewhere, while he was driving like nothing happend... at the end he got +2 or 3 secs.

So come on I dont want a useless sportmode, which has nothing to do about any e sport.... at the end..if someone like mario kart on nintendo: Drive gt sport sportmodus...

Adding: From News: We also plan to add long distance events into the mix to provide more enjoyable and diverse content to our players.

I hope so bad, that this mode rescues, for me, the sport mode

To your Question: Yeah i like the look of the car, but not so much driving with it..but i will do some practice on this car and i will post the resulting setups here...
