I know this car hasn't been in previous GT games but c'mon forza 3 even had it..
Car i'm talking about is the: Honda Civic TYPE-R GT (EU) 08'-11'

Sorry for the bump, but I cannot believe people have not mentioned the black/grey color variant of the AE86:

The color was known as High Sonic Toning, and was only available in the first GT. :(

Another car i should mention is the blue Ford Focus Rally car from GT2, sadly it was only in GT2, no other GT game has had it in that color, just that plain, crappy white one!:yuck: It's like a blank coloring book.

From Gran Turismo 3

Mitsubishi
  • Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII Rally Car Prototype

I wish we had the Weirgert W8, it was awesome, I liked how the back looked like.
and the engine whine as well was cool

^My guess is that those were the 2009 lineup, but with the delay of the game they put the 2010 cars instead.
I believe the 2009 series cars were supposed to be the Car of Tomorrow, but they switched them back to the old configuration because drivers couldn't get used to them.

The funny thing is there are 4 or so Skylines in that list, i mean who knew they missed any ???????

I also found it odd, humourous etc that there were skylines missing, but there are even more than just the ones listed in the OP. But the one that really should have been brought through, but for some reason wasn't, is the R33 GTS models. (FR) Okay, so we're going all the way back to GT2, but it's an epic model, and would certainly have been better than retaining the two "colour variation" R34's.

Um, you forgot about the 1996 Dodge Viper GTS that was in GT1 & almost in GT2.
It came in Blue w/ white stripes & in Solid Red.

I remember being really disappointed that in the GT2 intro movie, they had a few British Touring Cars featured (quite a lot of times!), but apart from the Alfa 155, I could never find them. (However I may have not been looking hard enough).

Apparently they were there, but nevertheless, not in GT5

0:58 (Green Renault Laguna off track on left), 1:35 (Vauxhall Vectra, Honda Accord, Nissan Primera, etc), 2:31 (Peugeot 406 et al), 2:34 (Nissan).

Also what is that at 1:16?

I think it was Celica (Wedsport) maybe?

In that picture there seems to be a BMW touring car behind the Celica (going by the chequered flag vinyl). I don't think this is the same one we have in GT5?

Edit on closer inspection the side of the car says Vervis Racing. Google brought up a picture of a Corolla (AE86?) from the Cartown forums that has the same livery and could be the same car with a different rear wing.

It was a JGTC GT300 Car like the Celica.

I still wanna know what happened to this car.

The kit in GT Auto won't let you make your 370GT look anything like it.

Different bumper, grille, etc. Also the concept had Enkei wheels, while the 370GT in GT5 is not available with them.

The strangest thing about it's exclusion is that a company actually developed a bodykit for the 370GT based on the one the car had from GT5:P, which was an original piece made by Gran Turismo! You'd think they'd be more proud of that.

The car behind the Weds Sport Celica GT is the BP Apex Kraft Trueno GT. It's apparently an another Toyota GT300. :D. It appeared only in Gran Turismo 2. In real life, it participated in JGTC 1999.
