You are an idiot you know that. These cars are no where in the same class, the EVO is a freakin street driven race car, and the new one will be the best one yet.

Once again

Civic = econobox
Evo = Street race car

End of freakin story

HAHAHAHAHA I owned a modified Honda a while ago and it was quick. But you said the only thing it could eat was a mini van after the comment made about the Civic's. But the Evo is a better car. No question about it.

yeah stock its better. what i was saying is that THIS new car is UGLY. not that the evo is slow. i was saying it LOOKS like it could only eat a mini van.

Then you should have said that, you need to learn to word things better

pSI civic
so all the races that honda has won they won with econo boxs?
He said the Civics were econoboxes, not all Hondas.

If my Acura was an econobox, I would have never sold it.

your the jack ass that brought it up. you've never riddin in a quick honda so shut your mouth.

I believe the word you were looking for is infact "you're" in the first sentence. If you can't speak simple english don't try and critique someone else. Having said this, you can't even closely put the Civic in the same catagory as an Evolution. Even the fastest Civic will never touch even a half modified EVO.

Well anyways to steer this back on course...

I'll be curious to see if they are going to run this in the WRC, and maybe Mitsu will have a chance.

Not many big event races though compared to their sybling, the NSX.

But no offense, they're not at all street-sports cars. They're just small economy cars who's sole purpose is for transportation of Point A to B. It wasn't built with sporty parts at all due to this.
All cars are like that THOUGH, an NSX is built with sport parts to give it more power, to make it worth driving....

I guess, in my words, I'd say
Civic=For those who don't care about how they get there, they just get there.
NSX=For those who want to have something making it worth a drive.

i beg to differ. there is a guy right now with w 1.5l 2001 civic trying to do over 206mph which is the world civic speed record. there are also fwd civics running 8's.

now that said i didnt put them in the same class on the street.

doulbe wishbone front and rear isnt sporty? a sub 1 ton car isnt sporty?

I don't follow the WRC much, but I had heard after Makinen's leaving of Mitsubishi to a Subaru, Mitsubishi started loosing their touch in rallying, loosing to Subaru quite a bit.

Subby's not doing so well any more also...but I'll be curious to see how this'll work out.

Because he BUILT it that way. Honda didn't.

You're trying to compare a modified car to a stock car which is stupid. We're talking stock against stock.

Meh McLaren, remember the mentality of a lot of Honda boys, there cars are uber 1337 and everything else sucks. I used to be like that when I had my Civic....Jesus my old self was an ass.

Nvm...My sis' and I had Acuras.

*cough cough* ;)

Civics are not sporty, ok. The Civic Si is different.

The Civic, as stated, is an econobox. It is designed to: get good gas mileage, be inexpensive to produce, buy, and maintain, have decent amounts of space and comforts, and be safe. The Civic Si is a sportiER econobox. It gets good gas mileage, yadda yadda yadda, but also has a bit more power and is quicker through the curves. The Type R... honestly I can't say much about that because we don't get it, so I don't hear much about it.

The NSX, while a tad bit underpowered, is very sporty.

BTW, I love the way this car is just SO aggressive, especially the rear. I think I'd touch up the front a bit before buying though.

Well my Dad owns a Civic Type R as a second car and it really is sporty. It is light and the the 200 hp Vtec runs up to 9000 rpm - Honda is known to produce world's best engines - the S2000 is still holding the world record for most hp per litre !
I drive a slightly modified Subaru Impreza WRX STi ( which can be compared best to the Evo ) with about 300 - 310 hp and of course it is faster than the Civic !
The Civic Type R is still an awsome car with superior handling - tuning without installing a turbo/supercharger ist not a big deal though which limits the high end capacity of the car. Honda is NA - I really hate those guys who install turbos and such...but that's another story...

class 1 : Civic / Integra Type R - Mazda RX8 - Subaru Impreza WRX
class 2 : Subaru Impreza WRX STi - Mitsubishi Evo
class 3 : Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, Honda NSX-R, STi spec C, Evo MR, Supra

sth like that... that is stock competition, massive tuning can change everything a lot and is not the question.

Concerning WRC :

Mitsubishi is recovering and might be fighting for the win again within the next two years or so.

Subaru is still a car that can win almost every rally, but since the PSA company
invested like 5 times more money than Subaru over the past years, they ruled the WRC ( more testing, more research etc etc, of course Loeb had his part,too), but now they can't /don't want to afford it anymore...

Er, no actually.

If you put a 2001 civic against a 2001 Ford Focus for example, the Civic would get creamed.

The civic Type R is definetly a sporty little number. It looks like a freakin race car however the rest of the civic line up is quite frankly ****e and everyone knows it.

Might as well change the topic title to "civics vs. the world.". Jeez.

Never seen a Civic Jordan? they are basicly a clone of the EK9 Type-R but with 17bhp less!

So you cant say The EP3 Type-r is the only good lookin one!

Yes I have seen it and well it doesnt look all that sporty infact the ek9 civic type -r's were kinda boring compared to the last/current (depending where you live cause its now discuntinued in the UK) gen.
