Torre said he'd give it another looking over to determine if Utley needs any discipline for it. Utley has a long history of going out of his way to make these dirty plays and it's overdue for disciplinary action and rule changes.

Arizona Fall League is going with a rule change that baserunners have to slide into bases on the base path and any deviation will be ruled an out automatically. That's where the MLB tests rule changes before implementing them in the MLB, and owners are already for such a rule change to occur. The rule changes for pace of game were tested there last year.

The psychological advantage of winning Game 3 of a best-of-5 series can be huge. One can enjoy a cushion while the other will try to regain their mojo. Houston and Kansas City are 1-1 with this leg of the ALDS. Gaining the 2-1 advantage in the series was my Astros, winning 4-2 today. The Astros' first postseason game as an American League team ended successfully behind the arm of Dallas Keuchel. He picked up the win for the Astros and got a Save from Luke Gregerson to combine on the HOU win. Edinson Volquez was KC's losing pitcher.

Game 4 of this series is tomorrow. If Kansas City wins tomorrow's game, the series will return to Kansas City this Wednesday to determine who advances to the ALCS.

Report is that Ruben Tejada's broken leg may be career ending, not just year-ending. In addition, Don Mattingly is strongly considering starting Chase Utley in tomorrow's game.

The Astros were looking good and feeling good leading by a good bit in this game. However, Kansas City man'd up and beat Houston 9-6 here in Houston. So this Wednesday in Kansas City determines which team will head to the ALCS.

I really don't understand the Dodgers move to Wood as mop up man. Now they are forced to play Kershaw even if they come back and win this game.

Their plan was to use Kershaw if Game 4 ended up being must-win. That is the situation for them. :D

The Chicago Cubs will meet the winner of NYM/LAD in the National League Championship Series (NLCS). The Cubbies took down the 100+ win St. Louis Cardinals with a 6-4 victory in Chicago. Trevor Cahill and a Save from Hector Rondon combined for the CHC win. For STL, the losing pitcher was Kevin Siegrist.

Two seasons will end tomorrow when Texas returns to Toronto and when Houston returns to Kansas City. The ALCS will be set once both teams complete these games. Both of these are Game 5 situations. Win and advance; fail and season over.

ANYTHING can happen. As we say, "you can't script October."

I'm seeing a bunch of highlights videos on my facebook with Texas vs Toronto. Texas dropping a lot of balls while defending!

Toronto beats Texas 6-3, and Kansas City beats the Astros 7-2. Neither Texas team will advance into the ALCS. Johnny Cueto got the win for KC, and Collin McHugh took the loss for HOU. It was 2-1 in about the 4th inning when I last checked the score. Afterwards, I feared the Astros would likely drop this one. And sure enough... we did. So ANOTHER Houston team fails to deliver any sort of potential championship-winning performance. Same old m:censored:f:censored:ing song and m:censored:f:censored:ing dance. I had my doubts, but I still believed in the Astros. Just too bad this one ended the way it did. You could say the Astros' falling apart in Game 4 was a key factor, but this was still a terrible performance and a terrible way to go out.

I've officially stopped caring about the Postseason since my team is now eliminated. So congratulations to whomever wins the championship.

It's funny. Out of all of the teams left as of yesterday, the most recent World Series won by these teams was in 1993. In the NL it's 1988. It could be 1986 if the Mets pull it off tonight as Mets ace Jacob deGrom returns to LA after his 13 k performance on Friday to face Zack Greinke, who won his game 2 start. Mets will have all of their pitchers available except for Matz tonight. This will be a great game 5.

Is there such thing as a diehard fairweather fan? Lets be honest, if I offered the Astros a 0.500 season on opening day, they probably would have taken it. They have done a great job to finish up in the ALDS.

Just like last night, seasons will come to an end. It was Texas and Houston who saw their seasons end in the ALDS. Tonight, one NL team will meet the Chicago Cubs in the NLCS, and the other will see their season come to an end. Whose season will end- Blitz24's New York Mets or Villain's Los Angeles Dodgers? We'll see who'll advance with the Mets and Dodgers setting it off in Rancho Cucumonga.

Good luck to both teams, and congratulations to whomever advances to the NLCS.

Mets take 1 run in the top of the first. Lets hope this is a sign of things to come. :D
