Cracking photo's from a good nights racing.👍👍
Definately think the forward then reverse track formats working better than the old way.

Cheers Geordie, 👍 I will be sticking to this format for all future events. Everyone seemed to enjoy it more than the recommended race I ran for the first 2 events, and most people have already signed up for Rome, so we may have even more racers by the time it gets to April 7th.:nervous:

Yea great photos Ade you captured some good action :) I especially like the one of my car with, what I'm going to call, London's Time Square behind me ( just can't think of the name of it).

I'd like to join in. Can't usually do saturdays but am free for this one. If you have regulars needing spaces I will happily be a reserve.

jackargent/jackargent . Not sure of colour yet.

I just want to make sure, because I'm easily confused by time zone conversions...

Date Saturday 7th April
Room will open at 8.15pm GMT, qualifying will start at 8.30pm GMT

Is this in fact, BST, & not GMT??
ie: GMT+1
Or is it UTC, with no DST?

:nervous:

(I ask because DST has already started here in the Americas... and is slated to start March 25th in Europe.)

You are correct Watermelon. Thanks for that. We are still in GMT at the moment, but will change to BST when we move the clocks forward. I will change the post.

Just making sure! DST change last week caught me by surprise!! Despite the fact that I had been worried about it. :boggled:
(Time zones & DST are the bane of organized racing IMHO!! haha)

GMT changes to BST this Sunday, and there was me thinking I could get up an hour later than this Sunday to watch F1...Grrr

2 weeks to go until we take the Mini's to Italy, Going to have a couple of laps later and post my times. Has anyone else got any times yet? There is still room on the grid for a few more racers, so if you want to take part, let me know.👍

:nervous: I haven't had a chance to test yet...
Not that my lap times would be anything to envy.

On the up side though, I'm much better at Rome than London... and particularly better with Rome Reverse than London Reverse :boggled:
:D

OK, quick test at Rome, so far only using the same set up as London. This circuit is going to be good in these super tuned mini's I think, with a good pace nearly all the way round, and only a couple of turns that require heavy braking. Best time so far is 1:27.4xx, Reverse 1:27.0xx.

I did some initial testing today in the mini, with everything added, but set to stock transmission, stock suspension and standard differential, to get a feel for the car before tuning, which is not my strongest talent.
My laps were typical 1:27.3xx, to 1:28.2xx´s. Gearing all wrong on most parts of the track and the steering almost impossible, so I guess the car needs a lot of work before the race.
I'm wondering how to proceed with the tuning; tranny first, then LSD, then suspension?

@ ID_Racing : This car is geared TERRIBLE, and requires short shifting.
I recommend putting the LSD up higher than you think would be normal... to help with the gearing. (hard to explain, but the extra wheel spin is a problem).
Then make the 1st & 2nd gear "closer" together.
I put the top speed higher, and then closed up the gears...
Not perfect, but definitely better.

In the 1st London Race, I'd gotten disconnected from the lounge, and it reverted to the wrong settings sheet without me knowing it or having chance to change it again - with the gearing all wrong, and that was TERRIBLE. :scared:

The right front tire was red almost all around the track, so that might be the way to start tuning? getting the wheelspin in check and the power to the cobbelstone, so to speak...

Yes, this is pretty much the advice from a pal who is expert with tuning, who tried to help me tune this car. He predicts it might never be possible to completely tune out the "red" wheel spin entirely. And I certainly haven't been able to.
BUT, it is possible to tone it down, and get it in a more manageable.

At first I was confused by people's recommendations of higher LSD settings... I almost never put LSD settings so high, especially in such a low power car. :boggled: (These LSD settings more resemble what I'd do for an upgraded luxury saloon or Ferrari!)
But in this car, it is preferable. Indeed, it won't slow you down as much as spinning the wheels in the wrong gear will.

That said, I'm not the fastest driver out there in ANY car.

Great to see that you are getting ready for the race.👍 My set up needs a bit of work, so I will be practicing like mad next week for this.

Mind if I join? :)

Not at all, welcome to mini madness. I will send you a PSN FR today.👍 Thats 14 racers for Rome now.

I'm a little leery about running a race with 16 people, what with all the lag issues, but sign me up, sounds like fun...Purple/Gold

Your in.👍 The last race (London) we ran had 13 racers, with no reported lag issues, so hopefully we should be OK. (Headsets off for the race). Will send you a PSN FR tonight.

Just as a heads up ade, I'm bloody away back over the border for a wedding for the next MM

You'd think I could organise my real life better considering the MM is on a monthly basis :sly:

Anyway, once this is out the way, I'd go as far to say my year will be clear of family engagements 👍

OK mate, no worries, back to 14 on the grid, anymore takers?

Is it too late to sign up for this? I am interested to join and I think I have a mini somewhere in my garage.

EDIT: I just looked and I don't have a Mini 1.3. I would like to request for a spare, please.
