I'd like to sign up, but tentatively. I won't know if I can make it until closer to the time. So feel free to bump me for someone that can confirm attendance.

OK Zorrin, but let me know your PSN please so I can send you a FR, or is it any of the 3 in red?

Rome practice tomorrow at 8.00pm BST. Anyone is welcome to join. We will have 20 minutes free run, then several 3 lap races with reverse grid from previous race to test online race physics. We will do this for both Rome and Rome reverse.

I will be there :) .

Any spaces left Ade? I'll be there if there is.

I will add you to the list as Zorrin is not sure if he can attend. Which PSN name will you be using?

The first ever Mini Madness scheduled practice session will be open in half an hour.

Big thanks to all who attended the practice session tonight. The races on Saturday should be mental if tonight is anything to go by. We had several short races with 9 on the grid tonight, and if we get the full 16 on Saturday things will be even tighter.:nervous:

Hey going to have to drop out of this race, no access to my PS3 this weekend. Have a good race!

OK Cooper, no worries. It is a shame as its the first one you will miss.

Still 16 on the grid.

You don't know what you've been missing!!!!

In other news... my gearing is nasty getting off the start, and I keep lighting up my right front tire on the sweeping turn.

Anyone have any tips for me?
I finally got things mostly under control... But that lift-off at the start... :(
How is everyone else taking off like they're jet-propelled???

I have my top speed set to 124mh, and my final gear at 3900.

hi lads,

as i missed practice last night i have no idea what pace i will need to be doing to keep up, can somebody tell me what lap times i should be aiming for ?
its just so i can get some laps in before saturday and hopefully be competitive..

Oh, thanks, will try!
Perhaps I'm starting with a top speed that's too high...

The way I see it you want to have as much acceleration as possible so I try and set my transmission so that on the long straights I redline just when I am about to brake for a corner and then I know no more acceleration without decreasing the car's speed too much can be squeezed out of it. But in the real race it is quite likely you will be slipstreaming people which increases acceleration due to less wind resistance. So after I get my transmission right I increase the final drive ratio by about 1.458 to allow more room for slipstreams. But I will have to try the transmission setup suggested on here 👍 .

I wasnt getting any better than 1:26.xxx's last night, some of the front runners were in the 24's, with reverse being slightly quicker.

How on earth are people getting 1:24's in Mini's?! The best I got was 1:25.xxx but that was with slipstreaming in 3rd place. And do you remember when I was always finishing in 4th place, no matter what I did? Scary stuff :nervous: .

Yeah I think the best time I saw up on the board was 1:24, but I haven't gotten that myself!!! :scared:

NOTE: ON REVERSE:

I think it takes unusually high risk taking immediately before that tight corridor, to get a powerful run up the hill.

I don't have the stomach for that in a gaggle of minis crammed into that space!

And indeed, that's where I saw MANY of the fastest racers wiping out regularly.
