If the race started 1 hour earlier (8:30pm Eastern) would you participate?

I am very new to GT5. Can I come in to just watch next Monday? IF you don't mind that, what do I have to do? My PlayStation Network name is the same as I use on this form.
Of Course. I'll add your name to the list.

I'd like to join but haven't raced online before - is that ok? I have no problems coming in last as long as it's an enjoyable race :D

I think we should keep it completely and 100% a street-car only restriction race and let each individual tune their cars to his or her best ability. What do you guys think?

Exactly. Plus, even if a race car has the same weight and/or power, they still have downforce which helps them greatly.

I would love to come race with you guys, I promise to stick it out to the end even if I'm lapped lol, and race super clean, so can I join?

I wanted to clarify the downforce option - what if you used a premium streetcar and added a wing to it? I'm assuming it's implied that any car (street or otherwise) where downforce can be modified wouldn't be eligible?

You make a reasonable point. It's my understanding that race vehicles allow for front and rear downforce adjustments whereas street cars only allow for rear adjustments. Someone with more experience should probably chime in to confirm that this is true and comment on how it makes any difference. My gut feeling is that street cars with wings are acceptable, but will withhold judgement for the time.

What about wings and adjustable rear down force ok , but no cars with adjustable front downforce? That would help eliminate some of the ultra fast tuner cars? Just a thought .

The reason I brought up that question was I was thinking of using a RM'ed car if they're permitted.

From what I've been reading a Racing Modified car would fall into the category of race car and therefore not be eligible. You wouldn't see a Racing Modified car on the street and I believe that is what the intention here is. Think of it as something someone would use as a daily driver but put some extra money into for an occasional track day.

Nice idea Benda, I'm interested. So are we set enough in the restrictions to where I should do some testing and pick out my car?

Yeah, at this point 99% of stuff is tied down. I can't imagine changing anything, only adding things which I've overlooked. This event is already becoming overly-complicated. I should re-title it to "OCD Grand Valley 150KM."

So what is everyone planning on racing? I've spent a lot of time tonight in a tuned Ford RS200 and I just don't think it's going to work for me. Not getting enough laps on a single set of tires. Going to try to tune some more this week and figure out my backup ride.

Hey man, I can't comply to the schedule. I'd love to be in, but simply can't. So please give that spot to someone that can make it.

Got in some practice time tonight with Prophet. With full damage on it looks like this is going to be an exciting event.

I'll be doing some extensive testing in the next few days to find out what the best bet will be. Will let ya know asap.

Thats one of the biggest reasons I'm interested in this event. I've been looking for something during the week because my weekends are always busy and Monday's are great as my other addiction, Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey, isn't usually on Monday.

Jav, I'm sorry the schedule doesn't work for you, weekends are just too busy for me to predict free time. And like others here I've been looking for something decent to do during the week. Hopefully this first race is a success and we can make it a regular event.

For anyone interested I'll be practicing in an open lobby tomorrow evening (thurs) starting around 8:30pm. I'll post the room number here.
