Montoya - doubtful

Montoya slipped while playing tennis and developed a 'hairline crack' and some tissue injuries. Doubtful for Bahrain. Maybe it will be his backup Pedro de la Rosa's time to shine. :sly:

F1racing.com says he could be out for the next three races!

McLaren's Juan Pablo Montoya could miss up to three grands prix with a fractured shoulder. The Colombian, who fell on a tennis court last week, has been advised to rest the injury for a full five weeks, according to the Spanish 'Marca' newspaper

👎 !

Mark Webber has been racing with a fractured rib all season.

I'm sure Montoya could race one handed :D, it is his own fault afterall.

Sucks to be Montoya right now. But, this should give the Williams drivers a better chance to shine since one of their major rivals is now out of the question for the next little while.

Mr. Mika
Yep, own fault indeed. I wonder what Ron Dennis has to say..?

I would guess not a lot really as it was during a McLaren approved training session with JPM's trainer, who is an employee of McLaren not of JPM's. As for JPM missing three races I think that is a bit of over exageration by some newspapers as the specialised motoring press is reporting he will be back at Imola (the next round).

I love JPM. Only he could hurt himself like this playing tennis. Sad to see him not race, would prefer to see Wurz in the race but the whole fitting in the car thing is an issue..hahaha.

JPM is not having a good start with McLaren is he?

it depends on which bone and exactly were ht fracture, is, a fracture in that area could limit his ability to even has his arm up in the posision needed to grip the wheel. A cracked rip doesnt limit your movement like a fracture in the shouldour would, although it most likely hurts jsut as much

i was quite amused at Wurz not fitting in the car as well...anyway i highly doubt he will be out for 3 races...im sure his annoying wife will nurse him back to health...

After seeing the great show put by Pedro I really don't miss Montoya at all.
He can take 1 year to cure his fracture, the longer the better .
If I was Ron I would downgrade JPM to the role of test pilot, that would teach some humility to that arrogant guy.

well i doubt that will happen but maybe this will show some other teams what de la rosa can do...spanish drivers sure are moving up in the world...

Montoya just doesn't seem to be able to keep the tires decent for the whole race, they drop off to quickly on his car. Hopefully he gets more comfortable with it throughout the season.
