MORE Customization/ upgrade options.

A combination of Tokyo Extreme Racer 3's and Forza's visual/performance upgrade system with Forza's livery editor. It might still be a little simplistic in places, but I think it'd be better than the GT5 system (even ignoring the livery editor).

I love the idea of changing wheel width. An example for me is the new Fiat 500 on GT5. If you buy the wide(ish) front aero part, the wheels are quite far inside the car. If you could make the tyres wider to fit that, the car would turn better and look better.

The previous guy stating exhuast mufflers - I like his thinking. I'd love to choose the type of muffler without affecting sound. Though frankly I'd love to choose the type of sound as well. Take a fully tuned 458 as your example. I'm happy to sacrifice 15BHP in order to go for the semi racing exhuast just so the car doesn't sound like a gaggle of angry wasps in a tin can! So being able to choose the sound would add to the 'personalisation' PD speaks of. Even swapping half of the sound GT5 already has could make it somewhat better. Chapparal 2J exhuast on a tuned BMW M3 anyone?

However, I digress. I would love a more extensive level of visual and performance modification. To be able to alternatively change front bumpers, front splitters, front canards, side skirts, rear bumpers, rear diffusers, rear lip spoilers, rear wings, and even roof scoops for a slight increase in performance would be fantastic. However, I doubt this will happen.

What I think he meant was that even if a livery editor was included, wouldn't there be outbreaks of immaturity? Think about it. In Call of Duty: Black Ops, nearly every emblem you see involves some sort of sexual innuendo. Now, the GT community isn't perfect, so if there was a livery editor, you might expect to see a few penises and boobs driving around.
Other developers ALREADY found a way to prevent that.
This what you can do in GRID 2.

With a "pre-made" livery editor like GRID 1 and now GRID 2 all the obscene liveries argument become old. You can't make your own design you can just choose what developers are giving you.
There are 2 bigs advantages:
1 - no way to create obscene content
2 - very fast way to create a custum livery

You all better find another excuse because this one HAS BEEN ADRESSED.
;)

I love the idea of changing wheel width.

Start from 18 sec.

PD need to invent nothing, all this stuff has already been done by others. The amount of excuses I've heard against livery editor and customization is borderline trolling.

The pre designed livery idea with them being available on each customisable car seems the best compromise. Just as long as they don't go for those cliched star designs and F&F style base paints and stick to designs inspired by Martini stripes or Gulf colours.

Of course they can design what they want. If they don't like F&F I'm ok with Martini / Gulf style liveries. There are plenty of cars to get inspiration from. Blancpain Endurance Series for instance.

This would make me sad. Every car pre-baked, a few patterns, a few sponsors, a few colorable sections, and I get to make my car unique by using color combos like green and violet that no one else but someone color blind would consider. Ew. I don't get why it needs to be repeated every five posts on this topic, but THIS is the answer to those squeamish souls who are afraid of seeing something ugly or naughty. People who for whatever reason will wallow in the intranets where even game and toothpaste ads get pornographic, go figger.

  • Hide custom liveries

Simple, yes no? ;)

i would say (and some of this may have been said, some by me before GT5 came out)

1. Tire and wheel sizes, width, offset, weight all of it plays a drastic role on the cars handling... im baffled this option is still MIA in GT.

2. A bit more JDM tuning, PLEASE, PD is from the motherland of car tuning, im sure they can source a few more body kits, spoilers, exhaust sounds and wheels.

3. A livery would be nice, but i personally woudlnt even use it much, even when i played forza it was "just there" for me, but adding stickers and being able to a bit more then just paint the car would be nice.

4. PLEASE KEEP THE "USED CAR LOT"... but No more standard cars, please. make them all fully modeled cars, even if there is going to be less cars in the game at least they all look up to PD standard, function well and are fully customizable and it would be a real treat to see some of the used cars from GT2 in full detail.

Something we don't have is swapping drivetrains. In the Rolex Sports Car, Swedish TCC and V8SC, THERE ARE THREE CARS THAT ARE FWD road cars converted to RWD. The Mazda6 Diesel in Rolex, Volvo S60 in STCC and the VOLVO S60 & Nissan Altima in V8s. PD have made an Atenza/Mazda6 Touring car for GT in AWD. This would be a welcome addition to the RM upgrade. I think the Audi A4 in BTCC is even RWD.

Would be nice to see that. Say, a little movie lasting a fews secs of a man waving the flag as your car goes through the start/finish line... 👍

👍
Well what do you know we actually now have a chequered flag. In some cases you have to strain your eyes to spot it, but it's there. I have a problem with the absence of engine sound in some races. No engine sound for up to almost two laps. Other races where engine sound starts immediatly there is a stutter in the sound. Very irretating when one has to watch the rev counter to see when you have to change and so take your eyes off the track. How are these glitches resolved. I'm not yet on line. I would like to receive some information on how these glitches have been fixed in the past.

I don't know that you can fix it, I think we're waiting on PD to fix it for us. Strange that it affects you so often, I've had a tiny delay in sound at a race start once (Rome, exhaust change - could have been either of those or the "new" bug) and one instance of it dropping out and weirding out (high pitched).

Oh, I don't have music on when racing. That could be it, especially if you're using a custom playlist. I do use my own music for replays, although it's actually been turned down since before I experienced these oddities (doesn't seem to stop it loading the music tracks, though, oddly - is the same true in-race?).

Otherwise, I guess the claim that "all the PS3s are the same" is holding even less water now.

This probably isn't the thread for it, though!

We need more:
Body kits
Aero dynamic part options.
Sponsor ship stickers would be kinda cool but no liveries this isnt forza.
Driveterrain swaps
a little more tunning options
A little more upgrade parts and options.
Realistic upgrades (like making a rx7 with 700hp like in real life(mainly d1)
NO STANDARD CARS
More drifting options, events, and d1 cars
More tracks

Add what you want no pictures please...
Other than making all of the cars premium, I think everything else on this guy's list can be done easily in the PS3 version of GT6. It would be easy for PD to add more aero kit parts and body kits, and God knows the hackers proved the drive train swaps could work in GT5.

What I want is for cosmetic changes to not count as tuning. I doubt my Sambabus performs differently when I put a chrome bumper on instead of the stock bumper. Or my Alpine when I remove the extra rally headlights. To have them disqualified when the "no tuning" option is enabled in online lounges is a quite ridiculous. I can understand if flat floors and huge spoilers and wings are not allowed, but a chrome bumper?

I guess it's because those changes are classified as "aero parts", when really they are cosmetic changes.

Good thing we can still change rims though, although I suspect a change of rims should have a bigger performance impact than a change of bumper.

There is a current shape A4 in BTCC that is RWD.

- rotary intake porting
- engine swaps (I need a 4-rotor)
- aftermarket bumpers
- ability to change width and offset of your wheels (to swag jdm stance)
- porsche
- premium ae86 (I don't care about all the other cars)
- rgb painting
- stickers so I can get more horsepower
- drivetrain swaps, because they're expensive as hell irl

That's equivalent to tweaking the cams and valves in ordinary car engines; it should be covered with the engine upgrades.
