This song from Despicable Me 2 is an ultimate example for the most annoying song ever. I hear it everywhere, in the street, on TV, and on the radio, and I'm getting annoyed with it real quick. Whenever I hear this song, I'm the exact opposite of the song's title, either it be sad, annoyed, irritated or pissed. Not happy.
GT Planeteers beware.

All you're doing is listing popular songs, most of which are actually really good, and have fantastic lyrical qualities.

Also, it's "Most Annoying Song". Not "What Songs Are Currently Very Popular/Irk You Slightly In Some Way".

You find songs annoying because they're in foreign languages? Whut?
It's not just that, you know. East Los FM's music (from GTA V) not only has lyrics you can't understand, but the sound of the songs are not very good (much like one of the songs named "El Sonidito" in East Los FM). They have a great amount of annoying auto-tune as well.

Well, that song... that's annoying even if you do understand Spanish.

Still, comprehensibility is not a necessity for appreciating good music. Case in point: Bjork (actually, her pidgin English is part of the charm) or Daft Punk. ;) Think of the vocals in the instrumental sense. Or even better:

"Happy", I see nothing wrong with it. It's nostalgic (lots of old school funk in there), well crafted, lyrically playful, has good dynamic changes and it's easy on the ears. Which is why it was nominated for an Oscar (but lost to that other incredibly overplayed song from Frozen... )

Granted, it could get irritating if played over and over, but as someone who's had to splice an hour's worth of orchestral music for use in a graduation (back when we had to do these things on tape), anything can become annoying if overplayed. The question is whether the song is annoying on the first playthrough or whether you're just annoyed because everyone is playing it everywhere.

I couldn't agree more with this! I absolutely hate this song! Not just because it's overplayed either.

To me, listening to this song is the same as where scientists experimented on dogs and studied their behaviour by placing them in a situation where they couldn't escape and were electrocuted. Not enough to cause damage but to cause distress. As this carried on the scientists took them out of this situation making it possible for them to leave if they wished. However these dogs learned to accept their fate of being electrocuted. It was called 'learned helplessness'.

You know what's even worse than "Happy"? The banana song, sung by the minions. It's so downright annoying, I almost dug my own grave.

I'm not bashing you, but do you like any song? If so, give an example because most of the songs you hate sound great IMO. (Not counting Call Me Maybe.)
:odd:

**You already know that Call Me Maybe is the worst song on earth, the universe and Heaven, and is the favorite song of all the demons in the Underworld.

If we were living in the world of Doom and Rickroll is playing, we would all get killed.
