Hi guys... what do you think about Motegi Track ?

Me i'm not impress at all... very boring track, not enough a long track, no fast corner, graphics are not very great... not a lot of details... hope it will be free for gt5 coz it's gonna be a bad DLC... maybe we can hope for the Superspeedway for nascar and formula races...

and what about the final challenge of the Academy.... only one lap... i think to find the best drivers in the world it should be like the total of 3 or 5 consecutive laps or something like that and it should have a maximum of try... like 10 times... coz we all know that someguys will spent like 8 hours everyday on this to be in the top ... that suck... loosers.. loll coz who is the best the guy who did 1,32,871 in 4 laps or the guy who did 1,31,266 in 765 laps loll

Well tbh all the top guys probably would be able to do a 1.32 in 4 laps. It's enviable that they will get quicker and quicker with more time/laps.

Its not the full track you know. Stop complaining, people have quick times because they put the effort in and practice a lot. I have a 1:32.7 but i'm going to be practicing more, whether or not i manage a time in the 1:31 is hard to say, since i use the pad consistent 1:32.xxx times are a bit tricky.

First of all, I didnt try it yet, but from what I read the GTA one is not the full track, we will hopefully get the full track as DLC. The full track far better in my opinion. I also like that layout actually, I think Motegi is pretty cool, it's pretty technical and reward driver over power.

Well you may think that but obviously the guys behind GTA dont think and guess what, they pick. Judging from the result of the drivers in the programn, they seems to know what they do.

I'll ask you a question now, as a team director, you would prefer someone that is going on the track everyday for 8 hours and is able to do 1mn.20sec a lap or do you prefer someone that is doing 8 hours per week on the same track and is able of doing 1mn.21sec a lap ?

I know I'll take the fastest and most passionate driver for my team personaly.

Oh jeez, where do I start?

OK firstly, you know it's a real circuit right? Not something PD put together specifically to entertain you. Secondly, it's not a long track but the clue is in the name Twin Ring Motegi EAST SHORT COURSE. It's not the full circuit, which is a lot longer.

Furthermore there are several fast corners (unless you are just a bad driver), and it is overall a pretty fast track with some very fast straights. Track graphics are per usual and just fine, there isn't a lot of trackside detail but that's because there isn't in real life. They aren't going to put hot dog stands in for people to stop and look at.

Finally, you are honestly saying that casual gamers who don't want to put much effort in should be rewarded over "loosers" (looser than what?) who practice, show dedication and tenacity and are rewarded by good times? In answer to your question, the best guy is the one with the quickest time, who may have been running 1:32.xxx 4 laps in, but kept practicing, honing his technique and shaving off those vital tenths of seconds. The key is that hundreds or thousands of people will run 1:32's, only a handful are good enough AND dedicated enough to run 1:31's.

Some of those guys will be jumping into real race cars eventually. Hard work reaps rewards and I know if I was a team boss who I would rather have in my cars, it would be those guys rather than some flippant casual racer who insults anyone who puts real effort in.

I think the track is great and good fun. As for calling others losers for going after their dream? Well, i'm just going to assume that you aren't very good.

Yeah you're right...

No but what i mean is get a life... get a job.. it's not normal to pass that much time on a video game... and you know what i play gt5 too much myself:P ( 234 000km loll most of them in Nascar loll)

and i tried it for fun and prizes anyway in Canada we can qualify so 4 laps yesterday for me and 7 this morning are enough for me... i only did 1,33,611 and i'm 27th currently in my country

The current number 1 in the world for Motegi is Samurai_405 with 1:31.048, the time was set with DS3 stick. I wonder how fast stick player will be by the end of GTA.

To be honest, I expected a level playing field for 8-5, no assist at all, including no ABS, time will be taken from an average of 3 laps run, but the player can retry freely without limit, that would be a lot better in my opinion.

Regarding the track, Motegi it's better than nothing, would be happy if it's free DLC.

i'm currently at work as i'm typing this....while everyone else in the world is improving their lap times.

meh..that whole you only get 10 laps business and that's it is silly. The person who invests the most time and ultimately gets a really fast lap gets rewarded. Simple as that.

I'm top 5 in the U.S. for now and work full time job doing IT consulting/support...your argument is invalid. Also, things I did before GT Academy yesterday: Work, mow lawn,
grocery shop, cook dinner, fix gearing on road bike while enjoying a brew THEN finally some hotlapping.

👍

Nice job on the 5th place spot. Good luck!

I agree with the no assists for the most part. Like people who are using assisted steering crap. But abs shouldnt be disallowed, kinda of stupid to me to say u cant use it when in real life they have abs!

👍 I personally think your time might be good enough all ready for top 32. I think a 31.5 is around cut off point imo. Im unfortunately still sitting at the 31.7 for now. Good luck scooty!

TRC Scooty
Thanks, but it won't last :P. There's plenty of hotlapping to be done until this thing is over.

Your 4th scooty. Let Canada in is from Canada. Unless mystats page isn't up to date. I'm gunning for a 30 today once I get outta this damn dentists office.

I don't know how ABS in game would correlate to real life racing, as we all probably aware that ABS in GT5 and GTA is more like brake assist which also might have hidden stability routine as well. It's very noticeable even when I'm using stick, the difference to the car stability and reaction close to the limit of tire grip when braking with ABS enabled is leaps and bounds. You should try once without ABS offline - just for fun, disconnect the internet while on the track, you'll feel the car becomes wild and raw:)

I tried offline once with ABS on, immediately I can handle the car much easier, much more composed, my time without ABS was 1:35.234, with ABS is high 1:32, easily shaved off 2 seconds. If I were the decision maker for GTA, I would not allow any assist, 3 laps average, unlimited retries. In the end, the winner would have a career in international motorsport, where not every racing series have cars equipped with ABS.

You are dead wrong and I despise people like you that tell others to get a life just because they play this game more than you think they should before knowing the whole story of that persons life. I play about 8 hrs. a day, sometimes more. Why? Because I have no life because I am handicapped and can't get a job or lead a normal life. This game, and my desire and determination to be the best, is what keeps me going. Handicapped, depression, this game has got me through it all. So, the next time you spout off, think first before you make your stupid ass comments.

I race with ABS off in normal competition but not in the GTA. The fact that you can't adjust the break balance in the GTA makes ABS 0 untenable.

I turned abs off for about 5 minutes, laughed, then went back to abs 1. My actual car (95 miata) has no abs and is a breeze to control under braking, even with oem pads up front and hawk HP+ in the rear to move the bias rearward. I daily drive and autox my car and have never had uncontrollable lockups sending me sideways even in the rain. Don't confuse harder with more realistic.

I admit no ABS is hard, but to prevent lock ups, never apply more than 60% brake force when hard braking form high speed -this is due to the screwy BB 5/5. PD should have allowed BB adjustment only when no ABS enabled.
My time with stick and no ABS have no lock up at all, now I wish I have a steering wheel ...I could shave at least 3 seconds alone if I could be smoother with throttle and steering.
