You're fascination with ABS is fascinating. Do you avoid sit ups so you can walk around with no abs? :)

My bad, brake assist it will be. It must have been the norm to have brake assist. Why the negative attitude for not using one ? Is it taboo or is it bad ? Anyway I don't easily offended, so it's cool, I've had worse on online rooms that I hosted, where people calling me names for disabling brake assist and restricting tire.

Because you are acting like it's something special when it's not.

Please elaborate acting like it's something special.

What I have said in the past regarding brake assist usage were mainly about the nature of brake assist itself, my preferences and not even once I looked down upon other brake assist user or complained about fair or not for using one in a race. I am only encouraging others to at least try not using it and give feedback; feel free to disagree, or give their opinion in the matter. All I have got now are some people who are rudely dismissive with their remarks, while only a few other seems to be kind enough to give positive feedback.

I didn't like the track at all in GT4, or any other titles it was in... like FM2 & up... but seeing and driving it in GT5, there's something about it... something enjoyable. And in GTA'12, i'd say it was quite fun!

Thanks GTPorsche for your opinion, now I am curious with the brake not being modeled properly, is it the brake balance issue that I often encounter being discussed here ? or the braking input issue on pedals that hindering most wheel users to drive without one ?

I understand how different the car is with brake assist and not, but let's say if there is no issues driving without said assist, would you prefer it ? I have been driving without one since the 1st time I play GT5, now it feels weird to have the assist, I am kind of addicted of pumping the brakes into every corner now :)

On Motegi track, braking is not the hardest part, but steering and throttle control are, I've done many laps, and I think most of the time lost are not due to braking too late or slight skidding, but simply slower entry and exit speed.

coz who is the best the guy who did 1,32,871 in 4 laps or the guy who did 1,31,266 in 765 laps loll

Never got this argument. If you only gave the fastest drivers and hour they would STILL be the fastest. The fact they can do hundreds of laps just makes the times come down, the fact they're near the top won't change though.

You are dead wrong and I despise people like you that tell others to get a life just because they play this game more than you think they should before knowing the whole story of that persons life. I play about 8 hrs. a day, sometimes more. Why? Because I have no life because I am handicapped and can't get a job or lead a normal life. This game, and my desire and determination to be the best, is what keeps me going. Handicapped, depression, this game has got me through it all. So, the next time you spout off, think first before you make your stupid ass comments.

You inspire me, KB18FAN. I mean no disrespect. I mean that.

You have misinterpreted me. I have no problem with the fact you choose to drive without ABS. My comment relates to the fact that in such a high percentage of your recent posts you feel the need to repeat over and over again that you do. Would you not agree that you mention it very regularly?

Thank you, thank you very much. I appreciate the compliment. It means alot to me.
Let me further say, I don't tell my story for sympathy, I hate it, I just hate being told to get a life or other comments along those lines by people who don't know me or my story. I just want respect and I try my best to give it back but, I have my bad days also where I may say the wrong things but it is never meant to be personal to anyone.
My goal here is simple. To be the best and will not stop till I get there. This may sound silly to most, but at this point, this game and the friends that I've made here is what keeps me going. Thanks again for the kind words. Peace.

I think there maybe a case to be made for limiting the time available to set your fastest lap. Most race events feature several practice sessions (1hr30m x2 and 1hr in F1) followed by qualifying. There is no opportunity in real life for an unlimited amount of laps. If the goal is to recreate the stresses and conditions of a professional racing driver a time limit might help with that.

I cannot get under 1.36.xxx :/ I have a DFGT + a Wheel stand pro and I am fairly new with it. I would appreciate it if someone would give me some setup tips for this wheel...like amateur/simulation/professional mode, feedback on/off (probably on) and feedback strength 1-10? I played a bit with simulation at strength 8 but I just can't get that fine tune for it...

Why do people keep bringing this up? Have you people not watched the TV show from last year? I don't think F1 practices include royal marine training and yet there they were. They couldn't care less who is the fastest or the most talented in GT5. Or on a real racetrack for that matter. They want someone who wants it real bad and meets certain criteria that they have in mind for who they want to work with. And if someone can lap motegi 12 hours a day to set the best time, well that's the definition of wanting it bad.

wow dont take this the wrong way friend but is this really your sort of game, i mean you got a wheel and cant even get into the low 34s now thats sad i must say

Yeah you're right...

No but what i mean is get a life... get a job.. it's not normal to pass that much time on a video game... and you know what i play gt5 too much myself:P ( 234 000km loll most of them in Nascar loll)

and i tried it for fun and prizes anyway in Canada we can qualify so 4 laps yesterday for me and 7 this morning are enough for me... i only did 1,33,611 and i'm 27th currently in my country
In that case, I think you should get a life and a job, because it's not normal to pass that much time on a video game.

Like I said I just got this wheel...I've been playing with a controller in GT5P and GT5, and no I can't get in the low 34s with it...yet, I hope

The reason this keeps getting mentioning is because in race meetings you are linited to your time on track. I'm not saying they have to or should implement this, it is just that it might be worth considering.

Also if some is spending 12hrs a day sitting in front of the playstation laping Motegi I think they will struggle with Royal Marine training:)

not if they were in good shape before:P two weeks is not that long

I got golds at each event.I could spend hours trying to find a second or two...but I'm going to bed my wife.

Goodnight kids..and keep the bickering down...

;)

They could do this, the fastest guys would still be the same.

And who are you to say whats normal and whats not. You are another one of those people that runs their mouth before knowing the whole story of why one might spend so much time on the game. Did you not read my previous post as to why I play so much. I know you wern't talking to me directly, but your comment is most ignorant. I wish I had a normal life and was able to get a job. Think before you speak. Not all people are as fortunate as you to have their health or a normal life.

Did you not read his post carefully? He clearly labelled the GT Academy finalists as people who don't have a life.

I think you should think before you speak.

Yes, I did in fact. You both need to think before you go spouting off at the mouth. GT finalists or not, telling someone they need to get a life because you, or anyone else, thinks they play too much is both ignorant and immature. I know where I'm coming from, you obviously don't.

I play at least ten hours a day too, I think they are just jealous, just started playing this game four months ago, and just ran a 1:33xxx on 8-5 with a controller and automatic, lol, oh yea, plus I had every driving aid on.:)

*sigh*

If you think that I meant what I said, then please, just please, re-read it again. His negative comment on the GT Academy finalists, as well as people who rank high in the leader boards warrants a response, does it not?

I responded based on his very own logic.
