NRing 10 Lap Survival Seasonal Winner! 👍

Original specs used, no changes made (except IM tyres). 👍

Was curious to know how a wheel based tune would work on DS3 on extreme conditions, so what better then these holiday seasonals. The final result was no surprise, fitted perfectly on it, only one issue affected the car:
  • Performance - Flawless. More then enough power to outcome the opposition. The low turbo suits nicely and did not showned lag situations.
  • Transmission - Loved it. Tight ratios kept the car reving nicely and despite being to other track suited perfect on the Ring.
  • Agility and Rotation - Very well balanced and agile. I know, it does not have ballast, but stock version does the job quite nicely.
  • Fuel comsuption - Very good. Not much can be said on it... :)
  • Suspension - Good, just noticed for this situation it was a bit hard, making the car bounce. But then again, not designed for this track...
  • Tyre wearness - A bit bad - Before the pitstop, they did OK, but once the track started to dry, in the case of IM, degraded very quickly, ending the race with almost 0 on 4 tyres...
Overall - For a wheel based tune it behaved wonderfully on DS3... The car was a joy to drive, very well tuned and balanced... A MCM creation for sure! 👍

What? closed? As in finished? It's not April 1st. This is a very bad joke.

I have enjoyed your tunes for years along with your incite to the tuning process. Did I enjoy all your tunes? No. But with your tuning guideline outline i was able to adjust what i needed to adjust to my driving style. You gave us knowledge, taught us well, gave us the ability to find our own tuning style. Thank you for your time and wisdom.

Hopefully someday you will return without the drama. Good luck and health to you and your family.
 
I don't know who the heck made you angry enough to remove yourself but I am very angry at whoever it was for whatever reason it was. Removing you from this game, for me, is a serious game changer. Your style, your set ups, your guides, your comments on issues, are one of the major factors this game has BECOME fun for me. You and Praiano are the main two reasons I began tuning, have learned what I have, and continue to learn everyday. I don't want to sound needy or anything, lol, but seriously, I need you and your knowledge to enjoy the game. Maybe you could email me and keep in touch about tuning issues outside of this forum somehow? And maybe send me a copy of your guide you had, lol? Really, I am not kidding, I want to stay in touch.
I knew I should have saved your newest guide to a text document, lol.
We will see how the next week or two goes, but if I find the game not as fun without the constant learning of issues and insight, you might see my presence around any forums start to dwindle down also. I hope what ever happened gets fixed, and fast, or you get in touch with me or something. I would hate to see an Iconic game turn into just another ps3 disc on my shelf, lol.

I'm a little bit confused. Where is the drama? In real life or here, in your garage?

If it is here in the garage, is it possible that I created it with my feed-back?
It is just the way I show to you (tuners), my enjoyment driving your cars, and what I can achieve with your setups applied.

I respect your work and your place so, if I did something you consider inadequate, just say it directly.
 
I can just say, that besides i read here a lot and spend much time on gtplanet and do not comment a lot, i feel sad about this developpement, i hope you are back soon.

Playing gt6 is something very personal for me, i keep track of all times i do in a database with my 25 peferred tracks and +400 perferred tunes, all of your's and praiano's and some others... It helps me to think, while being in flow...

i could write much more but it all boils down to this: L'enfer, c'est les autres (the hell are the others ?) by J.P. Sartre...

Like everyone else I believe, you create the best starting point for final tunes around. I can take any of your tunes, finesse Two or three things to fit my driving style, and I have a fantastic setup, whether it's a Focus or a Ferrari.

Would hate to see your talent go...
 
Motor City Hami I don´t know what happen to you but this feeling happens with me some 2 or 3 times since GT5. Today it´s different, i just don´t care about people wanting to put some clouds into my virtual life.
Like i say all the time, we´re just fakes tuners of fakes cars ( at least for me) and we share our hard work because we love what we do and we have a lot of fun doing this.
I didn´t spend 52 years of my life trying to be a better person to let anybody ruin my day so easily.
Please continue to publish your excelent job. A lot of silent GTPlayers enjoy a lot the game because of this.
Let´s do a new unreleased shootout, let´s have fun Hami. Come on !!!

@Motor City Hami, I have to completely agree with @praiano63. The two of you are legendary tuners on this site, and I have had countless hours of further enjoyment of GT5/6 that were a direct result of both your tunes! And what little I know about tuning, I learned much of it from reading your guides.
 
I understand this. Been lurking for a year or so and there have been times where I stopped reading the board, because of the drama. There have been times when I stopped playing GT6 for months, because of drama in two racing series and it completely turned me off for a while. But now I play a little two or three times a week again recently and just keep to myself. I pop into a few lobby rooms and then hop off to go do or play something else. I used to play religiously, but all things considered I had to take a break, too and I'll never play for hours a day again. Granted you are a well known tuner, but it is totally understandable.
 
It is beyond disappointing that a few rotten apples can have such a negative impact on an entire community.

@Motor City Hami closing up shop is a major loss to all of us, and a damn shame. Not only do I feel like I am losing a mentor, but he truly is a legend in the tuning community. The loss of knowledge and expertise that this causes is immeasurable. His combined understanding of both the GT5/GT6 tuning tools and techniques and the Real World tuning tools and techniques was invaluable to myself and many, many others here.

@Motor City Hami, You will be missed around here. All the best to you for whatever you decide to do in the future.
 
Hami, your setups are a vital part of GTPlanet, the Gran Turismo world, and all the people, young and old, who have benefited from your huge body of work. Its loss would be grievous. Please take a few days, think it over, and come on back. You have way more admirers than you know.
 
@Motor City Hami I think everyone on this forum is going to feel at a loss if you leave the community. I hope you may reconsider, but if you don't come back, I wish you the best of luck and hope that your decision made you happier. Your guides and tunes inspired me greatly and I've learned everything I know about tuning from you and your guides. Your guides, advice, and expertise are invaluable to this community and we will all feel the loss if it leaves. You will be missed, you legend.

Hami, we respect how you feel, but this thread of yours was tuning heaven for us, to which you have taken our heaven away! and so many can relate to me when I say I had not even taken notes or saved the file before you ended it, so we do not have any info anymore!
like I said though, we do truly respect your feelings and opinions, I hope this makes you have a slight change of mind.
 
Sad day to see you step out sir. I hope to see you back here again in the future. Your guides and troubleshooting guides were and still have invaluable to myself and I'm sure many others here. May the new year treat you well and may you find victory on the track in real life good sir.
 
It's not just the guides, even if the guides were still here, that's not the point at all. I don't know MC personally, however through over 2 years of post's, I know more about him then I know about any of my real-life neighbors, lol. I would label MC (to me) as a "down-to-earth University Professor" who's presence can only add positive effects.
The University of Game Physics, is in Hiatus today as one of it's professors has decided to use all of his vacation time at once, lol. Yeah, me and my imagination are pretty out-there, I know.
It isn't just the guides, it's not the tunes either. Someone makes a post questioning something, and we usually have 4 or 5 people who respond, MC being one a lot of the time. The insight on issues we are all working on is very very important. The fun comments here and there that sometimes defuse tension on frustrating issues. The amount of times I've been stuck and saw something he said in relation and said to myself, "You know, that would have taken me forever to figure out" or "I never would have thought to go that direction with this" is in the very high numbers. THAT is what is going to hurt the most If he/you remain gone. We are all part of a huge puzzle. All of us have at one time or another helped each other put some pieces together. MC, turns that 'one time or another' into 'almost daily'. OK I've said and done enough.
If you do return, know that we all hold you in high respect. If you don't think someone is being nice, or is getting out of hand, WE SEE THAT, believe me. And trust me, when people see that you dislike something/someone, with no words said, that persons reputation just took a serious dive. So let it roll off your back. People like that don't need to be called out, or anything, because no one is ever going to listen to them after they do the damage to themselves. Just click off that post, come back to your garage, and realize the other 99% of us are on YOUR side, hands down.
 
@demonchilde you are exactly correct. It is not just the guides, but in fact all of the knowledge and expertise that we are losing. Although I also don't know @Motor City Hami personally, it does feel like I am losing a long time neighbor. Or at the very least, it's like suddenly not seeing that guy at the corner store that has been there every day for years hanging out and chatting with everyone. MCH has been that community fixture here for me.

You just know that some of the character and personality of the place is gone.
 
@Motor City Hami , nothing worse than an overflow of drama, but it has cost the rest of the community a useful garage and a tuner who has done nothing but be an inspiration to me and many others. Your guidance has helped me tremendously and your FITT Shootouts having encouraged me to open my own garage and to join the FITT Comps.
I sincerely hope this does not mean that you will not be partaking in future events. :(
 
For two days long I felt like the little boy which scared the little girl just coming to play with her, but she took her toys and ran away crying and all the neighborhood hated him.

Due to the fact I haven't got any attention to my question (not for the first time), and this garage closing happened like a flash, just right after my feed-backs, finally I figured out, by myself, were the "drama" happened and I'm relieved for that it has nothing to do with me.

Myself and 2 friends started a linkshell (Group of players) and the 3 of us ran it as equal leaders. FOR 9 YEARS.
I designed a website (yes, I speak code/xhtml/html/dos/ect) and things were great. until we got over 130 members.....
Long story short, I think I left the site and game about 4 times over this exact thing.
longest was 6 months.
People slowly get on your nerves. Its not ONE person or thing/topic, its many many many little tiny things that add up over a long time. Sure it may have been one thing that was the breaking straw (camels back ect), but I'm pretty sure that it wasn't any more "the cause" then any of the others were. But when they all add up, you feel like your going to explode.
So you (or I did anyway, and now MC) pull a Matrix move, unplug the thing in your head and go take a nap.
20 more people saying the same thing isn't going to change anything. He gets it. He got it before he even left. It was time for sanitys sake to unplug, thats all. Just give him space.
 
I used one tune in GT6 for online racing other than my own, @Motor City Hami 's S2000 Seasonal Tune. Although I like to fiddle with my own cars, this car was so good, so much fun to drive, it was a go to ride whenever I was online. Hami's contributions to the Tuning Community over the years are immeasurable and like many others, I can't imagine a GTP Tuning Forum without him around. I understand the drama getting to you, and don't begrudge you at all for taking a break (hint:D), but please do come back, we will miss you. :(

I have thought long and hard about writing to you but I revere the work you do too much to see you 'slip quietly into the night' as Dylan Thomas would say. I really do know how you feel. I have been a successful Stand Up Comic here in Sydney since I was 19 - I am now 55. (You can Google Rob McHugh comedy and heckle the s*** out of me in the comfort of your own lounge room if you like). I have spent many years putting up with crap from people for a job: I once did a show at a dive called Woy Woy to an audience of 3 - and 2 of them had seen before and hated me the first time - go figure. I have walked onstage at a stripclub at midnight only to be greeted by some drunk yelling "no, no, no, bring back the REAL c***!" And sure, it's my job but having spent over a year in hospital with cancer twice I also do loads of charity work and drunk hecklers don't care if you're a good guy or not! Breathe through your nose awhile my friend and just completely ignore the people that get on your nerves and deal with the rest of us here who love your work!! I couldn't walk or talk for 4 months at one stage and I absoultely promise you that you and Praiano kept my interest in this game alive and kept me alive also. Whatever you decide on I will always be grateful to you.
