Well, at least those pics show that PD defenitly has interest in having bikes in a GT game... But you can never tell what PD is up to though, as easily as it might make it into a GT game, as easily will it be scrapped at the last moment (ahum.. GT4 online anyone?)

Raab oot.

Even as a Bike before car guy I grow tired of having this conversation. I have posted the actual comments from KY that there will not be bikes in GT5 in some thread that I don't feel like finding again at the moment. GT has always been a car game and should continue to be a car game. I don't want to race bikes against cars. TT looks great on my PS3 and until GT5 is completed you guys really need to put this bike talk to rest.

It's not going to happen. See it, understand it, comprehend it!

My position is as follows. YES include bikes in GT5 for the following reasons.

  1. Having bikes included would add more features and therefore increase the competive advantage of the game.
  2. The bikes should be seperated from the cars at least in simulation (world) mode. Meaning that bikes and cars do not race on the same track. They could even just include a seperate menu for bikes. However I would see nothing wrong with allowing players to have both bikes and cars racing at same time in say two player arcade more ( after all we are talking about a game ).
  3. As long as it was tastefully done I would be willing to pay a little extra for bikes to be included.
  4. I do not know the sales of TT, but I doubt they are even 25% of what GT4 is. So it just makes more since to me to include them as one title.
  5. The bottom line is that it would be extra features and I am sure that it would only add to the overall game enjoyment and not take anything away. If you do no want to use the bikes well don't. Unless they decided to include them in the sim structure with the cars. Meaning to complete the overall sim mode you would need to use bikes also. However I think this would be doubtful. If they do include them the sim bike mode would be seperate from the sim car mode.
  6. I would also only want the bikes included after the main features of GT5 is as good as possible. This would mean A.I., sounds, online, and simulation event structure.
  7. I would much rather have the bikes included if they have any plans at all for bikes. I say this because the bike portion by itself is not enough for me to purchase a seperate game.

What I am saying is basically offer GT5 with TT2 on the same disc. The motorcycle portion could just be complete and entirley seperate menus. However my preference at least in arcade mode would be the ability to select any vehicle, cycle etc. that is unlocked without having to switch menus. For sim mode and online modes they could have it set up so that there is no possible way to race cars vs bikes etc.

Its not so much that I don't like Bikes, but why under the name "GT" should there be bikes? As I stated before, "GT" is for cars and "TT" is for Bikes. I don't want another Midnight Club/PGR Game. And bikes have an unfair advantage in comparison to cars, result in anyone chosing a car to lose automatically so thats not a good idea. And from what I read, Tourist Trophy Did really well so with all the features that game had, why assume that it didn't do as good as GT4's sales? And exacly what "Competitive Advantage" are we talking about?

Ps3fanboy
Actaully guys,

there has already been shown pictures from Gthd with race bikes!

So? That was two years ago. Doesn't mean anything and again, it
doesn't make since to put bikes on a otherwise car branded game or to have the two race together. "GT" should stay true to cars and "TT" should stay true to bikes.

-> My first question is why?!

-> Don't we have Tourist Trophy already? That sim was a specticle and a true threat to MotoGP, but although ended up short. The game will evole as what GT did years ago, so there is no point. ;)

-> I don't want to see GT as a wannabe PGR. :indiff:

I think it's safe to say that GT will never be a wannabe PGR, or a wannabe anything.

I wouldn't be all that sad with bikes in the series, eventhough I'm not a fan of bikes. It would give the player a lot more choises.

even though I have a bike and would love to ride around gt with my cbr I believe it should stay strickly to cars

I don't think most of the people that voted yes understand that you cant compare a bike to a car.

They are two totally different ideas and that's why Polyphony created Tourist Trophy.

Putting a bike and a car on a racetrack at the same time has never happened because if the car hits the bike, that bike is done and rider might be dead.

I think this idea came from PGR and you people need to understand that PGR is a horrible excuse for a simulator. The only thing i want out of that game is rain and Macau Gp Circuit.

P.S. Macau is an important racing event held annually where the Formula 3 Macua Gp takes place, Touring car Ghia Race, and Superbike racing.

Lap after lap on a bike on the macau streets.

Sorry i had to share that.

Macau is one heck of a fun track and I would really love to see it in GT5. THe turns are so that you have to be very careful ahead and overall very careful, online racing in Macau in GT5 would be awesome. It is a lot of fun in Race' 07 just for the track's sake.

I votet yes on the bikes, not that it is im bikes in GT, and I do not want to compete bikes and cars, (other than maybe a coffiebreakmission or drivingmission) I think it would ad a new level to the appretiation of motor enthusiasme. I think it would be a fear statement that all fans of GT are motorhollics..? It's like Rally has nothing to do with Grand Turisimo eather, but it ads to the depth of the game. Same goes for the newly added Drifting and long talked about Dragracing.
Then again I wouldn't be disappointed not to find bikes in GT.

In fact if you can see Tourist Trophy is nothing but Gran Tursimo with bikes. The difference is only in those money that you spent on the game Tourist Trophy. You could absolutely add the Tourist Trophy DVD to Gran Turismo package and forget about the "Tourist Trophy" name, instead call it Gran Turismo 4: cars and bikes.
Don't you see there's no real difference unless you want cars and bikes to roll together in racing events. First that's very unrealistic because in real life there's no such thing and secondly it would be like a parody to Gran Turismo itself. PGR is an arcade game don't forget it.

-> Or maybe PD can create a special edition of a colaboration between GT and TT, with limited amount of bike and cars 'bout 10 of each side. In which will have only 5 medium-sized tracks available as a DLC only like GTHD, just for kicks. Mainly arcade-type sim. :)

-> But if were talking sim's, they should remain separated. :)

Someone in this thread stated that the game engine for a car game is very different than that of one with motorcycles. That is very true. It would take away from the experience of both if you tried.

Arcade-type Sim? I don't think that's a good idea. I guess i grew out of arcade games a while back and now it's real or nothing else.

Some more moto sickness for the thread.

Thanx for that.

But this is the only thing i got from it....

Just like how GT2 made the jump to rally racing (Even though it was poor)

TT2 if it ever happens should include Supercross, Trial, and Dakar style bikes for the full Motorcycle experience to add to the road racing.

You want bikes? Well dont plan on getting GT5. I surely doubt Polyphony will be willing to set themsevles up for failure for the convenience of a few individuals that dont understand what a "car driving simulator" is. May I refer those of you to PGR4;

Yeaaaa... Thats total bull...

Yeaaa... It would make perfect sense. Adding bikes is a totally intellegent idea... (sarcasm)

^while mixing bikes and cars in real life definitely could result in unsavory incidents like that geo there, since neither GT or TT have any damage effects, mixing them together in GT5 would have no negative effects on gameplay.

Yea well thats the point...
It would make it even more wack/rubbish. PGR4 has no defunctioning damage either... And yes it would have a negative affect on the gameplay because its a "car driving sim".

@The Poll: None of the above. I just want to see a Tourist Trophy 2, with the continued inclusion of street bikes and more content all around. I wonder if they'll include the Ninja 250R this time around... :)

Hell no! GT is about cars!
👍 Key Letters: GT No motorcycles please. Refer to my equations below:

GT + Cars = 👍

TT + Motorcycle = 👍

GT + Cars and Bikes = 👎

Simple as that. Due the math, people.

^ I mean not arcade-type like PGR, more like the arcade mode in the past GT series no simulation mode with license tests, etc. :)

No motorcycles in GT5!! :indiff:

If PD want create the "best" or a good cars simulator, they need put all they effort in this, evolutioning their physics to feels like REAL car and nothing more, this is a simulator, and not put their effort and waste their time and money adding motorcycles... :yuck:

If PD or other company try to put cars + Motorcycles in a "game", this never will be a real and good simulator. To do the best work you need put all your effort focus in one thing and direction.

I think, this is the way to create a good simulator :)

PD: If anyone want ride a motorcycle, he have availabe Tourist Trophy. This is the reason about im saying in this lines and why PD release it!

Thanks and regards for all! :)

Sorry for my english... :guilty:
