If PD want create the "best" or a good cars simulator, they need put all they effort in this, evolutioning their physics to feels like REAL car and nothing more, this is a simulator, and not put their effort and waste their time and money adding motorcycles... :yuck:

If PD or other company try to put cars + Motorcycles in a "game", this never will be a real and good simulator. To do the best work you need put all your effort focus in one thing and direction.

I think, this is the way to create a good simulator :)

You're 100% right.

i was thinking about that not too long ago... maybe not a main thing... perhaps a sort of mini game that you can participate in to get a little extra cash...

I'm new to the topic, so here's my quick opinion on the whole 'bikes in GT' issue. On one hand, it would be great so I don't have to buy two games or miss out on tracks (I think TT had a track GT4 didn't?). On the other, having bikes defeats the purpose of the game's name. "Gran Turismo" is a car term, just like "Tourist Trophy" is for bikes (but then again... that didn't stop Audi from calling a car "TT"...). Plus, with F1 cars being able to race road cars, what's going to stop bikes from entering car races? Now that I don't want. Whether or not PD is focusing on bikes or cars isn't a problem - you guys aren't thinking. THEY'RE MAKING BOTH GAMES ANYWAY!!!

BTW, I voted 'yes' on the poll, but that's only if PD would make it so bikes can't enter races with cars.

For every single bike they make they could have made some sort of awesome and different touring, street, or race car.

Ill put my money on more cars. We all know we can NEVER have too many cars, and thats all I want them to focus on.

Ill never cease to be amazed by the number of closed minded fuddy duddies in this forum..

its called GT... so what, its a brand name, not a rule book... brands change, brands expand..

Id be interested to see the quote where KY says no bikes in cars in the same game, because they only one i can find has him saying hes perfectly open to the idea, they have it running internally and the only reason they havnt done it at this point was the limitations of the PS2..

personally, i think its really sad that PD moved away from the original DLC centric model for GT5...
Monolithic development really doesn't seem to suit the style of game GT is..
having GT as a platform and dropping bits and bobs onto as they are finished just seems to make more sense...

in fact id be happy if GT5P was the last disc I bought from them and the rest just gets added bit by bot over the top...
big games on discs is so last gen...

Not everyone is close minded, many people on here just don't want bikes in the same game as cars much less in a game that never had bikes before. I personally hate them, and wouldn't want to play with them. Now if they offered bikes as DLC, then I'd be fine since I wouldn't HAVE to have them.

It's time I finally speak up. Would I want motorcycles in GT5? Yes and no.

YES: Everything would look so wonderful on that wicked PS3. It would add to the diversity of races you can run. You wouldn't need to plunk down extra money just to get a motorcycle-focused sequel. You can even have your own Daytona 200 (the motorcycle race around the Daytona road course). The possibility of car vs. bike is also fun.

NO: I'd hate if Polyphony Digital killed off Tourist Trophy much like bad reviews from gaming media disliked Enthusia. Here's a big reason why I think you'll agree with me that GT5 shouldn't feature motorcycles... a lot of the tracks in Gran Turismo games are catered to cars than motorcycles. Ever ran tracks like Seattle Circuit in Tourist Trophy? Flying up into the air to take on another series of elevation changes can result in you flying off of your bike and getting owned. Why do you think the 24 Hours of Le Mans Moto is held around the Bugatti Circuit and not the beloved Circuit de la Sarthe? It's because the bikes can't really sustain those kinds of speeds. Then too, the track is bumpy on those super-long straights. Bikes can't handle this kind of thing. If anything, I think Tourist Trophy should have a sequel to allow for more motorcycles as well as different styles of motorcycle racing.

So which side am I more likely to side with? I'm going to say no because I don't hate Tourist Trophy even if only four bikes are on a track. People are going to say that Tourist Trophy 2 would be like TT1, only with four more bikes to a track. People tend to forget that this was based on the GT4 engine. To do what PD did with TT even with these limitations is pretty damn impressive. They could have just made it all one-on-one races. People just want to think that Tourist Trophy was PD's biggest disappointment. No... GT2 was their biggest (to each their own) disappointment. I'm going to say "hell no," but unlike a lot of people, I actually like motorcycles and don't mind them. Gran Turismo is about cars; I'm just not going to go on the level of saying that motorcycles have no place in GT. Project Gotham Racing 4 has cars and bikes (first-time ever for motorcycles). My answer would be "yes and no," but more along no.

.................Well said....im an avid racing enthusiast on 2 and 4 wheels and you are very right. There are race tracks built for cars and bikes.....even though sometimes both can run it....places like Valencia were made for two wheeled battles.

................With the addition of the PS3, im hoping physics improve. There is a the system running what the bike and the rider are doing......it's like controlling 2 bikes at once in one setting.

.................Cars and bikes should never race each other......There is a reason it's never been done before and it's pretty obvious, if you don't understand, you've prolly never ridden a bike.

GT is a car game....Street, Rally, Le Mans, F1, Touring, and GT. But they are all CARS!

I do think adding the FIA truck championship is a good idea though.

If its so simple BloodyJesus, why bother posting? a patronizing wink isn't an argument..

...

"Why do you think the 24 Hours of Le Mans Moto is held around the Bugatti Circuit and not the beloved Circuit de la Sarthe? It's because the bikes can't really sustain those kinds of speeds. "

what? rubbish...
they dont run it on the full circuit because A: the full circuit requires shutting down miles and miles of public roads for the week (the bike race isnt run at the same time as the car race, nor is it as big a deal) and B: because you cant run a modern professional motorcycle race on a circuit with almost no run-off..
Its run on the bugatti circuit because its a permanent circuit with modern run of areas, not public highway armco deathtrap..
but as anyone who as ridden a bike knows, they are perfectly capable of blasting up and down bumpy public roads at insane speeds...

...

by keeping them separate you only lose opportunity.. each game is less than the combination..

how cool would it be hotlapping around the nurburgring online... cars and bikes, all mixing it up... It would actually be a more realistic scenario than 90% of the events currently in GT...
which are utter nonsense and dont simulate any real event in motorsports..

if you don't understand, you've prolly never ridden a bike.

Haven't you said this already?? ... someone has... but anyway, you don't need to have ridden a bike to know the drivers aren't strapped down and are less protected than in a car...

It would be ok for me but only as a novelty item or something when you've completed all challenges. Or maybe it shouldn't be in the career mode, but as a ''secret'' price for completing all arcade mode challenges you can ride in time trials in arcade mode only.

On the other hand, I wouldn't cry myself to sleep if there's no bike in the game though.

quoting a contentless post from the previous page is a contribution...?
clearly the standards of discussion here are lower than ive come to expect from other forums....

.. but lets not bicker...

how about we talk about the screens you posted earlier..
specifically the one of the caparo and the MV...
how is this not an interesting scenario?
sure, those 2 monsters on the snow is asking for a mess, but apart from that its interesting... id like to see how things would fare..
which is faster off the line? what sorts of tracks favor one or the other? its a game, these sorts of comparisons are fun.. nobody is going to get hurt..

as long GT and TT are separate we cant find out.. both games are LESS cool and interesting as a result... why do we want either to be LESS cool and interesting?

I believe them being "less cool and interesting" is an opinion.
But this topic has already came up a few times and there is only so much left to say about it but "NO".
Im seriously pretty sure its not going to happen though.

Tourist Trophy 2

Thats a strange comment considering we've been called elite snoobs more then not when it comes to the members of this site.

We call it debating around here.

I guess the main point is that there are already other games for that kind of monkey play. GT does attempt to imitate real life and most of us would like it to stay that way. I find that If PD would spend time on bikes for GT5 it would take away from other things that could improve the car driving experience.

The same goes for TT, I don't want an F1 flying into the back of me while I am racing.

oh I didn't realize you worked for PD Soprano..... my bad...
whats that? you dont? your just a dude like rest of us speculating on the internet? ..

ohhh, but you have the power to end a thread by decreeing that the answer is NO...
right ... ok..
... for some reason that avatar picture really suits you.. its a good choice.. i like it..
