Yes but they are also Championships . I said Championships because stuff like the NAEC and the Pirtek Enduro Cup isn't really a Series as it is a Championship in another Championship.

He started out in Grand National (today's Sprint Cup) in 1964 and ended his
career in the ARCA series only two years ago.

He raced in National, Cup, Busch, Trucks & Arca from 1964-2013,
starting his racing at 29 (he was a mechanic before) and retiring as a driver at 79 years of age.

He raced in the Nascar series in the sixties, seventies, eighties, nineties, 00's & 10's,
altogether for 807 races (I included Daytona 500 qualifying races and All-Star races in that total).


Now, I don't know if James should have the record or not but he certainly has the drivers you mentioned
above beat.

Going through Hylton's career stats I noticed he didn't race in 1965, 1984, 1996 or 2000
during his 49-year career. So that makes it 45 active years in a 49-year career.
