This was the race where Lella Lombardi scored half points, I know that much. Only woman to net points in an F1 race.

As for three laps, was it Graham Hill?

Cool! I never win anything :D

So I set a question, right?

The Spanish GP of 1975 was a historic event in F1 for a number of reasons, not least the tragic death of 5 spectators.

Who drove three laps before going home, and why? Who scored the most historic points in the race... and why?
Lella Lombardi scored the only points for a woman in F1. Emerson Fittipaldi withdrew because he though/knew that the track wasn't safe enough.

Well, I was a champion for less time than I thought.

For the bonus points... which team boss did a circuit inspection with his own spanner before the race? :D (You win anyway, the microwave oven is safe and we're going for the speedboat).

Ken Tyrrell

I think you'll find I nipped in with Lombardi, at least, first. ;)

Ken Tyrrell went out with the spanner.

Damn, so you did - sorry for missing it!

You and @Jimlaad43 share the microwave and the speedboat, happy days :)

@Jimlaad43 wins on overall balance though, and I wish I'd been there to see grumpy Ken checking the barriers... :D

Which British Race Circuit is this?

I used an obsolete European GP car win the Indy 500, and I did it more than once. Who am I, and what was my car?

Obsolete European GP car isn't a Lotus, is it? Otherwise I don't think a 1930s Merc, Auto or Alfa won Indy. Unless you're going very far back in history and talking about that French guy who won in the 1910s.

You've gone back far enough, but my car wasn't any of those you mentioned. I will qualify my use of the term "obsolete" and add that my car was current but uncompetitive in Europe, but stomped the competition at Indianapolis. If it weren't for a broken wheel late in the race, I would have won three times in a row with this same car.

I'm sure this happened to either Stewart or Clark. Stewart drove a Lola, and Clark drove a Lotus. 1966 and 1965 respectively, I think.

You're thinking of 1966, the race that started with an 11 car wreck before turn 1. Clark, Andretti and Lloyd Ruby all lead, but Graham Hill was the surprised winner. Stewart was leading with 10 laps to go, but lost oil pressure and immediately shut off to save John Mecom's $26,000 Ford engine.

You are still ways off answering the current question. But I enjoyed the bunny trail.

Wilbur Shaw in a Maserati 8CTF in 1939 and 1940

We have a winner!

The '38/'39 Maserati 8CTF had a reliable 3.0 liter straight-8 with two superchargers, giving around 360 hp. It could go 290 kph all day long.

The same car was campaigned by a series of drivers after Shaw, taking high placings and competing until 1950.

Nope, Rahal has a Lebanese descent. I probably should have said "A driver who has no connection with the country they drove for"

But does Rahal have an American racing licence? If he does that surely meets the criterion.

Adam Carroll? I thunk he's from Northern Ireland but know he drove for Team Ireland and not GB.
