Doesn't he share with @Clark for Adam Carroll? He raced for Ireland but is from Northern Ireland.
Anyone from Northern Ireland is automatically eligible for a Republic of Ireland passport so there is a link to the country.
I was just looking that up as you wrote.
I found this out conclusively with a republican friend of mine from Northern Ireland. If you're from Northern Ireland you can get a Republic of Ireland passport if you want but people from the Republic of Ireland are not automatically eligible for British passports, except for certain grandfather clauses which are slowly expiring.
It's the same reason why people from Northern Ireland can transfer FIFA nationality to the Republic of Ireland but not the other way around.
I think I remember there being some controversy over Eddie Irvine's nationality. IIRC he comes from an Irish nationalist background, but he had to race under a UK flag as that's where he got his racing licence. I wonder, if he was 10 years younger, would there have been some clause under the Good Friday Agreement (signed after Irvine's F1 debut) that would have allowed him to race under the Irish tricolour?
That controversy happened at the 1997 Argentine GP. The stewards held up the tricolour flag instead of the union jack.
Dan Welch?
it was Tim Harvey in 1996, wasn't it?The absolute record for consecutive DNFs in the British Touring Car Championship is six; Jim Edwards Jr. failed to finish both races at Croft, both races at Snetterton and both races at Brands Hatch late in the 2003 season. However this was in the 'Production' class of Group N cars used to beef up the thin field. My question for you is;
The record for consecutive DNFs in the actual British Touring Car Championship is five. Who holds it?
That is, consecutive DNFs without missing an event and without any DNSes. This record is verifiable from 1981 onwards and it occurred after 1990.
it was Tim Harvey in 1996, wasn't it?
woo, my turn now ain't it?How rather accurate of you. It was.
Okay then...Yes.
Yes it was Anthony Reid, with 2, 1998 and 2000.Anthony Reid finished 2nd in 1998 (Nissan), 2000 (Ford) and 200..6 (BMW), I think. Finished second three times without winning it.
Anthony Reid finished 4th twice during the 2000's, 2002 and 2004Hm, I was sure he finished second in the mid 2000s as well. Okay, let's branch out again and keep it going;
Name all of Michael Schumacher's teammates in his title winning years.
