I think Misano's layout was changed a few years ago and now the track is raced in the opposite direction to what it used to be (clockwise now)
No I'm sure it's still anti-clockwise, European Le Mans Series raced there this year, and Tamburello was the first corner...

That's Imola.

I was wrong about Misano. Forgot it changed direction a few years ago. Edit: Even worse is that I looked at a current track map of it and still somehow thought it was counter-clockwise :ouch:

still getting Imola and Misano mixed up are we Mikey? :banghead:

I'm aware of trackdays been done on the reverse layout, but the only races I'm aware of being done in reverse are bike races, but perhaps @Holdenhsvgtsr knows more.

Some car-based club championships too I think. There are events like the Scottish Fiesta XR2 championship which use it both ways, to add a little variety to pretty much the only circuit they use in their season.

Looking at the Porsche video above, the reverse layout seems to only leave one real overtaking point - into the first corner/hairpin.

it's just occurred to me that your location says "North Korea" yet there's a South Korean flag? :odd:

Assuming we're talking about the overall victory of the event, I'm pretty sure it would be Bugalski at the '99 Tour De Corse. I can't think of anything more recent that fits the bill.

*realises I need to start answering more than just rally questions to get in the zone*

I was sure it was the Sierra RS Cosworth that got the last 2WD win. If not 1990 then perhaps 1989.

Unless the Citroen Xsara was initially 2WD so it could be 1999, 2000 or 2001.

Oh, treed. And now that I'm allowed to look it up, the Sierra won one WRC event and that was the Corsican Rally in 1988.

A Renault 5 GT Turbo won the 1989 Ivory Coast WRC round. (Also the only overall win for a Group N car)

Alex had his first and only race win in the EVO in a reverse race :)

Only KMSC, SMRC can't get insurance to run reverse.

When was the last time WRC event has been won using 2 wheel drive car?

I always think it was Jesus Puras in 2001, but then remember he got the first win for Citroen in the Xsara WRC (and quickly dropped out of the limelight after that thanks to a certain French gymnast )

I'm gonna give up again, I can't think of anything remotely good

OK then, here's my question:

Who was the last driver to win a Grand Prix with a supercharged car?

I always thought that the Citroen WRC car was the last 2wd to win before they switched to the awd.
It was a Citroen that was the last 2WD to win but it was the F2 Kit car, every WRC spec car made since 1997(?) has been 4WD.

JM Fangio did win the Spanish GP of 1951 with a supercharged Alfa Romeo.

However, if you count non-championship GP's, Ken Wharton in a V-16 BRM won in 1953.

Edit: Ron Flockhart won with the supercharged BRM P15 May 6, 1954, WHDCC Trophy at Ibsley.

Edit 2: Stan Jones, father of Alan Jones, won the New Zealand GP of 1954 driving a supercharged Maybach special.
