Multi-monitor support in GT6?

I've never had an issue with DLC cars or tracks with triple-monitors, everything is simple and works fine.

As for the custom circuits only working on the center monitor, this is because the clients don't have the information for the custom tracks on a disc to pull from. If you go to one of the baked-in circuits that come on the disc then each machine pulls the track info from it's disc and communicates with the other two machines to sync them up. On a custom circuit only one machine has the info so the client machines don't know what to do. Yeah, you can share the track with the client machines but I think the code is different enough that the little PS3 can't make it work out. I doubt this feature will ever be available on multi-monitors.

EDIT: I believe the server machine automatically provides an IP address and you just type that address into the clients, it's really simple. 👍

Here's what mine looks like from interior view.

I REALLY hope it is put in again. Even though I don't have tripe screens to use, on GT5 I always accessed the secret menus to change the angles and width of the view for a single screen. It makes the game appear a lot faster and it's cool to be sat back in the drivers seat and being able to see out of the side window in inside view, rather than being sat there with your chin virtually resting on the steering wheel, as in the default views :)

Is it just me, or is multi-monitor missing now in GT6??? Can't find anyone else complaining though so wondering if I'm missing something?

Well that little shopping list I put together can go on hold. Shame :( I can understand why it came through as a patch last time but this is not a new video engine.

Yeah, I can't wait for this to comeback, then I'll be retiring my top gear leaderboard and starting fresh, not sure what track to use yet, though, since we lost TG.

Every time I have a party or guests come over, we do a best of 5 laps in a stock focus ST and their time goes on the board. Fun for all ages, but multi-monitor is key!

Question: I have the Anniversary Edition of GT6.

Based on your actual experiences with GT5's multi-screen, do you think I will need Anniversary codes for the extra two PS3s if and when GT6 supports multi-screen?

Edit: I mean, will I need extra codes if I want to drive the Anniversary cars?

No, the extra PS3s are just clients to the server

Thanks for the quick response! It's becoming hard to find Anniversary Editions now, and I was concerned I might miss out. I'm used to the Forza environment, where you may have to pay for three copies of the optional car pack extensions.

I just went looking for this today... nope. 🤬

I don't have triple screens yet but I loved tweaking the view angle, width etc in GT5. I haven't played GT6 in a while and thought this could be something fun to play with to get me interested again, maybe make certain cars' camera angles more driveable. Nice tall glass of nope.

It seems to work perfectly: tested for carreer, on-line and replays.

Speed feeling is greatly improved as always when you move from from single monitor to triple.

Additional tests with 10+ players online need to be done to confirm if it impacts stability or not (as itwas the case with GT5)

Great to hear, can't wait to get home from work and get everything set back up. 👍 Does everything seem to be as it was in GT5 as far as settings and activation?

I never had any stability issues with multi-monitor in GT5, regardless of how many people were in the room. The client monitors (technically) aren't connected to the internet or PSN so the number of people in the room should have no effect on them.

Setting and activation are very similar to GT5.
I stopped playing GT5 a long time ago but I think that the only difference is that borders or angles are not measured exactly the same way (percentage, instead of angles, etc). The number of fields and their meaning is the same but I do not think that GT5 settings can be copied directly.

Good deal. I made sure to record my settings from GT5 hoping it would at least give me a good starting point. Regardless......

I have to buy at least two more PS3s. Should I get fat or slim?

I think slim would be preferred but I'd say whichever you can get the best price on. And if you download the PSN digital version of the game (which can be purchased once and installed on two machines) you don't have to worry about the condition of the disc reader. 👍

Thanks! I bought two more GT6 disks before I found out about the ability to use one digital download on two machines. The good news is that both were Anniversary Editions so I gave one code to a mate and now I have the AE cars too.

If anyone has time could you post the settings you're using for multi-monitors? That might help some of us get dialed in quicker (I remember spending a lot of time fiddling with the settings in GT5 before it looked right). 👍

Currently downloading GT6 onto my other two PS3's and have ordered three new brackets this morning. So I'll need to rig up something on top of the cockpit to use it until the brackets arrived in the mail. Might have some pictures in a few hours.
But best update to date for me lol
