Everyone has there own ideas feelings and opinions towards things like cars.. i just read an argument about this.. about how one of you guys thought that muscle cars sound bad and are terrible off the line.

THATS YOUR OPINION!!!!

I love muscle cars and classic cars and yes some imports as well.. like the prelude and supra.. but you can't forget that porsche or ferrari... they are all nice cars.

The thing with me is i can't afford a newer car.. so i get what i can to fix up and run the bat out of hell with.. also i peronally love the sound of a 427 with a big bad exshaust... thats what i grew up on and thats what I love.. I also love to looks of a say GTO or 57 Bel-air the size the comfort and the CHROME can't forget that wonderful shiny stuff :lol: :) but see thats my opinion.. you guys shouldn't fight over these things.. you should agree and say well i'm more into this and go with the fact that the guy loves his car

Hey i have a $750 84 monte carlo.. and i worked my ass off for it.. i am very proud to own it cuz i got an awsome deal.. now if somebody came to me dissing it saying it isn't worth the metal its made out of i'd be very upset.

So i'm basically looking for people that agree with me... i think this is a big deal and the only thing that sux is people that diss other peoples taste in what they love.
 
and this is the car.. runs great just needs a new paint job and its an old pic so i allready have cool lookin rims and big tires on the back... might even put a t-roof on it cuz i'm turning it into an SS Clone

Got to agree on this point.

Anyone who dislikes a car based solely on where it comes from is racist. Anyone that then attempts to defend their position is also stupid. Anyone that further attempts to belittle others by insulting what they like in preference to their own, stupid racist tastes is clearly also a tosser.

I like the cars I like because I like them - and similarly I dislike the ones I dislike because I dislike them. I like some Ferraris, some Porsches, some BMWs, some Chevrolets, some Hondas, some Fords, some Mazdas, some Alfa Romeos (and all TVRs and Lotuses) - but there are examples of each that I dislike too.

I have no idea what your car is - so I have no opinion on it. Although by instinct I'd say a car that cost $750 (about £500) isn't much to get excited about - my 1.3i Fiesta would sell for twice that and it's a hateful piece of excrement.

Edit: You posted a picture. Doesn't do anything for me, I'm afraid. But to each their own.
 
i got an 86 toyota 1/2 ton pickup! nothing too special but it runs over cones good. i know it sucks to diss ones' taste but sometimes you just can't hold back from telling the truth.
 
lol yeah well i'm 18 right now that all i could afford cuz i live on my own rent is expensive and well its a nice little car.. i no its no bel-air but hey its my car and i paid for it.

Plus it'll look sweet once i get all the monte ss body parts for it.

Any American car manufactured in 1984 is junk. Sorry if that upsets you. And that car is not a muscle car. If you're looking for compliments on your car, you need a better one. If it was mine I would not be posting pictures of it on the internet. I'd be saving for a better car. You need a less expensive hobby.

lol... i know its not a muscle car.. muscle died in 1974 and dodge is calling the viper and stuff the new muscle car.. um no.. and it doesn't upset me much cuz thats not what it looks like anymore.. sheesh.. my car has a 400 sb and it pumps 500hp which is pretty dam good for just putting headers and lil toys like that on it.. and once shes got her new nose and cowl hood shes up for sale.. i just got off the phone a few minutes ago with a dealer in the city near me and he wants to give me $6000 allready for it.

I think thats pretty good for a $750 car.. i may be young but i grew up on muscle cars and i know what i'm doing.
 
If I had unlimited funds to spend on a car I'd get a '69 Mach 1, stock and mint. Of course I'd probably want a sports car, too, but the Mach 1 would turn as many heads as a Ferarri. And for street driving, a muscle car would be so sweet. I'd need a bank account just for tires.
 
sorry guess that didn't work.. well these cars deserve to be posted i only have a couple of em so i shrunk them.. the top one is a 69 buick skylark that my dad is slowly building up with the money he has.. and the bottom is a 77 trans-am like the Smokey and the Bandit car... it used to have the bird and all the proper line badgeing and stuff but we used to live in a bad part of town and my dads car was a big target so he has rebuilt it to the way he wanted it... and its in amazing shap not a spec of rust or anything.. hes had the car since 1978

I love the trans-am. I grew up with seeing smokey and the bandit and it was one of my fav films when I was young. God bless it. A bloke near me used to have one and you could hear it comming from a mile away. I think he changed quite a few things on it though like tweaked the engine or something like that (don't ask me what, because it was a long time ago).
If this sound like bosting then I'm sorry because I'm not meaning to but if you can count it as one then the AC Cobra is my favourtie muscle car. Mainly because my dad has one (a replica, but still very nice), but they're one of the greatest things to come out of America IMO (well in some close competition with some of the nice lady's that come out of their as well ;) ).
Blue Phoenix if you're into muscle cars as much as you sound you are you should join my club (he's a plug for it) - V8 fan club, you'd fit in perfectly there.:D
Nice first car btw, I'd love to get something like that when i get my first car (6 month's ish now). Like Famine I'll probably get a Fiesta 1.1 though.

Yeah, I totally agree with you. I get critisism about my car all the time.

"Its just a Turbo'd Neon"
"A WRX would eat it alive" (Surprisingly they are closely matched)

I respect people's opinions, but when they start making crap up, bending facts to make a car look bad, etc, that's not an opinion, that's either:

1. Fear. They are scared that something new (or old) can beat the cars they like.

2. Bandwagon. They see other people saying it and say it too.

3. Hate. They just hate the car because of where its from, what it is, or whatever.


I hate that kind of person. I like all cars (and Trucks), no matter where they came from (Except for the Gremlin). I like or dislike a car for real reasons.
 
Frustrated, I don't know if you've come across this problem before, but did you notice how everything on the market became a bad car since the Evo VIII Debuted? I mean, every magazine is rating it #1, all kids are "posing" owning one, or saying they're going to get one. You noticed this?
 
Thats something else that bothers me.. kids now adays(yes i know i'm only 18) but kids these days only go for the cars that somebody famous would drive.. they don't like the cars for any reason they like them to be popular and yes these kinda people are posers.. i see it all the time on the main drag. I'm more of an open spirit then my friends acctually i'm told that i should have been living through the 50's and 60's... i meet people every day and they are like hey man your car is "dope" all i can do is shake my head and walk away... i had alot of friends that listen to rap music... but they got way to much into the slang and stuff that you couldn't understand them. This kinda sounds like i'm being very critical but do you guys know what i'm talking about?

Well anyhow.. these friends would allways diss my favorite cars and they'd allways be goin for the more expensive ones.. so i would have to ask them oh what kinda engine is in there.. they just look at me... once again i would just shake my head and walk away:lol: :rolleyes:
 
ya i hate all these dumbass kids with thier ****yass four banger rice burners trying to burn out and race each other in the school parking lot. ya im only 18 too but id like to get a nice '69 chevelle out there and kick some ass. im lookin for a straight one all original to restore but even the ones that are in horrible shape are goin for a lot.

not all us kids drive rice burners i hate those things im only 16 and still trying to license but when i do im hoping i can save enough money for a 1998 mustang gt same kind my dad has gatta love that year for the gt nice and curvy just like a pretty woman im not to fond of chevys or pontiacs but they make nice cars my favorite all time car is the ac cobra 427 and my favorite mustang is the carrol shelbys gt 500 fastback of course:)

Yeah, but I dont know why there is so much hype on it. It's a great car, dont get me wrong, but there were things I didnt like. That 2 second lag until full power would take some getting use to, and that clutch smell :yuck:...

hey, WHO cares if its no muscle car???? it is even more original if you are doing these cars up. I dont care if it aint muscle car, as long as it is well tought out and makes use of every resource its owner has to make it a better performing car. a monte carlo??? COOL!! perfect platform, hundreds of punds lighter than any muslce car, rear wheel drive, 10 1/2 rear end, pretty strong, huge engine bay, so it can swallow any engine you drop at it... what is SO bad about a monte carlo??? Id rather have one of those than a clunky but muscley looking chevelle. the monte has more potential for an all-out performer. you are looking for a looker? get the velle. looks? I dont think it looks half bad. 'sides, sleepery looks make for some killer stuff... "how about that "ugly (:rolleyes: )" monte parked at the side of the SS chevelle?" -"uh? what ugly monte?" yeah, exactly the point. you wouldnt even notice it sitting to the stockish muscle car. then you go there and splat them in the pavement with the said 406. "oh, but my chevelle is nicer". please.
80s cars are BLOOMING with potential, they were made by millions, and are READILY available (come on, mention a car of the style that will cost you like, 1500...). yes, they were maybe badly done in the day, but, hell, if you have one of these, you aint letting it alone. and for that, you have my entire respect. even more so if you just restored a matching numbers mustang. bleh. as far as im concerned, stock cars are a sheet of white paper. the thing is how cool this sheet may be. some people realize it, some people dont. and some people MAKE THEM BE COOL. blue phoenix does, and for that he has my entire respect.

i know the feeling. kids at my school would drool evry time they see a lincoln navigator or an escalade with HUGE 22" rims. some say "oh man that thing has 4 dvd players!" you cant watch four dvds at the same time anyways stupid peices of ****. and yes like you said, they have no clue as to whats under the hood. im not saying everyones like that, but thats what i see alot.

hondas are just a FAD. people will get over it with time. the fast and the furious poured more gas on the flames of the fad. this is all just my opinion, but those lights under the care have got to be the stupidest thing ever created. omFg! and that **** is not cheap either. why pay money on stupid **** like that for no reason? oh wait "it looks good" gimme a *****n break, it;s because you cant get laid.

Hondas are good cars. Modified-to-hell Hondas are probably good cars, but generally driven by bad drivers...
 
hondas arent bad cars and when they are tuned right (with right, you know, I mean no rice... no neons no stuff oike that. NO BODY KIT of ANY kind. just a stance drop, some black rims, and a turbo the size of my head), you just cant say they suck. I said that before, but I soon got into imports and came to realize they are cool if done right, as ANY CAR. or, what? you think its cool a muscle car with a stupid split-splat paint job with chromaboogle paint and 22 inch huge billet wheels, lame-ass body changes and up on a trailer going to a show? please. ANY car can be "riced". I think this "rice" term should be used for anything that has bad taste in it, not just for hondas. hondas are good when done right, just as EVERY OTHER CAR.

I cant see any bad things in a honda that can beat the hell out of any muscle car you throw at it, and looks good doing it.
 
haha, you guys (not all of you) get so pissed when people make fun of your "muscle cars" then you turn around and talk **** about Japanese cars? Just a little bit hypocritical don't you think?
 
all i ever see lately is "Muscle cars suck" type threads

some people have obsession that they have to belittle muscle cars:confused:
 
I don't know.. all i'm saying is that i know that muscle cars stock are great for torque and alot of it... great power and high speeds... general imports well not too much into them cuz i was raised on muscle and classic car i know that they have some great handling packages even when they are stock... but like i said i grew up on muscle and classics... and personally I like hearing a v8 with not an extremely loud exhaust but just so you can hear that pur kinda rumble... but hey thats me.. not you:)
