My biggest worry about GT6.

This has been bothering me and fluctuating my decision on getting GT6 or not. Recently, players have hacked GT5 and made their cars ridiculously powerful, only to get shot down by Polyphony Digital. If GT5 could be hacked with ease, It could be a matter of weeks or months before GT6 could be hacked if GT6's coding is similar to GT5, unless Polyphony Digital puts restrictions from the start. Even if GT6 is hacked and hackers are banned from online play, they will still have a huge advantage in A-Spec and B-Spec with their hacked cars.

What is your opinion on this?

The last patch to do with this means the game reads from the gamedata rather than the gamesave, or something like that. Anyway, I think the rationale was that the gamedata on a console cannot be copied, so no manipulation will be possible.

I could well be wrong about that though.

I don't care.

Play and let play.

If a person wants to hack the game, let them.

The only situation where action should be taken, is when they are cheating the leader-boards, or taking money out of PD's pocket.

Otherwise, go ahead and play how you want.

If a hacker hacks a game, and there's nobody around to see or hear it - did the hacker really hack the game?

Ain't that one philosophical question?

GT3 was hacked long after it was released just as GT5 was. GT4 was on the same console as GT3 and it took even longer iirc for people to figure out how to hack it.

I don't see GT6 being hacked in weeks or months, more like years.

If they want to ruin their single player experience, who cares ... as long as they stay offline. How would them having a advantage in A-Spec matter?
With the crazy pre order bonuses of instantly getting a Lamborghini and some race cars right at the start for a lot of players already will have a large advantage.

Why one simply cares if one hacks singleplayer game ? I mean how does it bother you ? you will never even know he is ahead of you in A/B-Spec.

However, if it affects leaderboards and multiplayer experience, than I hope PD will take care of it.

Some people need an ego boost, they are under the impression people actually care and praise them for completing a video game. Their glory is undermined by all the naughty cheaters, most of which simply want to get on with unlocking all the content so they can race online, or just have all options at their disposal.

Of course the ones that use cheat cars on leader boards and in lobbies need a similarly harsh judgement imo.

My biggest worry would be that they once again leave out leaderboards like they did with GT5. I'm not concerned with hackers though I would like to see them properly removed and/or restricted from leaderboards. If someone comes into my lobby with a hacked car then it is simple enough to boot them out though I find that often people who come in with super fast cars can't drive well enough to win even with the cheat ;)

I don´t care what others do if they don´t touch my game.

As simple as that.

If they ruin the online experience they will be banned so nothing to worry about once they find the problems.

If they beat the game faster because they use "cheats"...it is their problem as well.

As I said...I don´t care what others do if they won´t affect me.

I don't really care either, – as long as I don't have to race against the hackers, at least.

I'm almost certain that PD will take serious measures to individuals hacking their games. GT5 is getting old now, it's too late to ban because....who cares, the game's nearly 3 years old and has already had it's reasonable amount of enjoyment.

I could care less either way, unless, as others have mentioned - it affects online leader boards or anything of that nature. I'm still really confident that if the game is hacked earlier on in the games life, they will bring out the ban hammer.

All in all, I'd be too busy (I REALLY hope) in the A-Spec or career mode, to care about what's going on online.

why should it bother you what someone does with GT6 offline  I have Game Genie 👍 and i can wait to mod GT6 but not to go online with it just for my personal use. 👍:sly:

It bothers someone that is still saving up for that Corvette while someone else is cruising around in their hacked Lambo.

It's kind of a jealousy (maybe the wrong word here though) thing in my opinion. The guy that's working hard to get what he wants compared to a guy that changes a few bits to get what he wants.

I could care less.

yea but if that person doesn't go online 👍 with there Hack game i just don't see why it should bother him then :nervous:

If you encounter someone online with an expensive car that takes both credits and experience points to gain early in the games life, one of a few things have happened; he played non stop and had the patience to grind, he found a work around or cheat of some kind, maybe some sort of gifting/leaching going on.

It makes no difference how he got the car as long as it's a legal car for the lobby or tt.

As I've said many times, just give us an unlock all button 👍

I'll never understand this "working hard" thing in video games. If playing a game feels like hard work to progress and you get annoyed someone else had less "work" then something is wrong.

I was in a open lobby yesterday and someone turned up with a hacked R8!! Thought this had all been stopped? Or patched?

Your statement as blunt as it is, is true.

Have you ever played with a hacked player before because I haven't. It's never effected my game. Not sure about you but, I consider myself an average player that spend the average amount of time playing and I had my hands full beating the game and getting all the cars. I guess I've never to much worried about others progress. As far as lobbies go if you don't like the one your in start your own.

Let's say people join the lobby I create and use hacked cars. What would I do then? I could kick them, but they will always have hacked cars and will most likely continue to use them elsewhere.

In that case don't worry about it. If they are not in the same lobby with you how is it a problem for you?

I would not hack a game for online play but I have hacked many games in the past and some of the most fun I have had racing was using hacked cars with friends on the local network. The idea was that we all had the freedom to do whatever we wanted to any car and then we would race them, often they were so fast that the winner was the one who wrecked the fewest times, then we set up a few and we would drive the same hacked version of the car so it was all fair and fun.

Bringing a hacked car into a normal lobby is just lame and people should not be surprised if they get kicked or banned for it but that is up to them and is ultimately their problem, just don;t race with them if you don't want to.

I agree, some of the most fun ive had on Forza 4 has been split-screen racing with my buddies in our BIG TURBO or LSX swapped cars. Most cars are just recreations of real cars so its nothing insane, but makes the game more fun.

That is quite a lot different than what I was talking about. Split screen is not something I would even want to try since they have been able to do online play.

But to give an example, I created a program to edit performance files in Porsche Unleashed which allowed you to edit pretty much every thing about the car, rim size, tire width, max rpms, power at various rpms, sound, also allowed you to assign what upgrade parts could be added to the car so it was possibly to make a 50s 356 go like the X1 does in GT5 only twice as fast if you could keep it on the road. The highest speed I ever got out of any of the cars there was a 944 which hit 670 mph before I lost control and went flying about a mile through the air after hitting a guardrail ;)

It was a lot of fun racing the more modest 200-300 mph builds :)

We were doing this on PCs over the local network so we each had a separate monitor. split screen would have been almost impossible due to the distractions of seeing the other players view and of course there were more than 2 of us which made it much more fun.

I've had countless times where my shoulders would kill. That's the small price I'd pay for self satisfaction.

PD will fix any GT6 hacking faster than you can say "easy money" this time around. There's no way they'll let their brand new game be tarnished by hybrids early on in it's life cycle.

Having said that I could care less what anyone does with their cars offline and PD will take care of the online portion of it I'm quite certain. Why anyone would be bothered by what some anonymous gamer is doing with their A or BSpec baffles me.
