I'm always looking for a new car but the right one needs to come along. I don't have a need for an SUV anymore since we sold our bigger boat. I think a car would do me just fine.

I have no idea to tell you the truth, it was a fishing boat of some sorts, I think it was 12ft mayber. I never used it much but my dad would take my truck when he went to the lake. Now we just have my dad's 8ft Starcraft fishing boat (it's like 20 years old) with a 30hp Evenrude outboard on it.

The one we have now looks like this...
http://www.starcraftmarine.com/?page=seriesdetails&hullid=1&serid=8&tab=modeldetails&boatid=441

They aren't anything special, just my truck was the only thing with a hitch. Now my dad got a hitch put on his van so he can tow things.

It's a 4.3L making a claimed 190hp and 250 lb.ft, I highly doubt those numbers though, I thinking it's closer to 160hp.
I dunno. I've dynoed mine (Don't ask. It was a sort of bragging thing between me and my friends. I got second.) when it was good and it made 170 on the dyno (actually 168). With a 17% FR loss, that is 196 at the crank. Still not a speed demon, but hey. Hell, even if it did only pull 160, that is still 187 at the crank. Quite close to the actual numbers.
And V8 conversions are cheap as hell, and easy as hell to do. I'm seriously considering doing one to mine so I can beat Doug in a race (for more reasons than that, of course). It would probably get better mileage, too.

It just feels like a pig though, 190hp should feel somewhat fast I would think. I mean ya it does 0-60 in like 7.8 seconds or something (it's been a while since I tested it) and ya it can tow quite well for something it's size. I guess I just have to much expectations out of it.

And I hear you on the fuel mileage, I get on average 17mpg and that includes a highway leg of driving every weekday. I don't understand why it gets so poor of mileage, it's not overly heavy (3200lbs) and it isn't geared poorly either. I have heard guys getting upwards of 25mpg with their 4.3's but I kinda doubt it.

bah.. my 4100 lb automatic volvo 850 with a 2.3 I5 averages a highway rating of 15mpg. thats tested by me over 100 miles. 👎 its got 170K on the clock though, and i have never used a fuel systems cleancer or a oil additive.

If you ever put a fuel system cleaner or any sort of additive, you must remember that you get what you pay for. The expensive ones have some decent chemisty and science behind them, the cheap ones...Well, they don't.

Blazin, I think 17MPG is decent for the Blazer. Our Astro (keeping in mind that it's based on the same platform and drivetrain, with a different body stuck on top) only gets between 20-23 Canadian MPG with my mom driving.

I see that the Blazer only weighs 3200 lbs. Hell, that's fairly light in my books. My Talon weighs in around 3280 lbs. Freakin' porker.

Alright I was wrong, I've always been told by the guys on the S-10 forum they weigh 3200lbs. but I just googled it and it says 3700 lbs but that's with fluids and what not. I really don't know who to believe but I more likely to say it's heavier then 3200lbs. But then again that might be the 4 door one.

I would like to put my truck on a scale just to see what it comes to.

Which compared to these days isn't bad, hell a new Standard Holden Commodore is 4000lb's.

Had a photoshoot today. No that isn't my house.

Thanks!

The roll pans for the Xtreme's look funny though.

I'm usually not a big fan of Blazers. Never have been since I was a young boy. My dad bought one and we wrecked it maybe two months later.

Anyhow, as far as Blazers go, yours look great. 👍

Thanks, it's actually for sale and will either be sold or traded in within 2 weeks time.

I'm bring Europe to me, getting a Mini Cooper in about two weeks. Granted I would love to be living over there but I don't think that's going to happen...at least for now.

Well, best of luck with the new wheels and I hope the Blazer's new owner will treat it as nicely as you did.

👍

I really like that last pic you posted. it's not yours, is it?

The no-ass-Blazer? Nah it's not mine, the roll pan was never my style because I always kind of wanted to live if I got rear ended .

It has, I should be picking it up on Tuesday if the loan stuff gets taken care of.

Sage be praised!

:D

Enjoy. Now you'll be able to dart in and take the spot from that moron in the Mercury Sable before he can even turn his steering wheel.
