OK since some of you know my trial did not go to plan, because i used most of my energy up. Rushing up to the bank, I be telling you lot when my future football trials are on in this topic.

Ok the first trial through a football trials service i be signing up to. I be paying to go to is Reading FC next year, in the mean time. I have to ring the local teams up, to make me get use to playing half a season.

I am cutting of each team off the list one by one, was going to ring 2 more up last week. But forgott, so note toself.

Remember to ring teams up next week, one team i rang up a cople weeks ago. Forgott to email me back after i rang them 2 times. That local team has 1 more chance to ring me up. If they fail.

Then well there not getting me this season, or next season. If I am playing for a pro team by then, hopfully.

Found out how to do the right saves, did not do them the right way. When i played my mate, I did however.

Start getting down and low to save on the ground again, like one on one. Most of the times, I did get them from his feet and between.

And if he got pass got back up, and still stopped it at ttimes. Still trying to get back to my best.

But hopfully that will be here in the next year or 2, if it takes longer like 2-4 years then fine. Also going back to gym more this week or next week mate. Another thing i did save more, then letting in.

One more thing back to the goal keeping, I have started once again to go more on my toes. To move to goal to goal more quick, just glad I came out of goal to narrow the one on one.

Ive always been a pretty good goalie, my advice to you would be to keep you eye on the ball (i assume you do this already) always be in the frame of mine "your not gonna ****ing score against me", dont get caught out on the wrong side of goal, ive done this a few times in a few years and been humiliated with the ball floating over my head, stay as central as you can, in a one on one situation, stay on your line until you are confident that you can go and make the save, either that or do what i do and absolutely fly out of your goal towards them and make them **** emselves. With corners/crosses, make sure you are the dominant force, if youve got it call it, if you havnt got it get the **** back on your line. Hard long range shots, theres not a lot you can do with these, your safest option is to palm it over if its a high one or punch it away if its low, if its on the ground get down with it and curl yourself like a big hand to make sure it doesnt go away from you. Work on your reaction time as well, if your one on one and he suddenly shoots you need to be able to react to it, this side of it ismy strongest, play some golf and build up your hand/eye co-ordination as this really helps.

Study pro keepers as well and when you go to play jsust put yourself in the right frame of mind or you wont play well.

Good luck:tup:

I still watch the ball, will be watching it way more. Once i finally get a local team to ring me up. Of late, been watching goal keepers.

From highlights on ITV's program to show The Championship games, and Match of the Day 2. Next time, I will think thoughts that make me mad. Because when i was at school that helped.

Best save I ever done was like 7 shots in a row, that was at school. I still feel, I can reclaim my best form and get better. But I am glad i found a site, offering tips aswell.

I know mates from my school days, said i can make it. I just hope when i pay to go to the Reading Trial. I be back at my best and even better.

Last thing if I make it hopfully, some people who i like on GTPlanet. Will get free tickets to matches i play in, and even money. Since I am a nice person.

Ive made some saves that produced a mass of gasps from fellow team mates and opponents.

Ones someone hit a ferocious shot from about 25 yards, i saw it very late, jumped and palmed it away over the bar in acrobatic style. Another one, one o one with the same guy, he was about 17 yards out when he struck it and i leaped to the left and got it away. Theres many more reaction saves and impossible saves that ive done but cant remember exact situations right now:D

My 2 most funny saves were, face face while on the ground. And rear save. Had so many saves with my face, us Goal Keepers have to use any part of are selfs to save the ball.

Even if it means a headache, or even a save in the groin. Which I am use to. At School i did school from the goal line a lot, even one that went right across the ground. I have come out of goal at times, and scored even if it meant, going past 3 or 4 players then scoring top corner.

If the ball goes for my head i try and block my head 99% successful, and if your in the situation where the ball has hit you in the groin, then you need to really start learning how to be a keeper, you should never be in a position for the ball to hit you there.

And ive scored a free kcik from 35 yards, and scored from my own goal-line once in a stunning twist of fate when a gust of wind blew as i hit it. good times, goood times.

That only happens when someone is close to me, they try and blast and chip it. But mostly that only happened at School, learned a lot since then GT Fan.

Theres one thing, no matter how good you are, how felxy, agile or whatever, when they chip it from close range, your screwed.

Hey TVR&Ferrari_fan, do you know many people from any of the teams? I know a few from Leigh RMI, I use to work with a couple of the lads, I still work with one of them, the other works in the Trafford center now. Their highest paid player get £90 per match, Ian Taylor the guy I work with makes £30 or £40 per game, he's a very good player but he might be missing his chance to get into a league team since he'll be 20 soon and hasn't really been to enough trials to get himself noticed enough.

Don't know any of the Leigh players, but there a tempting team to try and get trials at. While i work my way from the bottom, upwards.

Also if you can time it right, you can stop a chip shot.

You can but in a match situation with defenders closing him down, your going down towards to the ball and he chips it you cant bounce back up in a millisecond, but if your confident hes not gonna shoot then you can stay in your goall.

If your quick on your feet you can quickly get up and jump after getting up.

Not if the balls behind you;)

Trust me, it is easy to say it but its harder to do it in a match situation.

And im not talking about 5 a side.

But quickly turning and jumping can give you one last chance. To save it on the line.

Yeah but when do you see professional keepers even pulling that off.

There are goal keepers who can do that. Anyway I,m off to do some situps, and some other Exercises.

I've never seen a keeper turn and and grab the ball unless it's a very slow ball, otherwise by the time the keepers turned the balls in the back of the net.

Yeah as a keeper you SHOULD turn, because there is always a chance the guy didn't hit the ball right or whatever and you can reach it. But generally, you don't save the ball that way, it's something you should do but don't think you will save many doing that, if you've got to turn to grab the ball you've already been beaten and only the strikers mistake will let you get to it in time.
