Looks great at the rear mate! đź‘Ť Don't touch it, just wind the front down a little. :D

Think I might have to wind the rear up a notch, but the front is going down ;)

Anyway, I got tyres fitted to the Ronal Turbos today.

And the money shot, a coin to show the lip. Or should I say to show the lack of lip?

Anyway, I'll have the fronts on tomorrow, I just have to get the car up on wooden blocks in order to be able to jack it up :D

Fy søren, så jammen meg tøft ut! :D:tup:

Can't wait to see 'em on the Dai' mate đź‘Ť

Cheers, guys. Diablomonkey, measuring from front bumper and down is worth next to nothing. Oil pan, subframe or floor clearance is much more fun :D

Got the wheels on today.

Wow...I've never seen a Daihatsu (Not even the Copen, MOVE, or Mira) look THAT good.

Aside from GT2's Storia Rally car.

Sharp one, man. Sharp.

JDM PLATE!!!!

Wow...it just is really sharp. It's almost a shame it has a stock muffler hanging there. How's it drive, out of curiosity?

You've achieved the impossible! You've made a Charade look cool!

Well done mate. đź‘Ť Looks good. Now, tint the windows.

No "tints" on my car..

JDM PLATE!!!!

Wow...it just is really sharp. It's almost a shame it has a stock muffler hanging there. How's it drive, out of curiosity?

I'll need a new as became the first victim of a stiff ride. New exhaust and alignment will be the first priorities now, it's loud as hell and not exactly great to drive at low speeds. Awesome in corners, though. Body roll is non-existant đź‘Ť

Ah, auxiliary gauges. Just what every modified car needs! seems as if those are in an OEM surround.

Man that is one cool looking Charade. I lub your wheels.....

The only way this could be better was if it was rocking the 3 pot turbo. Or is that part of the plan for the future?

Ohhh, driving over that block paving must have hurt! :ouch:

I think it needs a little spoiler, a wrap around style, on the rear, nothing extreme obviousley, just subtle and body coloured.

*Bump*

Haven't heard any updates in this thread for a while, and Eirik hasn't posted for about a month, but I thought I'd wish him congratulations on his car being "car of the month" in the readers' rides section of Retro Cars magazine! Recognised it straight away when I saw it on the page.

Here's the clipping. Apologies for the shonky quality, I don't have a scanner and I took it with my camera in low light, as steady as I could!

Really is a great looking car đź‘Ť And kudos because it beat a really nice Golf Mk2 and an E30 Alpina C2 2.7!

Awesome G102, brings back memories of the one my brother had i actually learnt to drive in one and awesome cars. Engines are bullet proof. Use to run on no oil for like 2 weeks and it never died. I was thinking about purchasing it off my brother to do a full gtti (cb70/80) conversion but my mate wrote if off and then a few months later i find the cappuccino.

Also congrats on the feature!

homeforsummer

Wow, thanks man. That was seriously nice of you :) Got back from holiday yesterday, I knew it was gonna be in but not that it was car of the month, which actually is pretty sick. Loving the Mazda and the Golf as well.
And guys, thanks. What I'm most proud of is that it was Simon's (the editor) idea of the car in readers rides, I asked him whether Retro Cars would have a readers' rides section or not. Forgot about it, posted up some pics on another forum and he sent me a pm and told me I should fire away some pics and he would put it in there. Really cool guy.

The car had been left for a month, made a stupid "startup" vid no one cares about, here.

And took it out today, drove for an hour and generally had a blast driving like a hooligan. Took a stupid pic:

just courious whether you have an exhaust system and pod filter? On the one we had we did the exhaust and pod filter....sound freaken awesome, especially all the air being sucked throught! Also throttle was more responsive too.

Wow, thanks man. That was seriously nice of you :)

No worries :) It was just odd seeing a car I recognised in there! Very glad Retro Cars is back, I was quite disappointed when the old publisher pulled it.

What are your next plans for it then?

It's been a while.. Last season ended up with a couple of shows, me getting some parts and dailing it into December.

Some parts:

Then I'll just copy and paste shamelessly from a recent update at Retro Rides:

"Long time no see..

Last season ended with me having to use the car in December. That means salt here in Norway. I lost motivation as the winter came, but managed to get it into winter storage before the worst of winter sat in. I haven't even bothered hooking off the battery.. Stupid, I know.

Today reading Retro Rides, I suddenly got motivation again :)

I was a little unsure whether the coilovers were stainless steel or not. If they weren't, I knew I'd have work in front of me. So I did the only thing I could tonight, I tried loosening them. And it worked.

coilover.jpg

As you can see, the lower mounts aren't welded on these coilovers (same as K-Sport, D2 etc). A chap at a Daihatsu board with the same coilovers told me I could adjust the spring platform and the lower mount upwards.. To say that the car has been stiff is an understatement. Spring are actually now so compressed they're holding the platform back. When I try to wind the springs down, it's as if the spring platform has rusted.. I know it hasn't though, I noticed the same thing happened last summer.

Tomorrow I need to cut the tops of some spring compressor,s so I can compress the springs and get the platform down. You know, short springs need short compressors ;) The goal is to lower the car properly this time around, and have it much lower than it was in 2008."

Homeforsummer, if you didn't read the long long text (I don't blame ya), my plans for the car is to get it way lower :)

Why not remove 2 of the locking collars?

That will give you another half inch or so, and they don't exactly need to "lock" considering you're the entire way down anyway.

EDIT: More pics with the front lip on, it looks good.đź‘Ť
