 I like your thinking!

It's what I've been thinking for a long time. It's low, but it's not there.

Removing the two locking nuts was actually a pretty good idea :) It'll only give me a cm or something though. I'll try :)
Oh, and the goal is also to make the car better to drive, by taking the spring down instead of up. I've got an inspection coming in the end of May, where I need to show the car with stock struts. After that I'll do an alignment with the coilovers on :)

Got them up and made progress today. Cleaned some of the parts of the coilovers.. I'm in for more cleaning, and I also need to grease up the threads.

Bought some gauges last year. Couldn't be bothered messin' with them so I just put them away, but recently I ordered up a correct gauge panel. Got it today and got the gauges in (gotta wire them up though). Should maybe paint the needles to match the stock gauges, but finally I'm where I want to be interior wise :)

I think the gauges are placed where the radio used to be, but I could be wrong of course :)

I think you're right. :dopey: Or maybe he's hiding it like my brother did with the stereo he put in my car when he used to drive it. Integrated into the center console. It was very slick.

90 bhp, but then it weighs under 850 kg too, so it's much fun to throw around..
CD player will be hidden in the glove box I guess.. Things take time though. And no, car is not going satin black.. I don't destroy my cars :)

PS, I have one more trick up my sleeve before I'm done with the inside... :)

Looks ace, though I think I prefer the deep-dish wheel. But still, remains one of my favourite cars on this forum 👍

Haha, looks like it. Maybe Daihatsu had to go and be a rebel so none of the steering wheels fit right. Or maybe he just took them as he was putting them on.

How likely is it that those bolts are going to break on a vehicle only driven on the street at mostly sane speeds, likely with power steering?

First bit, 👍 Second bit, I'm guessing that Eirik's Charade might not have power steering.

What happens in an accident? I could probably peel that steering wheel off by hand with only 2 bolts in it.

In an accident it won't matter too horribly much... Provided the seatbelts work properly. Sure, sure it COULD come off and then impale the driver, but that would require it to come COMPLETELY OFF before the driver's body hit it... Which is not likely.

It does actually :) Deleting pas if/when I'm shaving the bay, but you can always keep the lines, rack and tank..

In an accident I'll be dead in this tin can anyway, so I'm not too afraid.. Thanks for reminding me though, I need to find the rest of the screws (for the looks, lol). And no, you can't 'peel' it off by hand, no chance in hell :)

Tried out the new coilover springs today, went lower but the coilover on the driver's side is now rubbing on the drive shaft rubber boot :( Gotta figure something out.. Then I can lower more as well :)

Those boots are expendable. Sacrifices, man. I've got a buddy who's MK4 golf is so low the passenger side driveshaft is grinding a notch in the frame rail from hitting bumps. He calls it "completely normal". One time when he let me drive it I got high centered on a rippled section of road, had to back up and try it again. It was retarded.
