My fight with the US government

We all support you fully as does pretty much everybody in this country. I have no idea why the government pushes prosecution like this when there is absolutely no public support for it. It's outrageous. All they're doing is pissing off their citizens to the brink.

If the next appeal is won again and it's plausible, I'd suggest finding the grandest lawyers in the country and sueing the DA for whatever harrassment charges you can come up with and the biggest amount of damages imaginable. A simple dismissal is not good enough to repair years of chronic stress and fear.

Thanks for posting that. I have been refraining from posting it for fear of "spreading hate" towards her.

They have 60 days (55 now) to appeal.

I think those petitions are pointless tbh. The deal is Obama and it's funny to me how many liberals voted for and fell in love with him all the while hating his methods. He sure picks some winners lol.

Unrelated or maybe a little bit related is the recent supreme court ruling on his recess appointments. The best part? The doj basically saying the administration will ask the supreme court to over turn it's ruling.

I wish I could sign this as well, it's ridiculous to see someone in the public eye behaving as such a bully and still be in that position now, she should be subjected to intimidation.

And they can't be stupid enough to be doing it accidentally.

And I'm stoked that the decision went in your favour. Excellent.

Carmen Ortiz? Niko's slutty GF from GTA IV? lolololol

On a more serious note, good job overpowering your greedy government 👍 I also fully stand behind removing the lady from office even though I probably can't sign because I'm not American.

I had a quick skim through the judges decision, this made me laugh:
'He has had no training in law enforcement or investigation, or in drug detection.'
This just made me picture a blood hound running the motel:lol:, anyway i'm glad things came out in your favour:)

ALL OVER!!!!! Just got the call and there will be no appeal from the us government!!!

Finally able to close this chapter and begin living life again.
Thanks to everyone for your support. It really meant alot to us.

Outstanding news, Caz!

If you don't mind my asking, how much did this farce end up costing in legal fees and whatnot?

Congratulations on your victory! This is a big kick in the balls for those power-hungry people in the government.

Is a lawsuit for harassment or anything in the cards for you, or is that just more headache than it's worth?

It should be done.

His family would have lost income due to it, all the legal fees.

Plus sue them and win, it sends a message to the fascist government they can't push the people around.

I found this article today, mainly as a result of knowing about Caz's case... it's a fascinating and somewhat disturbing read about the 'use and abuse of civil forfeiture' in the US, and although the Caswell family's case is not mentioned, it does detail how civil forfeiture started off targeting big-time drug dealers, but has subsequently turned into a tool for raising money for cash-strapped police forces, often at the ruinous expense of people who have not been found guilty of any criminal activity - and often those who have been subjected to civil forfeiture cannot afford to challenge the outcome. There are some clear resonances with what happened to Caz and his family, but I hope that posting it in this thread is not inappropriate.

Not at all innappropriate.
Thanks for posting it. Reading it now.

Very, ummmm, good read.
Thanks
