Those car models are looking fantastic! Some nice choices there indeed, really like the Renault 5 Turbo and the Diablo. Game is looking awesome so far, good luck on the project.

Ok, some cool news.
We still plan to release the next build at the end of this month. We are working hard on it, i though i still had a lot of time but we are already the 6 ( mega pressure lol ).

We are working very hard on racing track assets, (we completely stopped car production for the moment).

So we already made a bunch of reusable objects as well as textures work for the game.
Like dirt-grass transition, road-dirt transition etc...

I'll post some pictures of our work soon.

@zondaman2 Which model of Honda prelude are you talking about ?
I am not very familiar with this car. Just looked on google image and the Honda prelude VTi-R AATS look very sexy!

We can try to work on it for build 07.

@Jai
Thanks!
Yep, the Renault 5 Turbo was nice addition, we have too many Italian supercar for the moment, we will make more casual cars as well.

Looking forward to the pictures and the next build jujunosuke.

Shameless car request: Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 (8th generation)

Ok, some screenshot of the modeling and texturing of the new Racing track we are working on!
We still need to create more assets before working on the racetrack shape.
At the moment, these screenshot does not represent the track itself, its just a bunch of objects put together.

Im impressed you are really working well on this.

 Wow!

I wish I knew how to make such detailed vehicles and track textures! It looks like you're about to make iRacing quality track models; the amount of detail is similar.

Soon, I should likely be able to help (albeit slightly) by helping to develop the tracks, but, I'd have to have access to your textures, otherwise it'd be too hard to match the files.

Also, Bob's Track Builder has tire walls that look like they'd fit in well. Should we just use those, and not have to worry about modeling the new texture?

I really want to help, because it seems like a daunting amount of work, and a valiant effort. It seems like things will work out, though, too.

So, would you still like help, or should I just do testing?

@thanks all for your encouragements!

@MrMelancholy Thank you so much for your help dude, yeah making a simple yet realistic racing track is just pain is the ***

As me and my friend are more used to 3D modeling program rather than using BTB, our workflow with Blender is still the best for us.

However, for people like you that can use BTB and be confortable with it, you should definitely work with it.

The only problem is often see with BTB is that all people are using the same 3Dmodels and texture that come among it.

That mean that its often very obvious to see that this track was made with BTB or have this kind of BTB touch.
Of course, we would like to avoid that with our game and give every track the same aesthetic touch.

As you said sharing the texture would be one solution.

But for the moment you can just make your track with your own assets and textures.
Because making the track is actually the biggest challenge.
I can eventually do a kind of rework by changing some assets or textures later.

True, I'm also guilty of this.
Unfortunately the process to import a SketchUp 3D model is quite painful and I don't have the time to learn how to use Blender or 3DSMark.

Really like the pictures, cannot wait to try it out.

Some cool news!
I have finally found an efficient way to calculate the front- and rear differential in order to make FWD, RWD and 4WD!

Took me some times but finally got it working!
The good news it its also possible to give the amount of power we want on rear and front.
For example, 70% to rear and 30% to front.

From the test i have made so far, the car react as its supposed to be.

FWD : a little bit of understeer.
RWD : oversteer.
4WD : good acceleration, a little bit of oversteer.

This are only the first tests but it looks really fun so far.
Of course it need a lot of tunning right now. The most difficult to tune are powerful RWD in my opinion.

Also, we are making really nice progress on the racetrack, so the release is maintained to the end of this month!

Stay tunned all!

Congrats, that sounds like a great achievement, I will be looking forward to the next build 👍

Guys, bad news, we are having so hard time and so much difficulties to create Racetrack for our game.

I know it was a difficult task but damn, its just incredibly challenging!

Does anyone here have any recommendation or knowledge about making Racetrack for games ?

The next release will surely not be ready for the end of the month.
I am so sad about that, but wasn't expecting to struggle that much with a Racetrack...

Sorry all.
Any advices or recommendation is very welcome.

G.T. Ace, would you send over the BTB builds you have? I don't have BTB Evo license (in the works) yet so I can't make a track...

Let's just make a track, and see Build 6; momentum keeps people interested. Seeing this game take shape... I'm loving it. :)

I am thinking at what we made so far me and my friend on this project and we are probably going to revise downward our expectation about the game.

By thinking at our project again, we are only 2 guys with our free time and minimum budget.
The market is already very competitive and there are a lot of very nice racing simulation that are coming out recently.

So, i am looking at a new strategy for the future of our game.
But we just don't want to give up now, its just impossible!

Yesterday, i played to Ridge Racer type 4 again and i was like waow! It was unbelievable game for its time!
I especially loved the racetracks and music selection.
Of course, the driving is way too arcadish and kill a little bit the gameplay imo but, thinking about it again, i would love to drive on those kind of tracks with a more realistic driving model.

And since i live in Tokyo, i have a lot of references that can give me inspiration.
So, maybe it can be a new good path for our game ?

Give away the usual racetrack style that everyone know and give more freestyle would be good idea imo.
I will give a try.

Of course, for people that can help us with BTB tracks they are also very welcome.

Why not a little bit of both?
Yep, thats the plan :D we still have an old track that my friend made a long time ago, that was quite interesting. We are trying to redesign it to make it fit in the next build.

And as i said earlier i am myself working on a City racetrack.
As i said, i have been influenced by Ridge Racer Type 4 recently.

Ok, enough talk and here are some screens :

Of course, if i have more screens to show before the Build 06 i will post them here.
Bye!

Sorry, but I don't quite understand what you want. :D

^ Brutaka says it looks fun, then. :dopey:

Yes it does 👍

Also to anyone working on this project; have you considered putting the complete game on the Ouya game console thats coming out in June? if you havent heard of it its a android based gaming system thats lets just about anybody develop and sell games on it.

Sorry, but I don't quite understand what you want. :D

Eine Strecke.

Simply put, just a course. But, that's old news. I'm excited to see jujunosuke's track, and I don't know if we have tools capable of besting his current track. :dopey:

Thanks for trying, anyways.

Jujunosuke, I what you've achieved thus far is pretty awesome, but I can understand how you might have got a little "bogged down" in details and perhaps are hoping for too much too soon. Perhaps as already suggested you could get a simple-looking fictional track running (you can still make it fun) then there's nothing stopping you improving on it later, with more trackside graphics and suchlike.

Also you could get more fun from it if there are some nice elevation changes. People who have come to this thread more recently may not be aware that your early builds had a track, so I would suggest getting a relatively simple track running on the browser version then carry on working on the cars, improve the track in time and then perhaps add more tracks and "real" tracks when you are able to and you've lived with the game a little longer. There's no hurry really, things like Project Cars show us how games evolve nowadays and grow with the people who make them and play them :)

@all :
I am always impressed to see how you guys support us.
This is absolutely amazing. GT Planet members are really nice and we would like to thank you again for your support.

We follow every advices and we will show some more screenshots soon.
And hopefully these screenshots will turn into a new build hehe.

You are doing a great job and we are all keen to see how your going.

At least your posting more progress than pd :)

Hi guys!
After few months of fail for creating a racetrack, i finally decided to work on my old racetrack and give it an update.
That is the easiest way i found in order to release the Build 06.

I am pretty confident to say that the build will be available at the beginning of June!

- 1 Test track.
- 5-10 drivable vehicles
- FWD - RWD - 4WD
- Very simple physic model

Here is screenshot of the WIP test track.
