It's great apart from two things that I can tell:

1. The inability to exit the game via a menu option

2. The steering response using the keyboard seems much too lazy meaning that I've had moments where I fishtail down the straight or can't accurately negotiate the corners because the car is still turning long after I've removed my finger from the key.

Although the steer in is very direct.

First I want to tell you: Congratulations, awesome job! It's going to be the GT of PC. Second: Are you supposed to leave the track, I don't think so, because I exited and all was non solid. It would be an interesting feature that you could leave the track, atleast only by the interiores, and that bridge be solid (I tried to drove on it, believe me). Anothe is that (if not already in your plans) add a bonet and inside cam. Another thing is, how do I get in reverse in automatic? And the sand traps are like the asphalt. But I suppose that you already were going to fix those in next builds (or some not, it's up to you :) ). I had a good time drifting my Skyline in manual, it's very good the shifting system you made. Keep up the good work, as I hope to see more ;)

First, i would like to thanks all people who downloaded the last Build so far.
Second, i would like to double thanks all people who gave feedback about it :)

Now, i'll try to answer some questions :)

I'd say the most important thing to add at the moment is a clock and laptimes list.
Yep, i am working on it for the next Build.

How difficult would a simple smoke texture be?
Not very difficult, so i plan to add it for the next Build.

Both of these issue will be fixed in the next Build.

@Diatosta

Actually, we are not supposed to leave the track, that is why i didn't put any colliders on outside track objects.
It would be overkill anyway.

For the reverse and automatic, i am working on it for the next Build.
Same for more views, like bonnet view etc...
Also more cars.

Sorry guys you have to wait a bit but next Build is planned for next month only...
But hopefully, there will be enough surprises.

By the way, what do you think is the most used controller on PC and MAC ?
I would say that almost everyone use Xbox one, but i am not totally sure.

What do you guys use ?

Oh, ok, that's good. Good luck. Also, I sometimes use my Thrustmaster F440 (steering wheel) and other I use my PSP/PS3 controller. But it's that way because I don't own a XBOX (and the PS3 was pure luck! ) or neither a XBOX controller. So I use with Remotjoy/Fusa GamePad. Also if you wanna know, the glitch in the track (where you can go outside) is right after the start, between the rails (in case you didn't knew ;) )

My Trust Gamepad did not seem to work at all this time (IIRC, it did work with one of the earlier builds) but nonetheless, I still enjoyed the F355 around the Test Track. Keep it up!

If I had to pick between the XBox and the PlayStation, I use the playstation controller.

But I wouldn't use either, I'd use my trusty Logitech G27.

Can you try if your Thrustmaster respond in the game ?

Are you sure ?
Compared to the previous build, i did not change anything that could screw up the compatibility (or maybe yes but i don't remember ^^)

But I wouldn't use either, I'd use my trusty Logitech G27
Same here, can you check if the Logitech G27 make the wheels move or something ?

Of course there will be 0 Force Feedback but, the input itself may work.
In Unity documentation, any form of input should work.

Thanks guys!

I can't drive the cars because my old computer can't run this. I get only 2 FPS when I try the game.

Just downloaded the game and am extremely impressed by your efforts. If this is truly one persons work, I tip my hat to you. This game, when its done will be the same success GT had. The physics model feels a bit floaty, but very responsive overall. I think the graphics are very good as well, it runs very well on my laptop (I can take this game anywhere).

If possible, I would like to see an extremely basic damage model included, for that extra sense of realism. Oh yeah, and an El Camino!

So, here's the thing (after all, I could test the wheel today :) ). The wheel at it's idle position make the car turn right, and at 3/4 to the left it goes centered, and then it turns to the left. And the pedals won't work, or shift paddles, but instead, it accelerates and shift gear with the wheel buttons. Hope this helps for the game development :D

Also, jujunosuke, can I upload a gameplay video I made to youtube and post it here?

Jujunosuke, I take my hat off to you sir, you did an amazing job. (if not working alone change to you guys :))
I played build 6 and as a comparison I drove a lap in build 4 afterwards to see what changed.(Also tried the webplayer but you took that offline I guess)

My remarks(tested with keyboard):

- Brakes quite slowly, especially compared to build 4 (I know build 4 is miles behind but still. ;))
- Sense of speed, I think that's quite hard to get right anyway, but it feels a bit slow while I drive 260km/h in the R8.
- When 1st gear selected car starts to roll(no problem in that btw), next I drove full throttle in 1st against the rev limit and kept it there, when I use the handbrake only once the car does not accelerate any longer. Only when I go to neutral or second gear the car responds. This is the case with 1st to 6th gear.

Other than that I can only say that you've done a really great job on updating the track, the car models and the physics.
I also noticed that the curbstones really bite. :)
The tyre physics are also very good I could really notice the difference between the tyres types.
Playing build 4 afterwards made clear that you've done a tremendous amount of work, so again I take my hat off to you.

Hope you can find the time, effort, dedication and passion to continue this project.

Just tried, couldn't get it to work...
Arf.. ok thanks for testing... i will investigate.

I can't drive the cars because my old computer can't run this. I get only 2 FPS when I try the game.
My 7 years old Mac book pro can make it run at steady 60fps. How old is your computer ? Did you tried to reduce the quality at the beginning ?

it runs very well on my laptop (I can take this game anywhere).
I love that concept too! Making run the game everywhere is a really nice concept!
That is why i don't want to push the graphics too high at the moment and stay simple.

Thank you for the great feedback, that help the development.
It looks like your wheel need to be calibrated for the game. (I need to make a menu option for that, so we can adjust position 0 for the center of the wheel).

Also, jujunosuke, can I upload a gameplay video I made to youtube and post it here?
Feel free to post any gameplay video you want, i'll be glad.

@Flex0r
Thank you for your great feedback!
I really appreciate that you tried the Build 4 in comparison to Build 6.
Actually the Build 4 is not available anymore for download, that mean that you are on of those few that have it :)
(You may become rich by selling it as Redline Racing prototype if the game get famous haha).

For the sens of speed, its really hard, i don't know what to do really.
Maybe adding more side track objects, and chaning the road to a less linear type would help increase the sens of speed a bit.. I dunno.

One thing you could put to add sense of speed is speed increasing motion blur. So, the faster you travel, the more motion blur it'll have :D

I agree. But not too much motion blur.

Also, how about adding a small open track for testing tune setups (if it can be added in Build 07 or 08). It will be like Gymkhana from GT4.

Hi! So I'm now uploading the gameplay to YouTube, so those unafortunate who can't play it on PC atleast see how it is. Just wait a hour or 2 ;)

I read some interesting post on other racing simulation to increase the sens of speed.
So, i found some tricks to give a better sens of speed.
Also, i am working on the bonnet/hood view.
It is a little bit a pain in the ... because i have to test each cars and put the camera at the good position for each cars. But thats ok, i'll do it :)

Also, the website is updated a bit, and its now possible to register.
Registering does not do anything special at the moment but it will be for the next build 07, you will have the ability to record your time and compare it with other players.

The second reason for registering is to support us.
The more registered users we have, the more the pressure we can put on sponsors or real brand cars to sponsor us.

** TO ENGLISH NATIVE PEOPLE **
I need your help :)
I added some text on the Home page of the site, "KEY FEATURES", but i am not sure if the English is correct.

Please feel free to correct it and let me now, so i can update it.
Thank you for your help!

Thanks Diatosta!

Thats a very good idea!
We will add this stuff soon

About that gameplay video, here it is!

I hope you like and see my very good skills at manual shifting and drifting cough*cough :D :P

Diatosta, its absolutely awesome gameplay video!
I could not do something that good myself :)

You have some good skills, you managed to drift while changing the view at the same time, waow. :)

Glad you liked! :)

You know, I had also made some Unity experiments, but most didn't worked so well, but I keep trying, so some day I'll maybe achieve something like your game. That said, keep up the good work ;)

I downloaded this title on my computer yesterday and was surprised with how well it ran. I really like the overall premise of this game; Keep up the good work! 👍

(P.S. I just registered. :))

Hey jujunosake, I have an idea for you (if you didn't had it already). In Viper Racing (you know what game is that, right :P ) the reverse is in R key. Gran Turismo has a similar style of separating brake from reverse. So you could use R as the reverse when you're in automatic for guys like me who are used to use it for that function. Just an idea. ;)

How in the world have I missed this project? Good thing the summer here allows me to try it the next few weeks, and judging from what I've seen I'm in for a good time 👍

As for suggestions to cars, you seem to have a good bunch already, though, as someone mentioned in the other thread, I have a fear of licensing unless you can somehow convince them that you don't intend on doing anything bad to their brands. Replacing them with fantasy ones that look similar to the real ones should do the trick 👍 and, I'm curious, how many tracks do you have in plans, and do you mind suggestions/user creations for that as well?
