Heh, can you say 14 seconds? The guy absolutely sucked. He launched at idle or just above it, and misshifted ****loads of times.

I think his fastest was a 13.87, slowest was a 17.X.

He almost got beaten my a rust bucket 70-80's era Japanese car that ran 20's!

Yeah, I think he had a lot of money, but no talent at all.

Unless he was a novice.

Dream on mate. I know you guys got our Motorway Patrol series a couple of years ago (I wish they would bring the programme back:( ) but since then, we have got a whole lot of bull**** laws.
example- First time if you get caught street racing or spilling oil on the ground for doing burnouts, you car will get impounded for 28 days, plus thousands of dollars in fines. Second time, the cops take your car off you and sell it

So far the highest I've had the car up to is 273 kph or 169.6mph and I still had about another 350rpm to go to my lowered rev cut of 8,000 rpm. BTW yes it was still accelerating.

****ing hell, where abouts did you do that?
Awesome car BTW. In one of those shots, it looks as though the front wheels are in the air:mischievous:

When the Skyline was on sale here, the GTR was going for NZ $125,000, which would be around US 65k ???
The rwd GT-t was going for NZ $65,000, which is a ****ing bargain(sp?), although they look bland next to the GTR, but still cool.
If they didnt take off those awesome models (including 200SX), Nissan would have a killer line up in NZ. GTR, GT-t, 200sx, 350Z, Patrol all at a bargain price:(

The Blue R32 GTR is owned and driven by Joe Kyle. He rebuilt that car as it was in pretty bad shape when he bought from auction. It was a stolen and recovered. It was spray painted black !
He has done an 11.22 and it is pushing about 590hp.

That blue R34 must be a GTT as it is C2 class which is 2wd forced induction.

Ummmm pleading the 5th on your question HRT :)

hehehe I dont tell people either.....cuz then it gets around and too many people go...then the cops find out about the spot and decide to patrol it more....then u have to find a new spot...

Manukau to Meremere should do it Razor. ;) SH1.

Niiiice long straights. I think a few 2am 'drives' might be in order when I got my Cobra (20 years down the track though...).

Dont worry Razor, I wont tell anyone

My favourite bit of road is SH1, Mugaweka Ranges. ****, I love the whole drive from Wellington to Hamilton, Desert Road, and I go round some dam on the Taupo to Te Awamutu (not SH1) road, then through to Hamilton. Napier- Taupo Highway is also good-very straight. I dont know any roads north of Auckland

Hmmm, there are the Waipu straights, about 40km worth of 2-3km 'straight then kink to the left or right' bits. About an hour north of Auckland I believe.

Yeah, Ive been to Waipu, when I was young but cannot remember the roads. I presume its the same as the Foxton straights.
I also forgot to mention the bit of road south of Taupo and between the Desert Road which is also fun. the only problem is the cops

there is this road that is very long that was recently paved and is completley deserted...I think shinez knows where...perfect for racing and top speed runs....and its in a desert so If you feel like taking the old WRX or EVO for a spin you just have to pull of the road and head towards the white tanks mountain....

Well I have made it from Auckland to Wellington in 6hrs 10 min. It was 568kms one way. Not bad considering I took SH1 all the way and you guys would be familar with the route and the towns with slow speed limits.
On a quick note made across the desert road in 20 min

Damnit, come down here so i can get a ride in your car!
Never driven/been in a GT-R before, only driven Dad's GTS-4. (which is still quite fast)

First time: thats pretty bloody harsh, I (think) that we would "only" cop the fines plus a court date and a conviction for reckless/careless/dangerous driving

Second time: Fark me, what friggen idiot got that law passed? I agree that if you get caught that you should be off the road, but take your car off you and sell it?!? thats just not cricket

I've considered a trip to the south island and if I do will let you know in advanced. Would be willing to swap some rides for a place to crash for the night.

Ah, well i don't have a ride. Dad lives about 3-4 hours away in Temuka too. But i could get up there if he let you stay. ;) (i'd run if i had to!)

Yep. My dads good mate is a mechanic. I was talking to him yesterday and he said he was told not to give WOFs to cars that have a louder exhaust than what it had when it rolled off the factory floor. You think that is bad? Well, he was also that it is acceptable for a "sensible middle age man" to have his exhaust louder and that they can get WOF.

What really amazes me is that this ****ing useless government can bring in these bull**** laws over night

HRT I agree but there is light at the end of the tunnel. The LTSA recently began sending out notices to all WOF to ease back on the exhaust noise part unless a car comes in that is over the top.

Oh I will be heading down to wellington at some stage soon again to meet up with the NZUPI club I am.

Mustang I am always open for options but looking forward to a long trip south as I have not been past wellington yet.
