We should do a full series sometime with this spec. Even if RT can't do it, it's just too fun a car to drive.

I was thinking that myself.

Whoever wants to do a spin-off, you have permission to use the logo. I have a couple different versions if you need it.

You and RT seem to have some epic battles.
Mainly since our pace is relatively close, we can run consistent laps, and we tend to work together in pulling away from everyone else. Then we wait until the last lap to settle it.

Admittedly, I've been learning a fair bit of defensive driving because of him.

I'm curious if in the race at Rome if he meant to go wide at that last turn or missed his brake or turn point.

I got booted from the server during the first lap so only got to watch after re-joining. It was a fun race to watch!

I need to start learning after effects soon, that the best thing for making my own "broadcast interface"?

Really all you need is a modern video editor that can mask or "key" and a copy of Adobe Photoshop.
But... if you can get after effects, do it, it is the industry standard for many reasons.
It's used for making the graphics, it's not mainly a video cutting/editing program (that would be software like Premiere, final cut pro, or something similar).

Yeah, I'm teaching myself premiere. Seems like you can do a lot of functionality just using that and photoshop with the "PSD to Sequence" importer. I've always wondered what after effects brings to the table.

In the video you posted, the opening I made with the smoke is what you would use after effects for. Or for creating something like this with help of a 3D program.

Fantastic videos. Most guys usually just tape their own races or the battle at the front, but you covered the entire races, focused on the right action and made them both into very watchable movies. 👍

It was also informative to see the different lines different drivers took at Tsukuba.

Thanks, I like finding the story of the race... more interesting from a video production stand point than just masturbating on my car. ;)
I noticed the same thing about tsukuba... me and Jason were the only ones taking the late-apex on the first turn.

Spoiler alert. Chapter 3 ends up being a rerun.

I will say that I was having so much trouble following Jason through that right kink. With bumper cam, it's pretty much blind.

Least there's other stuff going on in that race I can cut to ;)

Madrid you were just glued to each other while everyone else was in a solo time-trial for most of it.

I've got chapter 3-4 recorded ... just need to edit them so stay tuned. 👍

Great job again.

What's really odd is I disconnected at the end of lap 4 I'm almost sure, yet my car kept going for a long while.

Yeah, you can see it lazily sliding across track as RT catches up to it.

Totally didn't think to check this thread again.

Thanks for the vids. I wish you could move around in replay mode and change views, etc without all the other crap on screen. :indiff:

Aw, you didn't catch the costly pit road glitch on my end.

Somewhat off-topic, but I thought you'd do a vid like this for the FMSC Finale at Laguna Seca. An incredible race that I don't have since I got disconnected my engine blew up.

Yeah, still haven't gotten to that one.

Chapter 4 : motegi road course

great final race to a day of spec racing

After looking back at the series, it was a great track list for the car (in my opinion). Made for some really great wheel to wheel battles.

Like Sagaris said, you did a great job recording the race from different views. Loved seeing some of the lockups when overtaking.

You should have called it, The Jason Chronicles: Chapters 1,2,3, and 4. Bonus features including Rick and other PURE racers trying to keep up.

Thanks for watching. :D 👍

The most eye opening thing about watching the replays so in-depth is how much no-ABS improved the racing. I really wasn't expecting that; at best I expected lock-ups to just throw people off the road (which did happen on some occasions) but at every track there's several passes that only happened because someone was able to "out brake" their competition. Which just doesn't happen when everyone can mash the pedal and let the ABS figure out how to stop the car.

It also opened up new opportunities, like those drifts through turn 1 I did when I didn't need the tires as much as the extra tenth from a late-brake rear-lockup drift. (The couple times I got it to work out was just by pushing the bias from 3/2 to 3/5 on the straight. Then if you brake later than usual and trail into the corner the rear end would swing out nicely without locking the fronts so by pointing it into the next apex and getting right back on it you could shave .1-.2 off of the sector1 time. Not a terribly reliable tactic as you can see when I forgot to put the balance back to a front bias and did a much less controlled smoke show into the tight right starting sector 2 :ouch: )

I had a lot of seat time in the car before starting this series, so I was used to it much more than anyone else I think.
