The most eye opening thing about watching the replays so in-depth is how much no-ABS improved the racing. I really wasn't expecting that; at best I expected lock-ups to just throw people off the road (which did happen on some occasions) but at every track there's several passes that only happened because someone was able to "out brake" their competition. Which just doesn't happen when everyone can mash the pedal and let the ABS figure out how to stop the car.

This +10e10

That is why I really had a blast racing Outlaw in race 1, neither of us could race at 100% and not risk a lock up, keeping close racing possible.

The Jason Chronicles: Chapters 1,2,3, and 4. Bonus features including other PURE racers trying to keep up and Rich finding new ways to come in 2nd.
Fixed.

Believe me, I was at 100% for most of Tsukuba, sometimes over. I think everyone but Jason had their cars broken in, so pushing was the only way I could stay up front. Funny how I all but wrecked it a few times, yet, on the vid, it looks benign. :ill:

I think Dragon was the only guy with full HP. I was half broken in.
That "sometimes over" Is why I was still in your draft at the end :sly:
I was sitting at 99% letting your draft keep me close.

Thanks for watching. :D 👍

I did that while braking too late to hold onto RT's draft at Motegi T2 .. :ouch:.

I had a lot of seat time in the car before starting this series, so I was used to it much more than anyone else I think.

Heh, team b-spec were the only ones who drove my car before race-day. Hence my awful f*ups on cold tires in the first laps of race 1 & 2... Had it pretty figured out by motegi though.

Proof positive that HP advantage can't compensate for poor driving.

Nice one. 👍

I hope the no-ABS reg sticks, the format here was damn near perfect. :)

yeah, for a series I think we'd have to spec the top-level drivetrain components just to remove the cheat potential

And that's one of the main problems with this game. You have to assume everyone is cheating and spec the cars to compensate for it. Pitiful really.

Yeah, it's a bit asinine that they don't let the room host view the setup sheet from everyone's car. So we're left with "tuning prohibited" or assuming someone will cheat the rules and spec accordingly. :yuck:

I just hope I don't have to sign up for anything extra :/
You won't. You can even paint the rims any color you want! :sly:

It'll stay no-ABS.

Will keep this in mind.

Or give us an additional tuning regulations screen where we can check off the allowed parts.

That would be more complicated though. The tuning sheet would be bonkers simple to implement.

Yeah but wouldn't you have to re-check it every time they go into the settings screen? Seems like it would be a pain.

I agree with RTs check list of mods allowed/disallowed, it would certainly put the host at ease :).

Be quicker than the power-point/weight check tech inspection we do now. *shrug*

being able to use your car as a template for the regs would of course be ideal.

That could work too.

My other idea could work, just go through the screen really quickly and put a checkmark next to each part that is allowed. There's really not that many of them.

There's usually a surprising amount of programming behind UI though. Just saying they could at least throw us a bone by doing something easy... other examples:

1. why don't we have a 'rolling start' option in the picker with 'grid start'?
... the game already has the code, we start seasonal events and some a-spec races on a roll

2. why can't we set the race distance by time rather than laps?
... the game already has the code as multiple enduro's end on a timer.

:grumpy:

Sure those are things they could do, just something they haven't thought of or put too much thought into. Or maybe they think we don't wait it? Who knows with PD...

Yeah, just venting... That July iRacing deal might be too good to pass up though.

Already going to try the simraceway beta... because it's free and they have my car. ;)

Thread will be up sometime tomorrow morning. I would've done it tonight, but our power's been going off and on.
