How do I go about gifting him a card. As I see it, $5.00 is really nothing compared to the fun times to be had among friends. If I can help out a friend, I will, no problem. Thanks Dave.

Mail him a $20 card if it's not a financial issue for you :)

I mailed a buddy of mine copies of GT3 & 4. They were less than 5 bucks each. The money isn't the issue. It's the thoughtfulness because I knew he'd appreciate it.

👍

Ok, thats simple enough, lol. I was thinking it was something I could do via the Playstation Store over the internet. Thanks again Dave.

I learned one thing. An Indy set up is better than a Daytona set up and better to work from.

Thats exactly where my tune is coming from. Started with my Indy tune as my base and went from there. My Indy tune was pretty fast out of the gate for this track and probably could have stopped right there. But, as my friends who know me well enough to know, I'm not ever satisfied with just mediocre. I always gotta try tuning for that last .001, lol. Guess it must be one of those OCD things, lol. But yea, aside from the gearing, a good Indy tune would work if one doesn't want to go through the whole tuning process for this track.

You're welcome :). I think that we're on the same page that SONY should allow gifting via PSN.

Hey guys, I tried out pizza's setup and it is good, but not as fast as other people. Did some adjustments, but can't get under 29.900's... Anyone have help, or even a setup? Heard about adding weight but that dose not help me. Got the gearing is pretty good but I just can't get the handling right

This track seems to be rather dependent on your line. I'd recommend practicing offline for about 30 minutes against your own ghost without making a single change to the car. This way you know the only thing changing is the line you take around the track.

You do not want to add weight to an already heavy car. I have full intentions of posting mine here when I'm satisfied with it. I gotta tell you tho, it just does not feel right helping out a Kevin Harvick fan tho, lol. jk. Forgive me lord for I'm about to sin....lol. Again, just joking with you my little friend.

@Adrenaline: You hit the nail right on the head. The perfect line means everything on this track.

lol good one KB, thanks for the tips guys I'll try doing ghost here soon. Already ran very many online races in the few days it's been out.

I hope to have a Bell's Mini Keg of Oberon for the 4th. Certainly won't be drinking that swill Harvick is peddling ;). I'm joking around of course. Monster > Bud

Kentucky will be fun tomorrow night!

Back to regularly scheduled programming...

Has PD resolved the issue of setups becoming utter crap online? The last time I raced online my 787b felt like it was on rails at Monza. Same track online and the cart felt like it had Sport Hard tires on it! That really discouraged me from online racing.

I've been able to run under 30 seconds but my right front tire would keep going red in turn 3-4.
So after I got my setup to prevent that from happening, my best is only a 3.3--.
So this can be very tricky.

Btw whenever I am in a draft, it REALLY hurts for some reason! I can't even make turn 1-2 without having to let off if I am drafting someone and that can get really annoying as I lose time. I have no idea what to do about that. The leader just slowly walks away and second place can't keep up.

Stock 211 gear
tune 1 & 2 down all the way left then make 4 th so it red lines just in to turn 1 with a good run off 4 then adjust 3rd so you can get in it at about 180 down shift into 3 get back on the gas at 170 about the apex of the corner 3&4
I let off the gas into 3 at the 100 meter mark down shift at 180 or so then pick up throttle at apex about 170.

can run 29.2XX and 3XX but eat front tires in 7 laps
1.8 camber and -.25 toe in the rear any one help with tire wear

Nevermind about my request, found a setup. Can't get over 29.400's unless you really try. Goes through tires like crazy though so usually go into no tire wear rooms.

Heres the setup i came up with. As always , im never satisfied with it and always trying new things. But it does give me consistent times of 29.3's and my best is a 29.1 (28.5 in the draft). although this setup might not be for everyone. To me it feels comfortable. I will say learning this track first and getting the feel for turns 3&4 before you can REALLY be fast on this track. I usually let off just after the 100m mark and let the car float with no to little braking. Hitting your marks and not over driving turns 3&4 is very important!

Ride heights +15/+5
Springs 19.0 / 16.0 or 16.5 seems the lower the spring in back the looser.
Ext 3/4
comp 2/4
roll bars 5/5
camber 1.0/0.9
toe -0.11/-0.20

downforce 49/69

LSD 52/52/15

gears
1. 2.850
2. 1.934
3.1.177
4.1.000
F. 3.500 (stock)
top speed 211 mph ( make sure to set this first)

Note: these gears arent up to my standards yet...but i suppose its a good start for those of you that might need help. I did try stiffer dampers and it just seems it makes the car to tight on exits. Hope this helps some of you . Enjoy

Jake,

I gave your setup (with my own tranny) a go tonight in my lounge. I wasn't as quick as you but I really like your setup 👍. I think my best time was about 29.5. I'll try your tranny tomorrow.

Times are going to be off unless everyone tests under the same conditions. Example: Oline in your lounge, solo run, tire wear/fuel consumption on, grip real, same tires, ect. You will get faster times with tire wear/fuel consumption set to off. All these conditions have to be the same in order to accurately compare times. I am still working on my setup btw. Been devoting my time to the Tsukaba TT.

Are you guys running rs tires? I've tried all these setups, different variations, and different lines etc and I cannot get this pig to rotate.

Best I can do is a 31.2... this is frustrating as hell.

I was running racing softs. Is your engine broke-in skeeter? It should have 892hp. Also check that your not running any ballast.

It's difficult to be consistent at this track because it's hard to be accurate when braking for the tighter set of turns. Part of the problem is because of the hardware and the other part is the lack of practice.

in regards to the toe in- out part of the conversation, as a tire fitter and wheel alignment dude in previous employment, toe out would infact tighten the car, however, as you cant tune the corners individually, this creates the opposite effect, true to life, so yes in saying your doubts are correct and also wrong lmao, its the only thing about this game i hate, the fact you cant tune each individual corner of the car,

btw, ive been in rooms at motegi in the last 30hrs and seen people running mid to high 28s on there own in a qualifying situation, then with no adjustment, raced 14 laps without stopping for tires and not dropped below 31s by the end of the race,

Ya I see most everyone is running rs on these times. I tried and immediately dropped into 30 flat. Plus for some reason the car handles WAY better online... wtf?

That makes up for months of handling MUCH WORSE online.

Idk I'm now running consistent 29.5-6 online...

But still only 30.9 offline... again wtf?

That's clean air on both no draft.

Yep, I used Jakeflake's setup and didn't even come remotely close to anything 29.5... :indiff:

Using Jake's setup in my lounge with tire wear off, racing softs, no boost, low draft and grip reduction on real I was able to get 29.6 a few times. I was under 30 most of the time. There was another person in my room but we stayed about half a track from each other.

I was using a DS3 instead of my wheel and the car seemed very loose in the middle of the turns.

I was also looking for more input. The best I could get tonight in my lounge using a wheel with Jake's setup was 29.4. A few of my friends also seem to like the setup.

I had to replace the fan in my T500rs. To begin my testing, I cranked the FFB to 10 and did a few laps with Adrenaline's setup. This caused steering to be really sharp. With normal steering inputs, I had oversteer but not to the point of losing the rear end. With minimal steering inputs I was doing massive burn outs through turns 3&4!!!

This had nothing to do with the fan replacement. But it was a result of really high FFB.
