Thank you I said this from the start when I saw the track list. Why they didn't do Texas or Richmond I'll never know. Those two tracks best portray the sport
The cars are so thunderously fast!
👍
This was discussed with my friends months before we got this game. What gets me is; they visited Texas Motor Speedway [Kaz 'n company] to see their first Nascar race! There is even a video about it, at TMS. [http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/news/d5202.html]
We might get lucky, and get TMS in a update. It would make the most sense.
That still baffles me to this day. They went to Texas, they more than likely collected track data...why else would you even go there? The game's NASCAR portion was already far into development at that point. Are we meant to believe that Kaz simply flew 18-20 hours across the world just to see a race?
More redneck road racing this time on nurburing nordschleife .
Mind you I just shot until I spun out (dont have the track memorized yet)

Yep I remember seeing that video I thought Texas was a given. Atleast we'd have one 1.5 mile oval but nope. I can understand daytona. It's the great American race. Plus online is good. But Indy?? That one is a head scratcher.
Ill look and see if I can mod my Joey Logano Nascar later, I'm pretty sure you can't mod anything but the gears.
Are NASCARS really supposed to be this fast on corning tracks too? It maybe just me but I have raced against other Super GT drivers with my Gamestop NASCAR and I have beaten them.
That or the Super GT's speed needs to be fixed.
Sorry.
You can tune gears, but only the final drive ratio, which limits top speed. The suspension is fully adjustable though. I'm about to test it on Daytona now with gears set to a top speed of 211mph, hopefully it won't hit that on its own, but I'm betting it will. If this won't work, ill turn the top spped to something I know it won't run, and hope the gears are too tall, which will limit the speed.
Update:
With the top speed turned up to 298mph, I stayed under 205 on the straights, and in the mid to low 190's in the corners. Averaging a 45.5-45.7. So its not WAY too fast, but those are still times which should only be possible in the draft. The thing is, I bet with the setup in the draft, we will still be seeing speeds upwards of 215. No matter what, were going to go faster than we should, but this is not horrible. They need more drag, or less horsepower really... Anyone want to draft with this add me on PSN and we will set something up.
Update 2:
You can adjust aero, which I didn't notice. With gear limited top speed of 298 and the aero set to maximum, I'm in the mid 190's down the straights, and high 180's in the corners, lapping in the mid to low 47's. So, there is a huge improvement, but we need to check it in the draft. Also, the front end seems pushy now, but I'm on hard tires.

I really haven't taken them on a road course yet. NASCAR are subject to alot of wheel hop in the corners. They should feel like a brick in the turns and a bullet on the straights. This is what makes NASCAR drivers have skill the brick bullet theory. Despite what a lot of guys think this combo is a S.O.B. and is really hard to master.

The physics are just a huge miss. Way too much grip and speed. They drive like an arcade game.
Is this with everything off?
What tires do you use? Maybe you're using far too grippy slicks?
Umm...they run on grippy slicks in real life?
Another fail by PD, you don't get to pick your tire. Goodyear brings one right and one left side compound to each track.
