DEI folding? It's tried to fold twice, but the third time will not be the charm. Junior leaves while Truex and Aric save the day, then ganassi pitches in, but nobody will save it the third time.
Yep. The fact that they scrapped their developemental program doesn't help on replacement drivers either.

Also, rumor mill is that Kasey Kahne may be abandoning ship, but i don't see it happening myself.

As in leaving Petty?

you know nascar, nothing is true until the press conference is held.

But if truex goes to MWR, DEI is optimistic they get to keep BPS (but why would BPS stay with no driver?), keselowski gets to go to SHR but with what sponsor. And yes rumor mill was that RPM was considering a switch to toyota in august, that Kahne supposedly wants no part of.

At this point, who knows.

That wreck was Kyle Busch's fault. He could have lifted and not hit Truex. Now 5+ cars are wrecked. The commentators were fast to take blame off him though.

And if I might add: quick to blame Jr.

Kyle Petty's "Kyle Busch haters" comment was gold. Now I know where he's coming from.

While I partially agree with that, I also partially disagree. He could let off, but at the close proximity the field was at, Kyle would have gotten rear ended by someone else and a Pile-up would have happened still. If anything, a wreck would have happened either way so really he's damned that didn't and would have be damned if he did. I do agree the commentators suck up to him too much, even worse then the ESPN guys do.

Kyle lifts, Edwards moves down, Kyle has a full 1 car length (I labeled it as 1.5, it'd go down after he lifts) and voila! No wreck!
I've been very annoyed by Kyle's personality last year and this year, but I actually applaud him doing this as he finally has taken the initiative to take responsibility.
I have to give Kyle some credit there, at least he apologized and took responsibility for the crash.

right. Now here's another view- There was room for a car, where kyle was trying to go. Montoya shut the door on him (or got loose) and closed that hole up, causing the chain reaction.

But if kyle hadn't have been aggressive, montoya wouldnt have run into his fender.

here's what i'm hearing from the news stream..one of my co-workers from racing for the win is buddies with sone of the SPEED gang...

Truex and Keselowski are the 2 hot seats right now. Wherever truex goes, bass pro is apparently under contract with TRUEX, NOT the team, so they go with him. Keselowski has squat for money- godaddy doesn't have the money (their CS is in america...not asia). And right now, money talks, so truex is the better deal.

Keselowski will probably stay in Nationwide until Mark Martin finally retires, then he'll take the 5 ride.

Supposedly Truex is taking the Bass Pro Sponsoship to MWR, replacing Waltrip in the 55.

Also, there's an odd man out at rousch, if nascar holds the team cap firm..so J-Mac may be without a ride unless rousch pays yates to field one car. Or they could pick up the truex option, putting keselowski at SHR. And Childress has said that he's considering closing down one of the teams because he doesn't have the pocket money since chevy isn't there. So Mears might be back on the round table.

That's what will most likely happen, Roush gives the 26 team to Yates unless McMurray decides to take his Crown Royal/Irwin sponsors elsewhere.

Maybe he goes back go Ganassi if Truex leaves, or MWR if they can't get Truex.

And remember, the 39 is only funded through richmond. Anytime it says haas on the car, tony's spending that much more of his personal money.

Wrong.

The 39 will run the full season, when it says Hass automation, it's actually Gene Hass' money, not Stewart's.

Ganassi to Toyota?

Do you guys think once EGR folds (which will happen now that Truex is gone along with Bass Pro Shops) that Ganassi will go to Toyota? I think with the relationship going back to the Champ car days as well as their 6 year campaign in The Rolex Sports Car Series with the Lexus Brand, its bound to happen.

As long as Earnhardt is in the name, that team will stay GM unless Chip buys the whole team, in which case he can do whatever he wants.

When will DEI fold?

When do you guys think DEI will fold? In my honest opinion, I feel they have no hope of surviving beyond 2009 now that Truex is gone. I also feel Almirola won't bring any sponsors to the company and knowing Teresa, she won't care.

I think Almirola left the team entirely, I've seen him in a 2nd Billy Ballew truck in the last few races.

So hang on, i got confused with everything here

Ganassi's moving to Toyota, DEI is folding, Truex has joined MWR and Montoya caused the accident I missed when i was coming back off holiday?

Check?

Can I throw another empty seat into the mix? Say that Stremme leaves the 12 car, who is gonna fill the void?

I think eventually it will happen.

I don't think Chip will be interested in anymore business with a sinking ship like DEI is right now.

They claim Almarola would replace Truex but after seeing him in the 15 twice now, I too believe he is long gone.

Slow down there mate, all that is merely speculation at this point.

If Stremme leaves the 12, then it opens up a whole other batch of questions.

allgaier will be in the 12 soon enough....i've interviewed him, he's a sponsor's dream, with a little talent. stremme has no talent and sponsors dont know who he is

Allmendinger races for PRM, Allgaier races for Penske in the Nationwide series. He is probably the 3rd best driver that is just getting to the top levels.(1:Logano, 2:Keselowski)
)

I apologise, i don't watch the Nationwide Series, we don't get it over here in the uk

Stremme was good in Nationwide, but he went nowhere in Cup the first time with Ganassi, and is nowhere again with Penske (and they're actually pretty good this year).

Penske are awesome.

I watched them last year and they were pants, i think they only picked up one victory all season and that was on a fluke when the rain halted proceedings at Loudon

Kurt Busch actually won at Atlanta this year as he also did that backwards victory lap. Hornish has been getting better as well. At the All-Star race, he did really good to race his way in for the second year in a row.

I was on about last season

I know the blue deuce has won a couple this year, i think

Kurt's been doing good. But Stremme, like TS said, is nothing more but another Todd Bodine or Kenny Wallace- good in the lower rankings, but can't match the competition of Cup.

Hornish has been surprisingly good so far this year, 3 top-10s and 23rd in points I think. Last year, he couldn't get out of his own way.

Clint Boywer(?) won the Nationwide race last night. The Coke Zero 400 is about to rev it up at the top of the hour. Do you like your fireworks at 180+ mph? Happy Independence Day, one and all! And good luck to all teams competing tonight!

TNT makes this race hard to watch. They NEVER shut up, it really ruin's the race.

Wow... that was fun... as for TNT... they had just recently switched announcers from Weber to Sheenen (no word on what happened to Weber).. and 14 wins. :) --- Randy

WHOA!! I know blocking is part of leading, but that was a little ridiculous.

Do you all think it was worth fighting for the win and wrecking an obviously fast car, than settling for 2nd?

Bucsh gave Stewart no choice.

PUT HIM WHERE HE NEEDS TO BE!!! YEEEAAAHHH!

Oh yeah, TNT's coverage is actually getting worse. That bottom 1/4 screen ticker needs to go. The HD feed has the ticker plus overscan. I can only imagine the SD feed... probably half the screen is gone.

Stewart literally did nothing. From what I've seen Stewart held his line while Busch just cut up causing himself to spin.

Also, only one race left of TNT than I can watch the races again.👍

Yer, Busch blocked low and started to slid, heading back up the track. Stewart, as you said held his line, and Busch ran into the front left of Stewarts car.( He had no choice)

 He did it all himself.

Apparently he got into an argument at a local Hotel to the track, and that caused him to get suspended for the remainder of the season.

You should have heard my dad and I shouting for joy when Busch spun out. We so didn't want him to win.:yuck: Good job to Tony for holding his line.

I unfortunately missed the end of today's Cup race, trust people to knock on the door at exactly the wrong moment.

Obviously it wasn't Busch who won, can someone enlighten me?
