Congratulations to Jimmie Johnson on picking up pole at the Monster Mile. So we go from the Boring Mile ("Magic Mile," New Hampshire International Speedway is called, right?) to the Monster Mile. I'm sticking with my pick for Mark Martin to win the title, but have Juan Pablo Montoya as my dark horse. Always loved Montoya since first seeing him in (then) CART ten years ago.

I suppose the diet of M&M's and NOS energy have taken their toll on Kyle Busch

No wonder he hasn't been as fast, looks like he has been been taking advantage of those chocolate fridays

So of Mark Martin and Jimmie Johnson, who do you think Cale Yarborough would like to see win the Sprint Cup this year?

I too think Mark Martin as Cale actually raced with Mark and not Jimmy.

Mark was on his way into NASCAR as Cale was leaving.

I would rather have an old rival win versus someone I have never raced.

congrats Double J, Sky Sports, sort out the timing because we don't get to see it until 10pm Sunday and, even then, it's crappy highlights, geesh

I definately think Montoya in the position for a win again.

I want Monotya to win the Cup, but I also want Mark to win it. This going to be an intersting last few races.

Anybody see the pace cars for the truck race last night? They should keep those for all year.

EDIT: Wow, Joey had a wild crash. Good to see he is ok though.

Logano takes a huge tumble in turn 3, several other cars involved.
EDIT: \/ My dad counted 7 1/2 rolls.

I just saw that Logano wreck. His car rolled about, what... five times? Glad the young man is alright.

I think that's just a Vegas thing. You know Vegas has to be all flashy lol. My dad was telling me that the drivers were warned in the pre-race meeting about bumping the pace car.

congrats to double J, great result for Matt Kenseth and the Killer Bees, bring on Kansas and, possibly, Montoya's stumbling block.

Don't think that EGR are renowned for their mile and a half program, i think their best result was a third in the ATL with no other top fives but we shall see, I could get proved wrong

NASCAR should go back to basics. This is what a Stock Car should look like! Then make the same modifications on the Mustang and Camaro. Simple as that! 👍

That still won't please some haters. They want the car to have an identical engine to the street car, identical shape, identical everything but just add a roll cage or they say it can't be called a stock car

But the car does look good

In which case, they should be watching SCCA touring cars/BTCC

Yeah, people take "stock" too litterally. 👎

Stock Cars have always been race cars, but if they made them look like in the picture I posted, it would be like back in the late 60's, early 70's, when they used almost stock appearing muscle cars.

Don't get me wrong though, as I love NASCAR as it is, but the CoT car looks all the same no matter if it is a Chevy, Dodge, Ford or a Toyota. They could've at least stuck with way it was 3 years ago, before the CoT.

Yeah it seems NASCAR got fed up with the teams/manufactures claiming one body had an advantage over another they decided to just give everyone the same body

I dislike the COT, wish they would move to what the Nationwide series is using, different styles of body and no wing

Even if you don't like the CoT, you must admit that it's very safe. Think of some of the hard crashes (like Joey Lagano this past weekend, Michael McDowell's wicked qualifying crash at Texas last year, and Carl Edward's vicious crash on the final lap at Talladega this year).

I like the COT, but I hate how NASCAR is so uptight with the rules on the bodies and adjustments.

But the ont think u have to agree on with the CoT is that when that got brought in, it cut down so many injuries. Take the Logano crash at Dover, if we had gone back to the old car, what could have happened to Joey?

It might be a bitch to set up for most races but it is a helll of a lot safer than some of the cars in the past

On a lighter note, good look to everyone for qualy at Kansas and UK viewers, coverage starts 7pm behind the red button on Sky Sports 3

Anyone want to make some picks for the race at Kansas? The Top 3 in the Chase is in the order of Mark Martin, Jimmie Johnson, and Juan Pablo Montoya. Will any of these three win, or will the win go to some other driver, even a non-Chase driver?

The old car was plenty safe, the only real safety features NASCAR changed from that one to the COT was they moved the driver a few inches towards the center and raised the roof up a little.

If Logano had crashed in the old car or Nationwide car, he still would have been fine. It's the new aluminum/carbon fiber seats with big headrests, loads of padding and 5/6 point harnesses that do most of the work in crash, look at on board shots of the cars from about 5 years ago, the seats look worse than the ones in passenger cars.

I think Montoya will quit teasing everybody and finally win on an oval with Martin and Johnson in the top-5.

See what ur saying but just don't see it with Martin and Johnson in form at the mo, top five for Montoya would be awesome though

On a lighter note, congrats to Joey Legend on beating the 18 car again.

Busch was supposed sponsored bu NOS, a nitrous oxide speed boost company i believe, think Busch needed some or ran out
