I heard a funny quote about Danica Patrick today and I gotta share this with you guys.

She said on Daytona @ ARCA Testing:

I didn't realize it was two-and-a-half miles. I guess I'm not an attentive race car driver

Oh dear!

I think getting Danica into a stock car will be brilliant from a fan and ticket sales point of view. If she's as quick on the ovals in NASCAR as she is in the Indycars, then more than one good-ole-boy will be getting his panties in knot.

In remembering Danica rumored to go to NASCAR, I still remember Richard Petty (or somebody) saying she shouldn't be in NASCAR. I think you still have to applaud Danica's courage to get this series a chance. Many of us still agree she needs to do MUCH more in IndyCar before going to NASCAR. The long shot would be winning the Indy 500 and the series championship in a proper send off to NASCAR.

Neither Franchiti nor Hornish have been overly impressive in NASCAR after being Champions in IndyCar. As IndyCar steers more into street and road courses, it may get harder for Danica to flourish. I think she may be at her best on an oval.

But Hornish is getting better. If not for Montoya and Ambrose's performances this year, he would be the most improved driver of the year

We all knew Montoya was awesome. But the marvelous little Ambrose was a positive revelation! Supposedly he has impressed everybody both with his driving and his tactful personality.

Well seeing as how she has blackish hair....er, no

She wasn't very fast either

alot of women have blonde moments, regardless of hair color :P

But Danica doesn't do as well as she does on ovals in Indycars, so if she is going to do well, it has to be on an oval.

Hornish has improved vastly but nobody will really care unless he can do what Montoya did this year.

Yeah, but maybe she was not expecting the amount of suspension travel over the bumps. Perhaps holding it to the floor around the bottom, where they are at their worst was just not a comfortable thing for her. Which is why I think the ARCA 200 in February is going to be quite an event for her. I mean, that's just a guess, but I doubt the IRL races any ovals with those kind of bumps, let alone in a car as loose as the stock cars, in terms of suspension, I'd imagine an open wheeler to be much more taught.

She did well better in the session yesterday afternoon guys :)

On her own, she set her fastest lap of 49.934 (182.028mph) and in the second session, that came down to 50.224 (179.197)

Compare that to her first day and her fastest was 51.095(176.108)

So she's improving, her fastest day three time, in a real qualifying session would have put her 12th on the grid.

Well, she is learning, at least she didn't go out and think it would be like Indy Cars and think you wouldn't need any breaks, I am just glad to see a woman trying to make it to the top, I think Danica is a good racer, she seems to have consistent finishes, and Stock Cars will be a learning curve, but don't judge her based on Arca results, Scott Speed dominated one year, and look now, 36th in owners points, also it won't come instantly to her, which I feel will bring some hate, but she is a new driver, and look at Juan Pablo, and Sam Hornish, they have both been steadily improving ever since they joined Nascar, and I feel Danica will be the same way.

Hell Yes!!! Trans-Am and Nascar at Road America, what a hell of a weekend:tup: Third Road Course race for Nationwide as well, yet again Nationwide is the most exciting series out of the top divisions

not at the moment but it was posibly going to be something to do with a components supply to the teams

Also like to give my congratulations to Jimmie and his wife, they are expecting their first child in the summer. Five quid they name the baby Chad?

Maybe something else?

Sorry for double post:nervous:
i read some weeks ago that Volkswagen was trying to come to Nascar, anything new about that?
They're not gonna be in NASCAR. It's because I think that NASCAR owns this other league, and they want to enter thier cars in it.
