That final pitstop for Gordon was mystifying. It handed the win to the number 48. Who made that call for two tyres anyway? Chad Knaus? :sly:

I can't figure out why Steve Letarte made that call to only change 2 tires when he knew "Superman's" car was as fast as Jeff's before the final pit stop. :dunce: Maybe he was told to do that by Rick Hendrick (most likely) or Nascar race control?

Kinda stupid that he decided to put 2 on at the last stop instead of earlier in the race to see if it would work.

I though I heard the commentator say that Johnson tried it earlier in the race and it didn't work. If that is the case how come Gordon's team didn't hear about it?

Yeah, GOOD JOB NASCAR for parking Edwards. That was uncalled for.

Edit: Glad he's ok. the roof of that car caved in pretty good.

Would I be right in thinking that that flip was even more violent that Edwards In Dega?

Also good job NASCAR, penalise that duck!

Thank God he's ok. That reminded me so much of when Keselowski.... Edwards.... Talladega.... Deja Vu.

Well halfway through I picked a donkey and that donkey turned into the and where the hell did you come from award.

I had a bad day for my Fantasy NASCAR but hey, well done Busch and i am all for a backwards victory lap

I lost some respect for Edwards this weekend. BK did nothing wrong on lap 40 and intentionally turning him into the wall where the drivers are going 190mph all day was just retarded. I was really looking forward to BK getting his first good finish in his Penske Dodge.

Yeah, I never expected him to do something like that, especially after Talladega.

Although it seems Keselowski may be becoming a new bad boy, at least among other drivers. This is what the third driver he has been "rivals" with in the last 6 races.

Well honestly (though probably didn't apply today), Brad hasn't exactly made many friends the way he drives. He also ran into Carl last year in Memphis as well as another driver, ran into Denny at Dover and Phoenix. He even got into Logano on the last lap and spun him at California a few weeks back. This didn't just come out of nowhere , its been going on for quite abit. While I'm not trying to say what Carl did was right (I also want to point out that he has said he was not trying to make Brad go into the air like that), Brad hasen't done himself much favors and it seems that driving for a big name has further inflated his ego abit.

Hey guys, lets also look into the aspect of the flying car again. Nascar thinks the wing is the cause but I am 100% certain that they will still fly with the spoiler. The real problem is how well the car are sealed onto the track by the use of the front splitter and side skirts. This works well going in one direction but when turned the other way it creates a huge high pressure under the car, more than enough to overcome the effect of the small roof flaps. What they need to do is lower the bumpers on these cars or make a way if possible to dump this pressure when a car turns around. Lemans series have had these same problems attributed to flat bottom race cars for a while now and every year just like the olympics someone jumps higher each time.

Funny thing is the Le Mans cars don't have flat bottems now and they flipped even more often then with the flat bottoms. Right offthe top of my head I can remember seven incidents where the car spun around and got airbourne that quickly.

Apparently, this is quite a hot topic; the article "NASCAR looks closely into 'retaliation'" now has over 1700 comments (a rate of about one every 13 seconds)! I echo Cale in that I lost a lot of respect for Edwards today.

On another note, the point standings are a little scrambled compared to what you would expect: for example, Menard and Speed are ninth and twelfth, respectively. Some good drivers/teams have had bad luck, putting Hamlin in 22nd, Newman in 29th, and Keselowski in 33rd.

Yeah, what's up with Scott Speed this year? It's like someone kicked him in the behind over the winter and he's finally driving the way he should. I was really impressed with him at Daytona when they didn't pit, putting him in the lead. Instead of falling back right away he held on to it for a while. 👍 Funny that he's higher in the points right now than Vickers.

Prototypes still have a reletively flat bottom though, the entire bottom is sealed off from everything else.

I think Carl's interview pushed me even further to lost some respect for him. I know he's fake now. Before I've seen him get mad, but he acted like it was a joke when he was fake punching someone, Kyle Busch I think. But yesterday, his typical PC face and talking were not there. All I got from what Carl said was, "Brad just learned a lesson back there.". Carl is losing his cool because he can't make 9 wins happen and back flip every other weekend. I knew that guy was too happy to really be that happy.

I'm all for on track rivalry, but what Brad did was not even bad, it in no way was worth wrecking him out, regardless of what he expected to happen. I think right here and now Nascar needs to draw the line with this. A bump in the turn to loosen them up is fine, but nipping the rear quarter of the car going through the fastest part of the track, with a wall basically straight ahead? The front stretch obviously takes two left cranks on the wheel or one long smooth turn. If you spin someone, they aren't going to head for the grass, but the wall directly in their path...

I think Carl should sit out the next race. JMO. May be harsh but I don't like to see that, they were not even in direct competition with each other. Like I said, that's not the place to do something like that, and a fan or driver could have been seriously injured all because someone threw a temper tantrum about a racing incident.

And FWIW, Brad may be the bad guy on track, but at least he does not have the Kyle Busch attitude, or what Kyle's attitude used to be off track. He just races hard, and is not afraid to lay the bumper to someone, which none of them should be, but just not when you can't win the race anyway, and then act like he stole your ball and kick him in the groin...

Nascar should let him practice and qualify then walk by his car in the prerace and ask them if they got the memo, the memo they werent racing today.
Im all for revenge (im a stewart fan) but this is not deserved and completely out of rights. If carl would have gone to him after the race and layed out the law then it would be ok. If he would have rode his bumper all the way around getting him sideways all the way around would also be acceptable. But more than intentionally wrecking him in the most childish ways that I wouldnt do in a videogame. Me and my dad have an inside joke called "this is for malcolm" which is from the movie No mans land, it pretty much is the sign of im about to take my revenge to you. In this case It was way out of line.
